Tyrant Sky Martial Soul

Chapter 83: Chapter 83: I am The First One

The Elder Supreme did not pursue the attack because he was more worried about Ling Feifan.

It was only after he futilely tinkered for a while with no result that he exploded in rage, shouting at Ling Xiao, ”You scourge, why aren’t you saving him!”

”Elder Supreme, I have already said, agree to my two conditions and I will save him.”

Ling Xiao wasn’t foolish, knowing the Elder Supreme was in a dilemma and dared not to harm him, but once Ling Feifan was saved, the situation could be very different.

”Speak!”

The Elder Supreme’s face changed over and over again, eventually he could only resign to say.

”The first condition is to apologize to me; I am not some scourge, I am a disciple of the Ling Family, personally recruited by Clan Leader Ling Xiaotian. Moreover, I am the Ling Family’s genius disciple who defeated Ling Feifan and took first place in the Genius Hall!”

In saying this, he intentionally pushed Ling Xiaotian to the forefront, effectively using him as a shield.

Though the Elder Supreme was of high status, he would not go so far as to disrespect Ling Xiaotian.

After all, the Clan Leader is the highest authority.

”I misspoke in my anger, and should not have called you a scourge! Is that satisfactory now?”

Although the apology was insincere, Ling Xiao did not want to make things too tense, especially since an apology had been made.

An Elder Supreme apologizing to an ordinary disciple, that was probably unprecedented in the Ling Family.

”The second condition is an oath in public, to not seek revenge against me for personal grievances!”

Ling Xiao held up a second finger as he spoke.

”No problem, can we start saving him now?”

This Elder Supreme was extremely furious inside, but for the sake of Ling Feifan, he had to hold it in.

This oath barred him from dealing with Ling Xiao within the Ling Family, but Ling Xiao couldn’t possibly stay there forever, right?

Someday he would settle the score with this little bastard!

”Of course!”

Ling Xiao still stood at a distance but merely flicked a stream of Gang Qi over. The chill on Ling Feifan’s body quickly dissipated, and the solid ice turned rapidly into water.

”Referee, it seems you have yet to announce the results of the penalty, haven’t you?”

After thawing Ling Feifan, Ling Xiao looked towards the referees.

”Indeed! You’re right,” they only just came to their senses on the referee’s stand.

”Ling Xiao’s challenge against Ling Feifan is successful, he temporarily takes the first place in the Genius Hall rankings, and Ling Feifan temporarily loses his ranking!”

First place?

This was truly unexpected.

Ling Xiao initially did not wish to challenge Ling Feifan so soon.

However, on one hand, he wanted to strike a blow against Ling Yun, and on the other, he simply could not stand Ling Feifan’s air of superiority.

Another reason was that, despite both arriving late, they had received disparate treatment. He could have let that slide, but even the referees and those high-ranking members of the Ling Family watching the match had mocked and sneered at him.

Therefore, he hoped he could swiftly defeat Ling Feifan, to vent his frustration as soon as possible.

Of course, the most important reason was that he felt, among the disciples of the Ling Family, the only one who could stimulate his potential, and force him to exert over eighty percent of his strength, was Ling Feifan.

No one else was truly adequate; they did not meet the criteria for training value.

As the referees announced the result, the scene immediately erupted, everyone incredulously voiced cheers, shouts, and discussions.

Ling Xiao defeating Ling Feifan was simply a monumental upset.

Many had envisioned various possibilities, but immensely few had considered this outcome.

Ling Xiao, the dark horse, incredibly had dark-horsed all the way, from eliminating Ling Yihang to take the first place in the Elite Hall during the knockout stage, to defeating Ling Feifan for the first place in the Genius Hall during the final battle.

It was a thorough shock.

Though the final battle wasn’t over, and others could still challenge Ling Xiao.

But to be honest, the person capable of defeating Ling Feifan, basically among these disciples, had already become unparalleled.

This youth, just half a month ago, was merely a martial artist with the first layer of Martial Veins, his rise was truly like that of a comet.

Ling Xiao bowed respectfully towards Second Master Ling and Ling Xiaotian, as these two were the ones he must thank, otherwise, he might not have been able to participate in today’s competition.

He then bowed towards the judges and the audience.

There’s no need to mention the judges, at the very least their decisions were fairly just.

And in the spectator stands, although the people supporting him were not as numerous as those supporting Ling Feifan, there were still some, so it was appropriate to acknowledge them.

Afterward, he walked over with a smile and sat down in the first row on the first chair.

Sitting next to him, Ling Yun almost vomited blood with rage upon seeing Ling Xiao approaching.

This trash that he viewed as worthless, not worth mentioning, had actually taken a seat in front of him and even defeated Ling Feifan, the rival he had dreamt of besting.

”Ling Feifan, you piece of trash, you actually lost to this garbage, you’re not fit to be my opponent!”

Ling Yun roared loudly.

By this time, Ling Feifan had gradually recovered. His injuries were actually not severe; the main issue was excessive consumption of energy.

His eyes glanced over and he gave Ling Yun a faint look, saying, ”Is that so, then I will challenge you next, and let you understand what big talk without substance truly means!”

For now, Ling Feifan did not want to challenge Ling Xiao anymore; he had a feeling that Ling Xiao had not used all his strength in the end.

That guy was more terrifying than he had imagined, and he needed to secure a top-three position first, then strive to catch up.

The subsequent matches, although also exciting, truth be told, after the battle between Ling Xiao and Ling Feifan, the audience always felt something was missing.

Ling Yixue challenged the disciple ranked eighth and astonishingly made a breakthrough during the fight, turning defeat into victory at the critical moment.

She immediately challenged the seventh rank thereafter and again emerged victorious.

However, when challenging the sixth rank, the difficulty was much greater; she was seriously injured and ultimately lost the match.

Having used all five of her challenge opportunities, maintaining her current ranking at seventh was quite good.

After all, just like Ling Xiao, she was a disciple recruited from outside the family, and achieving this level under the circumstances of limited resources was quite impressive.

When it came to talent, she was probably not inferior to Ling Feifan.

Given sufficient resources, it would be very easy for her to break into the top three in next year’s competition.

Ling Yihang chose to forfeit, clearly, he had intended to challenge Ling Xiao, but he changed his mind at the last minute and turned his attention to Ling Yun instead.

The reason he forfeited this round was because he wanted to observe Ling Yun’s battle before making a challenge.

In the third round of challenges, Ling Feifan really did challenge Ling Yun.

”Ling Yun, you called me a piece of trash, well today I’ll show you who the real trash is. I’ve only recovered less than fifty percent of my strength, but that’s more than enough to defeat you with just one move!”

To say this to Ling Xiao would be arrogance.

But to say it to Ling Yun, Ling Feifan had ample confidence.

Because he knew Ling Yun all too well, and daring to make such a claim with such knowledge meant he was certain.

”Be careful not to bite your tongue in the wind!”

Ling Yun naturally would not accept this lying down.

Ling Feifan said nothing more, this time he directly took out his Long Spear, then aimed the tip at Ling Yun, and the purple flames burned once again.

Although these flames obviously weren’t as intense as the ones he used against Ling Xiao, they still should not be underestimated.

Hisss!

In the air, Gang Qi was continuously ignited, the purple flames emitting an evil aura, giving off a suffocating and terrifying sensation.

As the spear tip vibrated, Ling Yun seemed to see faces of the dead appearing before his eyes.

He was startled because he knew those were illusions, born from the immense pressure he was under.

Initially, he thought this thrust was nothing special, but only when truly facing it did he realize how dreadful it was.
