COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

At Evening.

Cafe.

”Ding dong——” Two first-year Class B students walked in.

One male and one female.

Among them, the boy has slightly curly purple hair, while the girl is quite eye-catching, with beautiful strawberry-blonde hair.

These are Kanzaki Ryuji and Ichinose Honami whom I have met before.

According to the information obtained by Kushida, Ichinose won the first place in the written examination before admission.

Certainly, Because I have seen Sakayanagi’s intelligence.

So, Hachiman felt that, she must have fooled around in the exams. ’It is really cruel to compare normal people with geniuses.’

But.

”That means 70% of the students in your class have scores above 70?!”

Horikita Suzune, thought out loud in astonishment. As if she couldn’t believe it.

70% Don’t joke around like this?!

”Ah... um. How are Horikita-san’s grades?” Ichinose-san started asking after sitting down, she thought that the fox-eyed girl was not that good at academics, after seeing how shocked she was.

”Usually it’s over ninety points,” Suzune narrowed her eyes at  Ichinose’s two balloons that started to change its shape when she sat down and put her hands on the table.

Quite envious.

”Oh.” Ichinose nodded, looking slightly embarrassed for coming to the wrong conclusion.

She really thought that Horikita might be a scumbag, but now that she is a top student, there is no problem.

Then Ichinose looked at Hikigaya-kun.

She has discovered that although it is Horikita, Kushida and Hikigaya together, the one who calls the shots,

Horikita-san, seems to be following the male party’s orders.

So, Kushida is just a middle man, their phone girl to be exact.

Certainly, it’s just slightly rude to think so.

”Actually, it’s like this.” Hachiman explained the purpose of his visit, ”I hope to use the strength of your class for this written examination.”

In other words, I hope that Ichinose will send their top students and make up lessons for Class C.

”That’s it...” Kanzaki and Ichinose seemed to consider this request for a while, but quickly agreed.

”We are an alliance class, so of course we have to help each other. And when helping to make up lessons, you can also consolidate and review your own knowledge.” Ichinose said, she didn’t even realise, there was anything wrong with their proposal.

”I think If I told my classmates, they’ll be willing to do it.” She said, as if it’s something to be proud of. Even her face looked happy.

’Well, people in your class are all little angels.’ Hachiman thought to himself.

Don’t have much fighting power.

This is the information given by their phone girl.

”B-besides, your class has also worked hard for what happened with Ryuen-kun before.” Ichinose said with lingering fear. She couldn’t imagine the dark situation, if it was her classmates being assaulted.

So, it’s better not to think about it. Kanzaki beside her also nodded.

’I originally thought that forming an alliance with Hikigaya-kun’s class wouldn’t do much good for us...’

As a result, Ryuen went straight to the stage. Just think about it, if Hikigaya-kun’s class is breached, then their Class B will be next.

And, there are also some utilitarian ideas.

Among the current evaluation scores of the four classes, Ryūen’s class has returned to 0.

Although Hikigaya’s class still has 450 points, there is still a gap between them and Class B. At the same time, the overall level of his class is shit.

Only, it seems like they need help now.

So, it was difficult for Hikigaya and the others to catch up, and then the Ryuen class, which was dangerous to Class B, also went down.

It’s reassuring. So, this can be regarded as defeating a class first, which is a pretty good result for them who have the idea of advancing to A.

So, if they just borrow some classmates to make up classes, etc.

Of course they can do it.

It’s just, when the loan was successful, Ichinose suddenly glanced at Hachiman.

”Hikigaya-kun, let’s exchange phone numbers.” Ichinose made such an unbelievable request, she didn’t want to trouble Kushida-san every time.

’Phone number? What are you going to do with it?!’

Hachiman already had dark history with Kushida, who leaked his information to Sakayanagi.

”...” Kushida. Oh, She realised that even Ichinose Honami, cut her off like a lizard’s tale, not that important.

Just like that straight girl, Horikita.

’Didn’t you obviously call me Kushida-chan last time? Why throw me away?’

’Do I look like an M to these people? Who likes being abandoned?!’

Kushida-san was doubting her life. Where did she go wrong? She looked at Ichinose with a cloud inside her heart.

__________

Well, the said person Ichinose was looking at Hachiman with curious eyes.

