Wilderness

The worm beast bled to death half an hour later. After the death of the worm beast, I collected the corpse inside the storage ring.

If the elders won’t demand any evidence, then I will find an opportunity to dispose of it. Then I continued to wait here.

I don’t know whether other worm beasts would see me as a trap. The smell of the worm beast’s blood filled the place.

Soon, I spotted a beast. But it was not a worm beast. The blood smell drew the attention of another corrupted beast.

When the beast got closer, he saw a four-legged leopard. His eyes flashed with surprise, because this beast was rare and small in number.

Still, the red eyes showed that it was a Corrupted beast. The beast got closer. He got ready, the blade in his hands.

He covered the blade’s edge in starlight power again. He needs to push a little so that the blade can enter the advanced stage.

He thinks that the leopard beast is a good opponent.

Roar!

The leopard beast let out a roar before getting closer. It came here attracted by the blood of the beast.

But when the beast saw a human, it changed its target. The frame of the beast was over 3 meters, and it had a long body.

The leopard beast is a Tier-5 Corrupted Beast. It has sharp claws and teeth. The terrifying ability of the beast was its speed.

Swoosh!

Next, it charged forward to attack.

Jeremy Night was using his eye power to observe the beast. He found the movement of the beast was a little faster despite using his eye power.

He is going to use basic blade moves only. In a fraction of a second, he calculated the distance between the beast and himself.

Slice!

He moved sideways at the last moment. Still, the beast was able to swipe its claws in mid-air.

Jeremy didn’t get flustered. He once again evaded the attack and swung his blade at the beast.

Pfff!

The blade swept across the side of its body. The starlight felt no resistance. It went through the flesh like tofu.

Blood gushed forth from the wound. It’s a Tier-5 Corrupted Leopard. Its pressure didn’t cause him discomfort.

The beast fell down to the ground while running. It didn’t expect to get a severe wound. But still, the beast was bigger in size than him.

Roar!

It turned around and roared at him. Once again, the beast charged at him. He was fully focused. He was following basic moves.

He calculated the distance again. This time he didn’t wait. He used footwork to confront the beast.

Pfff!

With great precision, he avoided the deadly jaws of the beast. He crouched down before stabbing the blade at its abdomen.

The blade penetrated inside and created a massive gash. He withdrew the blade. Blood spurted out with force.

He moved his body to the left side. He avoided getting crushed by the beast.

Boom!

The leopard beast known for speed collapsed to the ground. It was now severely injured. But the beast struggled before getting up.

It fled from the place using its remaining strength. Even its remaining strength was enough for the beast to gain acceleration.

In the blink of an eye, the beast disappeared into the woods.

Jeremy Night saw the beast’s back. He then looked toward the blade. He didn’t know what was missing. He was not getting any information.

He then started performing basic moves in this open land.

Time passed.

The blood smell didn’t attract other beasts, because there were no other corrupted beasts in the vicinity.

He practiced for the next few hours. Once his arms felt burdened, he stopped practicing.

The next morning,

He was awake. He hadn’t slept at all. But surprisingly, he didn’t come across other beasts. Now he started to think whether he was wasting time here.

The danger of going to a deeper area existed. Higher-tier beasts were more common there. When he thought of his blade skill being stagnant, he decided to go deeper.

This time he was going toward a completely new destination. Even he was not sure what lay ahead.

So while moving forward, he left behind marks on the trees. As time passed, he started spotting Tier-5 beasts.

But he avoided them. They were easy for him to kill. Just one gash was enough for them to die.

Tremor!

He didn’t know how long it took, but he felt a tremor on the ground. He felt the tremor was not coming toward him.

Instead, it was going in another direction. After confirming that, he started following the tremor. Soon, he got closer. He didn’t want to expose himself.

So he used his eye power. Then he saw a worm beast over 4 meters in size being besieged by many beasts.

When he observed further, he found one thing: those beasts were not Corrupted beasts. They were all Tier-5 lifeline beasts.

He was surprised. He didn’t expect to find members here. They were all first-year students. He rarely watched others fight.

He was going to watch now. He saw how different lifeline beasts were attacking. But the size of the worm beast was larger than the other beasts.

Jeremy had faced a Tier-6 Worm beast before. He knows that when it comes to a life-or-death situation, the beast will use its ability.

And its movement ability was terrifying. No one would be able to stop it. He wanted to see whether the worm beast was going to use that ability or not.

When it came to the Beast Tamers, he saw they were standing at a safe distance and commanding their lifeline beasts from there.

This type of combat style was new to him. He was the only one who fought directly against corrupted beasts.

As time passed, his eyes flashed with appreciation, because this beast-taming team had excellent coordination. The lifeline beasts were following orders exactly.

If one beast attacked and retreated, the next beast followed up with an attack. It was good teamwork.

But he felt they were taking too much time. It would be a matter of time before the beast burst forth with speed.
