Chapter 1191: The Mysterious Cocoon, Worth A Shot

The Branch of the Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree was an item Izroth received after curing the Order of a Thousand Blossoms Holy Maiden, Seina.

Since it was something that came from the ancestral tree of the Order of a Thousand Blossoms, it was not an item that could be obtained with money alone.

The Branch of the Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree was a simple branch roughly half a meter long with exactly twelve luminous pink cherry blossom leaves attached to it.

Despite no longer being a part of the ancestral tree, each cherry blossom leaf on the Branch of the Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree housed an endless flood of life energy that could not be compared to ordinary treasures.

As for the branch itself, it made the life energy in the cherry blossom leaves seem average in comparison.

Izroth plucked a single cherry blossom leaf from the Branch of the Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree before he returned it to his inventory.

Name: Cherry Blossom Leaf of the Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree

Rank: Mythical(13)

Usage: A leaf from the «Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree» that contains an immense amount of life energy. It is often used in high quality healing ointments, high grade life pills and high quality regenerative potions.

Special Note: It is said that long ago, the sproutling of the Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree first bloomed in the Mother of All Forests. After migrating for thousands of years, it settled on the land where the Order of a Thousand Blossoms now resides.

’To think a single leaf from one of its branches is a mythical ranked ingredient. When I visited the Thousand Blossoms Peak, the tree there was nearly one hundred meters tall with more cherry blossoms that one can count in a lifetime. The Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree—it might be close to achieving divinity.’

Of course, it could only be considered close to reaching divinity for something of its kind. To the Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree, a thousand years was no different than a year or so at best by human standards. In reality, it could take up to another 100,000 years before it actually achieved divinity.

As for the Young Wing of the Ambrosia Tree, Izroth was already somewhat familiar with it.

Though, when it came to the Vial of Immortal Nectar, this was Izroth’s first time using it. It was understandable considering that it was a pseudo-divine ranked item. But, more importantly, there were only ten drops of Immortal Nectar within the vial.

Name: Vial of Immortal Nectar

Rank: Pseudo-Divine(1)

Usage: A vial containing ten drops of «Immortal Nectar». A single drop of «Immortal Nectar» contains near unmatched purification effects. It is also capable of drawing out the true nature of anything it touches, allowing what it comes into contact with to undergo a suitable metamorphosis.

Special Note: The «Immortal Nectar» has a rich sweetness that tastes like honey with hints of lemon. Consuming it directly can display wonderous effects. However, it is said that the «Immortal Nectar» true potential cannot be realized without a «Wing of the Ambrosia Tree».

’Under normal circumstances, a vessel such as a cauldron is needed to combine materials. However, the Immortal Nectar is a rather special substance.’

Izroth placed the Cherry Blossom Leaf of the Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree atop the Young Wing of the Ambrosia Tree. At the same time, he carefully set the life essence entrusted to him by Kalmesia on to the Cherry Blossom Leaf of the Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree.

The next moment, Izroth held the Vial of Immortal Nectar in his hand and slowly tilted it sideways until a single drop fell.

When the drop of Immortal Nectar left the vial, it caused the surrounding air to tremble as it immediately pushed away the vile aura in the nearby atmosphere caused by the mark of corruption.

Plop!

The drop of Immortal Nectar made contact with the life essence as the two melted together. Simultaneously, the melted Immortal Nectar and life essence expanded and spread to encompass the entirety of the Cherry Blossom Leaf of the Ancestral Thousand Blossoms Tree and Young Wing of the Ambrosia Tree.

A few seconds later, a white cocoon with strands of red and blue energies pulsating throughout its surface appeared in place of the items. The cocoon itself was hollow and within was a small shadow in a shape that seemed to be ever changing.

The cocoon also pulsed in a rhythmic manner—as if it were a living heartbeat. And, with every pulse, a powerful wave of refreshing life energy covered the room.

Izroth observed the cocoon and gave an inward nod of approval.

’The first step is complete. While it’s undergoing metamorphosis, I will take this chance to study the mark of corruption as much as possible. Hm, perhaps...’

”I’m not sure if it will work, but it’s certainly worth a shot...” Izroth muttered to himself.

Izroth extended his hand and touched Nova’s arm. The instant he did so, the mark of corruption reacted aggressively, immediately rushing toward Izroth’s hand.

”Careful!” Aurie warned.

Swoosh! Tsssst..!

Right before the mark of corruption reached him, Izroth retracted his hand as a low hissing sound faded and the mark of corruption embedded in Nova returned to its previous state.

’It reacted faster than I initially anticipated. Still, with this, I got what I needed. I would rather not use it, but there is no other way within the time limit.’

”I am fine, Commander. I have to meditate for a moment to gather my thoughts. If I am still not out of my meditation by the time we have ten minutes remaining, you are free to wake me. Until then, I will count Commander Aurie and Captain Kalmesia to make sure I am undisturbed.” Izroth said as he closed his eyes.

When Izroth shut his eyes, the world around him fell into total darkness.

Not long after, Izroth opened his eyes. However, the sight before him was not of the room where Nova resided. Rather, it was an endless meadow that extended as far as the eye could see.

Izroth stood to his feet as his gaze swept through his surroundings.

”It’s as useful as ever. It’s just a shame it has such a fatal drawback. In most situations, I can’t risk using it at all. Though now that I have Empyrean, Selene and Yi Ying at my side, it might be possible to use it more often.” Izroth said to himself.

Although Izroth’s surroundings had changed, in truth, he was still in the same room where Nova remained unconscious.

The view before Izroth right now was thanks to a skill he received after making it to the end of Aurie’s Dream Domain called Image Training.
