The Return Of The God Level Assassin

SHEN YI MU wiped the melancholic feelings he felt and proceeded on looking on the papers on his desk.It was Sunday but he was in his office working.Itʼs not something thatʼs out of the ordinary.Thereʼs a lot of things he needed to take care of in the company. So, sometimes he went here even if itʼs the weekends.Itʼs not like the popular belief that a CEO like him just sat back in their big villa and let his subordinates do all the work.If he wanted his gaming company to become more successful, then he had to put in equal amount of effort.

Some time later, he heard a knock on the door.He told whoever it was to enter and Zhao Cheng walked inside. The other was tall and well-built.His black hair looked stiff as if he hadnʼt washed it for a few days now.His clothes were also crumpled, as if he didnʼt even bother ironing them. There were obvious stubbles on his face. The whole person looked messy. If someone met him on the street, they would think that heʼs some jobless idler instead of the head of a well-known gaming companyʼs programming department.

”Ah Cheng, I told you to at least dressed yourself properly while youʼre in the company.Arenʼt you embarrassed walking around looking like that?”

”Not really,” Zhao Cheng shrugged, plopping himself on the couch inside the wide office.

Shen Yi Mu could only shake his head. This guy hadnʼt always been this sloppy. This habit only started last year when Zhao Cheng and his lover separated. After that, this guy seemed to not care anymore about how he looked. If not for his work here, he might just burrow himself in his condo unit.

”If Ah Xing sees you like this, he might have a heart attack.”

Zhao Chengʼs eyes flashed a bit and then he snorted.”That guy wonʼt see me like this since he wonʼt be coming back.He already chose that Du bastard. He probably wouldnʼt even care if I die in a ditch somewhere.”

Thatʼs right.Zhao Chengʼs lover was a man.He had been with Zhao Cheng since the other was just a fresh graduate, starting at the company. That would be almost a decade now.Shen Yi Mu also became friends with him.He truly believed that what happened between the two was just pure misunderstanding. But that misunderstanding already lasted for a year.He doubted if it could be easily fixed now.

He hoped that the two wouldnʼt end up like him and Jiang Yue.But both were stubborn as a mule. The two never really had a big fight before this. There were small quarrels but never this big.Thatʼs why when it happened, both sides didnʼt want to give in.Thus, resulting to the current situation.

”Hey, donʼt talk like that.I already told you that it must be a misunderstanding. If you only try talking to Ah Xing, Iʼm sure everything would be cleared up.You do know where he is, right?”

”I wonʼt go,” Zhao Cheng stubbornly said.”Itʼs always me who gives in.Every single time, Iʼm always the one who came running after him.No matter if it was my fault or not.If everything was really just a misunderstanding, why couldnʼt he just explain himself to me?Why is it that itʼs still me who have to run after him just to hear his explanation? So, Boss shouldnʼt persuade me anymore.Because I wonʼt go.”

Shen Yi Mu sighed. He knew thereʼs no use persuading the other so he just stopped.”Do you have anything to report to me?” he just asked to change the subject.

”Ah, thatʼs right.Have you seen the comments on Weibo? It seems that young masterʼs team mate still has some skill,” Zhao Cheng said, becoming more energetic.”Itʼs that Noctis, right? The one who got one of the special races we added?”

”Itʼs him.”

Shen Yi Mu remembered that he was the one who mentioned Noctis to his nephew, asking him to check on one of the players who got one of the special races they added to the game.Could Ji Yunʼs fascination start as early as then?

”That kid is pretty gutsy.Launching the pavilion under Moonlight Mediaʼs name.Did you know that he even pretended to be one of the pavilionʼs NPCs just so he could attract more players?”

Shen Yi Mu showed interest when he heard the last bit.”How do you know?”

”Havenʼt you seen the advertis.e.m.e.nt he made? That black-haired elf was him.”Zhao Cheng knew that the pavilion was rewarded to a player named Noctis. That kidʼs game avatar was pretty unforgettable. So, when he saw the advertis.e.m.e.nt, he immediately recognized him.”I also watched some parts of the live broadcast. He was there, facilitating everything.”

Shen Yi Muʼs interest on this kid that his nephew was probably in love with increased when he heard that.He hadnʼt really watched the live broadcast. Now, he was kind of regretful that he didnʼt.”Is it satisfactory, what he did to the pavilion?”

The pavilion had a special meaning to the both of them. They designed it together and named it after the two most important people in their life.It had always been one of the rewards given by the King of Arcadia every year during his birthday. But no one had ever managed to get it.Until the recent birthday event, that is.

That was probably the reason why Zhao Cheng agreed on Ji Yunʼs request to let his team mate buy a piece of land on the recreational garden in Goldcrest City. Not only just to give Ji Yun face, but more so because he wanted the pavilion to be seen by everyone.

A nostalgic glint flashed on Zhao Chengʼs eyes before he answered Shen Yi Muʼs question.”Yes, itʼs very satisfactory.”

Shen Yi Mu glanced outside the floor to ceiling window.”I see.Thatʼs good then.”

The two fell into deep thought. Both were thinking of the person dearest to them. But little did they know that the people occupying their minds were now working at the same place.Of course, thatʼs still a story for later.
