Red Moon Chamber

Jeremy Night felt the increase in strength. Not only had his physique evolved, but the starlight power in the mental zone got strengthened as well.

He couldn’t wait to test the power of the starlight thread. The unknown beast egg stopped giving feedback energy after some time.

Then he continued to use natural energy to stabilize his strength.

One hour later,

He ended the practice. He opened his eyes and saw a small layer of filth covering his skin. He stood up and walked up to the console.

He turned on the switch. The natural energy in the room decreased. It didn’t take long for the natural energy to be gone.

Then he walked outside and shut the door. Next, he went to the bathroom to take a shower. The bath lasted for 20 minutes.

After walking out, he changed into the training uniform. He immediately walked toward the training setup in the hall.

There was a steel puppet on the platform. He arrived in front of the puppet. Looking at the puppet, he tried to control the starlight power.

The starlight power in the mental zone stirred. From the block of thick ice, a single thread snapped out.

Compared to last time, the length of the thread was longer. It was up to 20 inches in length.

Seeing that thin thread floating above the starlight block, his heart stirred. The length of the thread was almost the size of a short sword.

He controlled the starlight thread. He extended his index finger. In the blink of an eye, the starlight thread wrapped around his index finger.

It was more than five turns. Not only was the control smooth, but the starlight thread didn’t show any rigidness.

The starlight thread now had flexibility. The next second, he moved his index finger.

Swoosh!

The starlight thread extended to form a sharp blade over 20 inches.

Jeremy Night slashed at the steel puppet the next moment. The sharp starlight thread cleaved through the chest of the steel puppet with no resistance.

It was like slicing through butter. Seeing that, Jeremy was shocked. Earlier, he could only do something like this after a couple of attacks.

This time he did it in one move. Hereafter, he could kill the Tier-5 Corrupted beasts much faster. And if planned correctly, a Tier-6 Beast could be killed as well.

He then tried to bend the thread. The thread bent at a right angle. He tried to move it like a wave. He had been practicing this move for a while.

Now it happened. A single thread bent like a wave. Earlier, the thread would break. It looked good right now.

Then he spent a few more minutes experimenting with it. Only then did he take the starlight thread back into the mental zone.

Jeremy came to the sofa and sat on it. He picked up the device and called Sister Melinda. He hadn’t seen her last night.

When the call was connected, he asked about her situation. Then he learned that she did participate in the battle.

But she and a few seniors were injured, so they had retreated earlier back to the city.

Now she was recuperating. Jeremy sighed in his heart. He was right. She had suffered injuries. That’s why he was not able to find her last night.

After having a small talk with her, he ended the call. He then started using the star fist. He hadn’t had a chance to use it on the battlefield.

But he knew it was a trump card. He wanted to improve the skill as well.

...

Governor Office

All Five Lords from the Human Alliance had gathered here. Their pursuit last night ended in failure. They didn’t find the Tier-9 Beast responsible for the attack.

Instead, they met with other beasts. Before the situation could worsen, they returned to save their own lives.

It was an embarrassing situation. The lords could be high and mighty here and order around the human zone.

But in the unexplored area, they were still weaker than the Colossal beast. They were only equal to the Tier-9 Beast.

Governor Martin and Orion were sitting opposite to them. They could read the room. That’s why they were quiet.

If the lords had been successful, then they would have said so. But it made them both worry.

If the lords went back and the Tier-9 Beast appeared next, what would happen to the city? Both of them couldn’t imagine.

They needed someone permanently stationed here. Only then could they be at ease. But they couldn’t voice that out now. They wanted the discussion to come to an end first.

The Lords were discussing. None of them wanted to leave without finding the Tier-9 Beast. They had teamed up to come here for a single reason.

They wanted to eliminate the threat of the city being destroyed. If City A was gone, then the other cities would be headless.

It could put the entire human zone back at risk.

”We should have brought someone with a tracking ability,” the old lady with the healing power said.

Hearing that, the other four lords frowned.

”None of us has a tracking ability. Why don’t we go back and send someone else?” the second old lady asked.

”Now that we know that Tier-9 Beast has a poison ability, we should send someone else suitable to deal with it,” she added.

”You are right!”

”But we can’t leave the city.”

”The city is under constant threat. Once the beast crosses the border, its poison attack could reach the city.”

The other three male elders stated their opinions. None of them wanted to leave the city.

The governors who were hearing this were shocked to the core. Their worst premonition might come true.

Martin said, ”Respected Lords, we already lost two of the Tier-8 Beast Tamers to the beast. One of them was Governor Leon.”

”The beast could resort to tricks. It’s best not to give it any more chances to attack,” he added.

Hearing that, Orion was shocked to the core. He didn’t expect Martin to speak out all of a sudden.

He was scared that the Lords would be displeased.

”I apologize, my lords. Governor Martin was under too much pressure,” Orion said from the side.

The five lords are startled by the words of the governors. They are not offended. Instead, they almost forgot about the governors.

The old lady with the healing ability then says, ”You guys can go back and send a team of suitable Beast Tamers.”

”It’s best if the team has two Beast Tamers with tracking abilities,” she adds.

Hearing that, the other lords are surprised. They didn’t expect her to volunteer. Maybe the words of the governors touched her.

The other lords agree. They think it’s a good plan.

One hour later,

The aircraft leaves City A. It’s the aircraft of City A. In the governor’s office, only three of them remain.

”Lord, what if the Tier-9 Beast comes back?” Martin asks.

Orion is scared sh!tless. He didn’t expect Martin to ask the same question again.

The old lady’s eyes flash with a glint.

She says, ”The beast won’t come back anytime soon. It has gone deeper into the unexplored region.”

”Even if it comes back, my healing power can counter the poison. So you don’t have to worry,” she adds.

Martin and Orion sigh in relief. Then they leave the office. They have other work to do. There are a lot of people still living in the bunker.

They don’t know whether it’s okay to call them back or not. But some of them have started coming back. The news of victory has reached everyone.

How can they still hide in the basement? The two governors decide to tell everyone to be careful. At the same time, they decide to import resources from the other zones.

The danger is not yet over for them. They need more healing resources. They distributed most of them last night to the hospitals.

It’s necessary for them to get more resources. These things can’t be consulted with the lords. It’s not their job.

Time passes,

The news about the victory spreads across the city. Yet, there are families who want to confirm the news with the city guards.

When the city guards at the gate assure them, then these families return to their homes.

A similar thing is happening on the other side. The families are returning to the towering residences.

Last time, the towering residences took the main impact. That’s why the families vacated the towering residences in large numbers.

Right now, they are happy to return. But these families don’t know that the dangers are not over yet.

Only the Beast Taming Heads of various forces are acting secretly to collect resources from other zones.

Some were especially poisoned by the Tier-9 Beast during that battle. They are buying poison cures in high quantities.

They have immense trust in the lord. But she is one person. If the city were to face an attack, she would be helpless as well.

So they are preparing themselves. It’s the same case with the Dean of the Central University and the Head of the Beast Taming Association.

Unlike others, they are demanding additional manpower. They need manpower to protect their assets.

The headquarters has no choice but to help them. They can’t watch their investment being destroyed. It would send a negative message to others.

So, the discussion is going on, on their side.
