Empire Rising: Spain

The Gold Coast is not far from mainland Spain, and the gold mined here will be smelted on site and transported as gold to mainland Spain.

To ensure the security of the Gold Coast, and also to help the Gold Coast Colony Government control the local gold, Spain will establish an African fleet at the Gold Coast, protecting the Gold Coast and the coasts of several surrounding colonies.

The Ashanti Empire to the north of the Gold Coast is also on Spain’s conquest list, and Carlo will not allow a hostile indigenous nation north of his gold-producing area.

After annexing the Ashanti Empire, the extent of the Gold Coast will expand more than double. Spain also hopes to find more gold in the newly annexed lands; the more gold reserves there are, the more currency Spain can issue, which is quite important for the stability of the Spanish economy.

It is worth mentioning that several kilometers east of the Gold Coast, Portugal also has a small colony called Vida.

Although called a colony, it’s more like a large colonial stronghold. A large gold mine was discovered here, attracting a considerable number of Portuguese gold prospectors.

It is precisely these continuous influxes of gold prospectors into the colonial stronghold that led Spain to establish this small colony.

Because this colony is on the passage connecting the Gold Coast and Guinea Colony, Spain will not give up its claims to this colony.

Portugal can choose to exchange colonies with Spain or wait for the Spanish Army’s arrival.

It is believed that the Portuguese are quite sensible after all; until now, Carlo does not wish for war to break out between Spain and Portugal.

This not only would destroy the good relations that Spaniards and Portuguese finally established, but it could also affect Spain’s plans to annex Portugal.

To properly develop the three colonies in West Africa, at least millions of immigrants are necessary. The good news is that, due to the United Kingdom’s colonial developments, the population in these three colonies is quite large.

Spain only needs to migrate approximately 500,000 people to ensure that the West Africa Colony development plan runs smoothly.

Although 500,000 is not much for Spain, Carlo does not intend to bring these immigrants from mainland Spain.

Apart from attracting some Spanish and Portuguese immigrants from the South America region, Carlo also plans to spend a large sum on introducing a batch of immigrants from various European countries.

Of course, utilizing the Lanfang Republic to attract a portion of Chinese immigrants is also part of Carlo’s plan. Anyway, as long as they are not Black, Carlo can accept Yellow people, after all there are many mixed-race Yellow and Whites in South America, and Spain wants to introduce a large number of Spanish and Portuguese immigrants from South America, they must accept these mixed Yellow and White people.

For the West Africa Colony development plan, Carlo proposed a plan to replace Black with Yellow and Yellow with White.

The early development of the colony requires the involvement of Black people, and once the colony’s initial development is successfully completed, Spain will initiate the Black elimination plan.

Whether by manually eliminating or expelling these people, incidentally, in Spanish colonies, Blacks are not allowed to exist.

Carlo does not wish for the future Spain to become the France of later generations, although Carlo does not discriminate racially, Carlo indeed dislikes Blacks.

The process of expelling Blacks from Spanish colonies will inevitably be very long and will lead to considerable conflicts and even wars with indigenous Blacks and native forces outside the colony.

However, this is not bad news. Only wars can train the army’s growth, and the Spanish Army also needs the experience of war.

Using these natives to give the Spanish Army practice, maintaining a high level of combat readiness to deal with large-scale wars on the future European battlefield, this is also part of Carlo’s plan.

Regardless of whether fighting with these natives improves the combat capabilities of the Spanish Army, first letting the Spanish Army see blood can avoid morale shaking when witnessing brutal war scenes on the battlefield.

As for the impact such a plan may have on the natives, who would care?
