Empire Rising: Spain

In this spacious square, several cars produced by the factory are parked. These cars are quite brightly colored, seemingly having been manufactured not long ago.

After cleaning, everyone from the car factory stood upright at the factory entrance, quietly waiting for His Majesty the King’s arrival.

Carlo didn’t keep them waiting long.

About ten minutes later, a convoy slowly drove over. Leading the way were two modified cars without roofs, allowing the soldiers to observe the surroundings and protect Carlo’s safety.

Three identical cars were at the end of the convoy, with five cars both front and back protecting the safety of the central vehicle.

The car Carlo rode in was in the middle of the convoy, a specially modified vehicle much larger than the ordinary cars the soldiers rode.

The convoy slowly approached the factory entrance and then stopped.

The guards emerged from the five cars in front and behind, and the Captain of the Guard first ordered the soldiers to line up, then respectfully stepped forward to open the car door for Carlo.

Carlo slowly stepped out of the car, gazing curiously at this car factory he had never seen before.

The last time Carlo inspected the progress of car development, he had gone to a testing zone outside Madrid.

Besides Graham’s Electricity Laboratory, there was also an engine laboratory present there. At that time, car manufacturing and testing were conducted there, and that small testing area was praised by Carlo as Spain’s industrial brain.

It’s worth mentioning that the Electricity Laboratory and the Engine Laboratory both achieved significant results.

The power company and car company, established on these two laboratories, have since moved to a much larger industrial district.

”Your Majesty!” Benz hurried forward, respectfully speaking to Carlo.

”Mr. Benz, long time no see. Let the workers go and rest; standing here all the time must be tiring, isn’t it? Take a few technical experts with me to the factory for a tour. I haven’t visited this factory yet,” Carlo said with a smile.

”It’s my honor, Your Majesty,” Benz nodded respectfully, leading several technical experts to follow Carlo into the car factory.

Since the Royal Family’s wealth kept expanding, Carlo reduced his attention to some of his industries.

The reason is simple: the Royal Family controls too many enterprises, so many that Carlo is no longer able to focus on all of them.

Car industries, which require substantial investment, receive occasional attention from Carlo. But there are several other large investments like this one. If he had to focus on each, there’d be little time left for governance.

Fortunately, Steward Loren’s capability is indeed impressive; he’s always managed the Royal Family’s industries very well. Annually, Steward Loren reports on the progress of the Royal Family’s industries to Carlo. Although it doesn’t match the Spanish Government’s revenue growth, there is steady progress, with each year’s earnings surpassing the last.

Carlo was able to allocate 25 million Pesseta at once toward the creation of the Carlo Award precisely because the Royal Family was already flush with funds.

Not to mention 25 million Pesseta, even if it were 100 million Pesseta at once, for Carlo now it was as easy as pie.

This also caused Carlo to lose the conception of money. Various investments begin in the millions, and sometimes the expenditure of a million-level fund doesn’t require Carlo’s approval; Steward Loren can make the decisions on his own.

Benz naturally knows Carlo has never visited this factory, established just a few years ago, and so along the way, his introduction was quite detailed.

”Your Majesty, our car factory has been established for six years now, currently having produced over 600 cars, with an annual maximum production capacity of about 500 cars.

Currently, the factory workers are seasoned technical experts, and if the factory needs to expand, they can train a large amount of car workers for the factory.

As per your orders, the factory is ready with the assembly line production workshop. We only need to confirm the cars meet the standards after testing to start the assembly line production mode.

Presently, most of our cars are handcrafted. If we could fully implement the assembly line production mode, perhaps our car output could see a massive increase in a short time,” Benz explained to Carlo with a smile.

Before coming to Spain, he never imagined his company could develop to such an extent as now.

Although he only holds 2% of the company’s total shares, these 2% shares now have substantial value.

Benz was well aware of the development potential of cars as transportation tools. As the market for cars expands in the future, the value of this car company will continue to rise.

This also fills Benz with anticipation for the future development of cars and the car company. Solely relying on 2% of shares in the car company, Benz hopes to become a millionaire in the future.

Listening to Benz’s introduction, Carlo nodded.

Assembly line production is the most critical means for speeding up car production, and Carlo had long since imparted to Benz the secret of assembly line production.

There truly wasn’t much of a secret; it was about breaking down the car manufacturing process into several steps, allowing each workshop to handle just one step.

The benefits of this approach are evident. Previously, a team needed to build an entire car, which, while boosting familiarity with cars among workers, led to slight variances in each vehicle.
