My Mosquito Clones Are on a Killing Spree

Chapter 178: Chapter 100: Reaching the Top Spot

KRA-CHUNK... VMMMM...

The alloy gate slowly opened to both sides.

Outside the examination hall.

The originally noisy waiting area instantly fell silent.

The training camp staff responsible for maintaining order, as well as the paramedics on standby, all subconsciously raised their heads.

Their gazes shot in unison toward the opening gate.

”What happened?”

”How did it end so quickly?”

”Has it only been two minutes? Two minutes and seven seconds! The fight is already over?”

”Was there some kind of accident?”

The area buzzed with discussion.

The on-site director for the examination was a burly, stern-faced, middle-aged military officer.

At this moment, his brow instantly furrowed into a knot, a wave of anger rushing to his head.

”Dammit!”

He growled, his voice suppressed with rage.

’Are those kids from Nanjiang Martial Arts University deaf, or did they forget to bring their brains? I told them over and over again to take it easy! To drag out the time! To give the trainees a chance to show what they’ve got! Not to end it in a flash and go for a one-hit knockout! Two minutes! With more than twenty trainees, they were probably taken down before they could even use a proper move! How is the assessment team supposed to score this? By who fell down with better form?!’

For this training camp placement assessment, the elite students from Nanjiang Martial Arts University acted as gatekeepers. Their mission was to test the mettle of this new batch of trainees.

The training camp’s upper management had specifically emphasized this.

The gatekeepers were to control the pace and prolong the fight as much as possible.

This was to allow the ubiquitous high-definition surveillance cameras inside the examination hall to clearly capture each trainee’s on-the-spot reactions, combat skills, and willpower.

This was the most important basis for class assignments.

’And now this—the fight’s over in two minutes? The trainees were just background props. How am I supposed to write the assessment report?’

The director felt his blood pressure soaring.

”Which examination hall? Who was the gatekeeper?”

He ground out the words through clenched teeth.

An adjutant beside him quickly keyed a query into a light screen and reported at a rapid pace:

”It’s Examination Hall 35! The gatekeeper is Tu Jun! A third-year student from Nanjiang Martial Arts University, a low-tier Third Grade Martial Artist!”

”Tu Jun!” The director spat out the name, his face ashen. ”Good! Very good! Tell the supervising instructor from Nanjiang Martial Arts University that Tu Jun’s mission contribution points for this are to be zeroed out! Let that teach him a lesson!”

Just then, his furious voice came to an abrupt halt.

He saw that inside the open alloy gate of Examination Hall 35, it was not the gatekeeper, Tu Jun, who walked out as expected.

On the contrary, a group of young trainees walked out... talking and laughing, looking relaxed, without even a speck of dust on them.

They wore relaxed smiles, chatting quietly with each other and walking with a light step, as if they hadn’t just gone through a difficult combat assessment, but had finished a casual team game instead.

Their clothes were neat, their hair wasn’t even messed up!

This bizarre scene left everyone in the waiting area stunned.

Immediately after, an even more jaw-dropping scene unfolded!

The last trainee to emerge was a young man carrying someone on his shoulder.

”HISS—”

”My God! Is that Tu Jun?!”

”He... he was knocked out?!”

”So Tu Jun didn’t sweep through the trainees, the trainees took him down?!”

”How... how is that possible?!”

”Unbelievable! This is absolutely unbelievable!”

After a brief, dead silence, the entire area outside the examination hall erupted with uncontrollable gasps and sharp intakes of breath.

All the staff, paramedics, and even the director stared with wide eyes.

Their faces were masks of shock and disbelief.

It was as if they were witnessing something that shattered their understanding of reality.

A complete reversal!

The outcome was a dramatic and stark contrast to their earlier predictions!

The young man carrying Tu Jun was none other than Lin Yi.

Soon, several paramedics who had snapped out of their stupor rushed over with a stretcher.

Lin Yi placed the unconscious Tu Jun onto the stretcher.

He straightened up and calmly added to the paramedic:

”Don’t worry, I held back. None of his bones are broken, and his internal organs should be fine. It’s just a concussion that made him pass out. He’ll probably be alive and kicking in a day or two.”

He said it matter-of-factly, his tone flat.

The paramedic in charge, who was scanning Tu Jun’s vital signs with an instrument, heard this and his hand trembled, nearly dropping the device.

He snapped his head up to look at Lin Yi, his expression utterly bizarre, the corner of his mouth twitching uncontrollably.

’Just listen to him... Why does this feel so wrong? It’s as if Tu Jun was the trainee being assessed. And this young man is the gatekeeper who held back and conducted the assessment?’

”Congratulations!”

At that moment, a steady voice broke the strange atmosphere.

A military officer with shining epaulets strode up before Lin Yi and the other nineteen trainees. His gaze swept over the group, lingering on Lin Yi for a moment with a hint of imperceptible admiration.

He held a metal box in his hand.

After opening it, he revealed rows of neatly arranged, simple, matte-black, watch-style communicators.

”You have successfully passed the camp entrance assessment!”

The officer’s voice boomed.

”These are the training camp’s specialized communicators. Each of you gets one. Now, bind them to your identity information.”

He gestured for a staff member to come forward and distribute them.

Lin Yi took his communicator. It was slightly heavy in his hand, its surface cool and smooth. The wristband automatically fastened itself, and the screen lit up, displaying a complex initialization interface.

”Once bound to your identity, it will accompany you throughout your entire time in the training camp.”

The officer continued,

”All important notices, mission information, and point changes will be delivered through it in real-time. The communicator has a built-in holographic map and navigation system for the training camp, a list of all rules and regulations, a resource exchange list, and an emergency contact module. Be sure to read through it all carefully and familiarize yourselves with it.”