Is this the first time in your life that a girl proactively gives you, your mobile phone number?

It was a novel experience for Hachiman.

So, Komachi, isn’t it great to go to high school? Come quickly too!

_________

”Ichinose-san and the others are really good people, isn’t that right, Horikita-san?”

Looking at Ichinose who left because she became busy after school, Kushida who was beside Hachiman said softly.

Her presence is not that strong today. She already felt ignored, and then tried to complain about the people who discarded her.

However, an agreement has been reached with Class B, to borrow top students to make up lessons for everyone.

Then the students in the class probably think it’s pretty good too.

And it’s only the 2nd, the exams are on the 24th and 25th, and there are still 3 weeks left. If you study harder, it’s still possible for everyone to pass safely.

And Kushida is trying to get in touch with Horikita Suzune. Maybe things will change for better? She wanted to have a little hope for the future.

”...” Suzune ”Oh.” But her attitude seemed a little cold.

Then Kushida-san just kept a polite smile, she was already used to it.

These people really didn’t want her, and now Hachiman even got Ichinose’s phone number.

She was obviously being a good assistant, completing all her jobs with her best effort, but she was still kicked out.

No wonder my father started drinking.

____________

Horikita Suzune, who showed no interest in Kushida-san’s inquiry, but looked towards Hikigaya.

”What do you think?” She decided to ask the better person, after all he was the one who wanted to drink Ichinose’s blood.

”I’m thinking about something.” Hachiman looked at Horikita, and started explaining his observations, ”Teacher Chabashira told me that this special exam, which is the mid-term written paper, will be held by the whole grade.

I don’t know but it looks similar to last month’s code of conduct exam. Some kind of standard assessment for freshmen after they enter the school?” He wasn’t sure but still had doubts, why did their homeroom teacher use that kind of wording?

Can’t she just say normally that it’s just a written paper?

”In other words, do you think there is any other solution?” Horikita Suzune finally understands the meaning behind his words.

If it is a code of conduct exam, then if you know the content, you can reduce the deduction of points through self-discipline.

Class A does this very well.

Only, “What’s with that look?.... You look very suspicious,” She noticed Hachiman looking at her with a weird smile on her face.

’He looks like an old man? Why does Hikigaya-kun look so happy?’

Suzune has seen that look on the customer’s faces many times, after they eat a large bowl of Miso Ramen at her family restaurant.

It was one of her father’s specialties.

“It’s nothing,” Hachiman shook his head, “Please continue,” he didn’t want to tell Horikita such things.

He felt like she would definitely throw her spoon at him, if he did.

But, Suzune was still looking at Hachiman with a suspicious look on her face, “I don’t think there is any other way to pass the written examination without study....huh?”

She let out a dumb voice in the middle of her sentence, “Hey, what’re you doing? Give it back here!” She immediately scolded Kushida-san, who took her spoon away from her cup of coffee.

There was still some left, and Suzune had a habit of moving her spoon around to stir up the contents.

But when she saw Kushida-san moving her hand quietly, and stealing her things away, she couldn’t help but start questioning the other person.

’What is this girl doing? Is this revenge for ignoring her earlier?!’

Suzune thought it was stupid, and no way in hell she would lose this kind of fight!

“Eh? H-horikita-san!! So, aggressive!” Kushida screamed out in fear, when she saw Horikita standing from her seat, and throwing her hands, reaching out to grab her chest?

“Kushida-san, I won’t repeat myself. Please give my spoon back,” Horikita warned in a cold voice, she was trying to bend her arm slightly, but since the other party was startled, she ended up grabbing Kushida’s melons instead, pulling them towards her roughly.

Their table started shaking violently, so Hachiman, the sole perpetrator, decided to grab their cups, while still in shock at the sudden cat-fight that started in the middle of the cafeteria.

Kushida tried to defend herself, by trying to use her arms to block Horikita away, but she’s more fierce than before.

Which caused Kushida to moan out loud, feeling a little excited, her face turning red, “H-Horikita-san-! P-Please, stop! Stop! I-I beg you please forgive me!”

She received a shocking attack!

Horikita-san who suddenly assaulted Class D’s little angel, she kept groping her ’assets’.

