The Return Of The God Level Assassin

Chapter 1275: NO CONTACT

SU YUQI noticed her father was still waiting for her answer. She pushed her thoughts aside and said, ”As long as you did not bring him with us for some hidden agenda, then it is fine with me.”

”Of course not! You know I donʼt agree with what the family elders want. While I think Ah Feng is a good young man, I would never force you to marry him just to please the family. Your feelings will always matter most in such decisions.”

Her father spoke with firm conviction, his voice carrying both warmth and resolve as he looked directly at her.

A small smile touched her lips. ”But the elders wonʼt give up on wanting Ning Feng to marry into our family. I suppose itʼs my fault for not being talented enough to meet their expectations.”

This did not bother her very much. Her parents had always made her feel she was good enough just as she was. Besides, it was true she did not have her fatherʼs natural talent for painting. She had never been interested in becoming an artist, anyway. Her passions lay in a completely different direction.

So whenever there was a family gathering, and the elders criticized her, she never took it to heart. Why should she? Their words could not change who she was or what she wanted. Her confidence in herself was too strong to be shaken by their disapproval. This unshakable self-worth was likely one positive result of her parentsʼ unwavering support and belief in her.

”Donʼt you ever say that,” her father insisted, his voice full of conviction. ”You are incredibly talented, Qiqi. Those old men are just too blind to see it.”

Su Yuqi chuckled softly. ”Donʼt worry about it, Dad. I never paid much attention to what they said, anyway. I know exactly what Iʼm worth. Nothing they say can change that.”

”Good,” her father said, his eyes crinkling with a warm smile. ”And remember this, Qiqi, your dad and mom plan on living for a very long time. Weʼll definitely outlive those old fools. So in the end, their opinions donʼt matter at all. You just focus on doing what makes you happy. Your mother and I will always be here to support you.”

Her fatherʼs words filled Su Yuqiʼs heart with warmth. They even made her temporarily forget the troubling thoughts that had been occupying her mind just moments before.

Luo Jin dried his hair while walking out of his bathroom. He had just finished a workout in their home gym and had taken a quick shower afterward. Besides the household staff, he was alone in the large house. His father and older brother were both at the company working, and Luo Yan was away in B City, probably going through his military training.

The empty house felt a little lonely. He thought about logging into Arcadia, hoping to meet up with Su Yuqi for their usual grinding session. But then he remembered she had not been online for several days. Even his phone calls to her went straight to voicemail every time.

He was getting worried, wondering if something bad had happened to her. He contacted Bai Ze first, but his cousin said he didnʼt know what Su Yuqi had been up to recently. Bai Ze told him not to worry, but that didnʼt make Luo Jin feel any better. He then reluctantly called Shen Ji Yun, even though he didnʼt really want to. But he still didnʼt get a clear answer.

After his hair dried, Luo Jin picked up his phone. He tried calling Su Yuqi again, but the call went straight to voicemail like before. He sighed and opened Weibo to pass the time. A particular news headline caught his eye.

[National Artist Su Cheng Han spotted at S City airport with his daughter and one of his disciples.]

Luo Jinʼs attention locked onto the photo. Uncle Su was walking with Su Yuqi, and beside her was a man who looked a lot like the captain of Team Fenghuang. His brow furrowed. He checked when the post was made and then instinctively started reading the comments below.

- Whatʼs Master Su doing in S City?

└ I looked it up and found he will receive a lifetime achievement award.

└└ Really? Will the ceremony be televised?

└└└ Iʼm not sure.

└└└ They should broadcast it. We rarely have a national level artist visiting our city.

- Wait, that young woman is Master Suʼs daughter? She looks just like Morganite.

└ Morganite? Whoʼs that?

└└ Sheʼs a member of Team Yunyue, the current champion of the Arcadia Cup.

└ Youʼre right... it really is her. Amazing.

└ YUN is the nephew of Moonlight Mediaʼs president, and Morganite is Master Suʼs only daughter. Are all the members of Team Yunyue from wealthy families?

└└ I heard Noctis and Young Master Jin are the sons of the Luo family from our S City.

└└└ Seriously? What about White Marsh?

└└└└ I believe he is from the Bai family in B City. Another influential family.

└└└└└ It seems they were all born with silver spoons in their mouths.

- That disciple... why does he look like the captain of Fenghuang?

└ Because he is! Thatʼs Ning Feng!

└└ Youʼre right. Heʼs actually Master Suʼs disciple? How come I never knew that?

└└└ Itʼs not that surprising. Master Su has always kept a low profile, so his disciples do the same.

└└ If Ning Feng is Master Suʼs disciple and Morganite is his daughter, didnʼt their teams face each other in the Arcadia Cup semi-finals? I wonder how that felt.

└└└ It must have been awkward for them.

└└└ Doesnʼt it seem like theyʼre star-crossed lovers or something?

└└└└ I can see it. They actually look pretty good together, donʼt they?

└└└└└ I think so too. Do you think they might be secretly dating?

Luo Jin stopped reading before his irritation grew strong enough to make him throw his phone. He took a deep breath to calm down, then checked the date the photo had been posted.

The photo was posted today.

Su Yuqi was here in S City, and she had not contacted Luo Jin at all.
