Chapter 1114: An Unorthodox Boss Fight

Fortunately, the Silver Inversion Disc would automatically recharge itself over time when it was not in use.

”Your identity matters not! For trespassing and interrupting my research, there is only one result! Iʼll be sure to use every part of you for my experiments! Be grateful that youʼll be of use to advancing my research!” Zitra shouted as swung upward in an awkward angle with the scalpel in his hand.

Right before Zitra swung upward, a mesmerizing song gently drifted into his ears, causing the world around him to momentarily spin.

Shiiiing!

A concentrated gathering of mana rushed out from the edge of Zitraʼs scalpel. However, instead of heading toward Izroth as Zitra intended, it shot up into the air.

Ding!

Zitraʼs attack crashed into the Silver Inversion Disc, leaving a tiny scratch on its surface. But, there was no real damage from the strike.

”What was that just now?! Everything is-!” Zitra exclaimed as he realized that something was off after his failed attack.

He tried to swing downward, but it ended up going toward the ceiling. Or, the floor? He did not know. As, for some reason, he was unable to tell what was up and what was down!

Furthermore, Zitra felt as if his senses had become increasingly dull. This had to do with the mesmerizing song he heard right as he tried to attack Izroth.

The source of that sound was from the Song of the Siren trinket in Izrothʼs possession. The itemʼs effect, Sirenʼs Song, lowered the perception of all enemies in sixty meters by 50%, while simultaneously increasing Izroth and his alliesʼ perception by 50% for five minutes.

”This magic item isnʼt bad, especially when paired with the Song of Siren. Of course, its true potential lies in a group battle.ʼ

Not only did Zitra have his perception and movements inverted, but he also had to adapt to his new circumstances with half of his original perception.

ʼNow, letʼs see how much power this teleportation consumes. If itʼs reasonable, then...ʼ

Zeeeut!

Izroth used the effect of the Silver Inversion Disc to teleport ten meters away from his previous location.

ʼIt only consumed 0.5% for a distance of ten meters? In that case, it should be more than doable. That being said, since my ranged attacks are limited, Iʼll have to get a little creative.ʼ

Izroth brandished his Sword of the Storm as the sound of numerous thunderclaps erupted. At the same time, the lightning element in the surroundings rose severalfold as several purple lightning strikes sparked on the ground and spread to fill every corner of the room.

Bzzzt...! Crrrrckle! Clap! Clap! Clap!

ʼCall of the Thunder God, Fourth State: Heavenly Field.ʼ

The Fourth State: Heavenly Field Izroth used this time around was slightly different than the one he used against Duke Zareign and the Night Terror Shadow Beasts in the Night Lordʼs Crypt. He infused the Fourth State: Heavenly Field with some of his essence and made it so that the power of its effects increased twofold.

As Zitra was still attempting to make sense of what was happening to him, Izroth made his move. He transformed into a bolt of purple lightning and emerged near one of the bolts that struck less than two meters away from Zitraʼs position.

Zitra was caught off guard by the sudden emergence of lightning in a place well out of its reach along with the ear-ringing thunder that accompanied it.

”Chimeras! To m-” Zitra called out; however, before he could finish his sentence, he found himself being pulled toward an inescapable force.

Woosh!

Izroth used the skill Cosmic Seizing Vortex, causing a small vortex of energy to circulate his left hand and draw in Zitra.

As a result, Zitra was unable to act as he was pulled in by the attack. However, right before Zitra could make contact with his fist, Izroth transformed into a flash of lightning and appeared at one of the lightning bolts that struck down roughly ten meters away from Zitra. Woosh!

Out of nowhere, Zitra changed directions to Izrothʼs new location as he continued to fly through the air locked in place. And, if one looked around Izrothʼs left hand, they would still see the circulating energy.

Cosmic Seizing Vortexʼs range was only three meters. But, the important thing about the skill was the fact that the target pulled in by it would be unable to act for the duration of the pull. This meant that until Izrothʼs attack contacted, he could drag his target around without end!

Of course, this was only in theory. In actuality, the speed at which the target rushed toward him with Cosmic Seizing Vortex was much greater than his agility. This was so even when taking into account the agility boost from his Gift of Divine Speed title and the Fourth State: Heavenly Field empowered by his essence. Even if Flickering Steps was off cooldown and he used it, there was no guarantee that he would be able to keep away from Zitra and employ this strategy. However, the situation changed if he was able to instantly teleport.

All of a sudden, Izroth slashed his sword in the air before him, unleashing a wave of sword intent at Zitra. Then, in almost the exact same motion, a similar wave of sword intent swiftly followed after the first.

Not long after the wave of sword intent crashed into Zitra, he was struck by one of the purple lightning bolts.

Then, before Zitra could reach his position again, Izroth jumped to another bolt of purple lightning that hit roughly ten meters away in the direction that Zitra had just come from as he continued to move away from Zitra with his natural movement ability.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Izroth swung his sword in the air before him in a series of quick yet simple attack patterns. There was no one in front of him, making the action seem bizarre.

With his agility stat currently over 19,000 points, Izroth was capable of attacking several times per second. And, after just the first few slashes, Izroth received the alert he had been

waiting for.

System Alert: The passive effect of the skill has been activated.]

[System Alert: You can now use within the next 5 seconds, ignoring its cooldown time.[]

The first wave of sword intent Izroth released not long ago was from the Fifth Sword Form: Receding Tides. As for the second wave of sword intent-it came from his Sixth Sword Form: Double Blooming Lotus, a skill that allowed Izroth to execute the last sword skill he used.

The reason Izroth was slashing at the air just now had to do with the passive effect of his fifth sword form. Executing attacks with a sword gave Izroth a 5% chance to freely use the fifth sword form while bypassing its cooldown time within five seconds of the attack. Furthermore, while the fifth sword form was on cooldown, the chances of the passive activating doubled to 10%.

Since Izroth activated the Sixth Sword Form: Double Blooming Lotus, while it was on

cooldown, it also mimicked the passive effect of the Fifth Sword Form: Receding Tides. In other words, each of Izrothʼs attacks with a sword had two separate 10% chances to spawn a free use of the Fifth Sword Form: Receding Tides.