Kushida was doing her best to endure the pain, and hold out other soft moans that were out to be released in front of everyone.

Some boys started filming, this erotic scene, gathering today’s fap material.

“Look, it’s Kushida-chan!!” A boy shouted, with his eyes full of  amazement.

”Tsk, don’t look at that attention freaking bitch! What does she have that I don’t?” Some girls couldn’t help but curse in her heart when they saw their boyfriend’s looking at the crazy scene in the cafeteria.

They obviously didn’t like their dazed looks, with their son twitching inside their pants.

“Kotori-sama, should we break them up?” A waitress asked from her boss at the counter.

“What? Are you an idiot? It’ll definitely attract more customers!” Her boss, who looked like in his mid-twenties looked at his new staff member as if she had grown a second head.

“Don’t even try to go near them, let the show continue!” He even warned the other staff workers in a strong voice, his face looked quite scary.

So, in this way. No one came to stop the fight, they didn’t want to lose their jobs. Their manager is very excited, with his eyes sparkling.

”....” Hachiman. He decided to end this fight before it goes any further... He didn’t know what kind of demon possessed Horikita all of a sudden?

But it will be better to stop it now,  “Hey, both of you, stop it already. People are looking at us!!!”

Hachiman who watched this amazing yuri drama from the front position, tried to prevent the other boys to record this tragedy, to be honest this was getting troublesome.

Even though these girls are quite a handful, he didn’t want these innocent girls to be used as fap material.

Suzune snorted, after hearing Hachiman’s excited voice, “Hmph! This seems enough for you. Don’t try to steal my things again,” She sat down on her seat, with a silver spoon on the palm of her hand.

Leaving her victim, Kushida-san, tumbling into her seat as if blown by a stiff breeze.

She looked like a sloth, leaning her whole body against the back of her chair.

Her uniform somehow disarray. Both her blazer and blouse looked like a mess, just like a couple’s position after snogging around.

Hachiman looked at the short haired girl, with pitiful eyes.

Kushida took some deep breaths, calming her heart down, she glared at her opponent with anger in her eyes, “hah...waah...that’s..... that’s cruel...”

“I-i could report you about this...f-for bullying you know!” Kushida yelled at the black-haired girl, sitting across from them, in a trembling tone with an angry look on her face.

Suzune on the other hand, just gave a cold smile,  “I could do the same to you, Kushida-san. I wouldn’t be mad if you didn’t try to steal my things.”

Then she changed her opponent and looked towards Hachiman with her narrowed gaze, “And same goes for you, Hikigaya-kun. You should be glad that I didn’t retaliate at that time for trying to tarnish my reputation in front of everyone in the Student council!” She spat such dangerous things.

Suzune didn’t forget, how this crazy person tickled her in front of her brother, causing her to let out some girlish voices, feeling very embarrassed.

’So, it was a payback for making Horikita-san have a shameful experience in the Student council?’

’But why bully me? I didn’t do anything to this annoying girl!’ Kushida was just following her boss’s orders like a good  girl. She looked at the main culprit with teary eyes, ’Omae wa hontoni baka da ne!’

”....” Hachiman.

Suzune finally gained her aloof composure, after defeating the enemy, ”I’ll forgive you for touching me this time. However, next time I’ll pay you back double no triple or even more!” She threatened the other party.

She didn’t even specify who was the target of these words.

Kushida who had enough of this criminal, now couldn’t help but complain with a crying face, “Isn’t this already settled off? Why did you intend to make it worse?!”

When Hachiman saw this rare opportunity, he also supported her statement, “Yeah, all I did during the court was tickled your side but you threatened to assault me in exchange!” Just throw the blame on her head, like it’s her fault all along.

He was innocent!

Suzune ignored his words, already familiar with his poisonous speech, so she looked towards the girl who was wiping her nose with a handkerchief, ”You should know the best that your existence already bring unpleasant feeling toward me.”

Kushida whimpered in a pathetic voice, letting the cloth fall on the table, ”W-What are you saying?!”

Dumbfounded with their banter, Hachiman who watched the whole spectacle.

He looked at younger Horikita as if the girl were something terrifying existence.

Hachiman thought he would win a big favour if he told this stuff to Ichinose, because she’s obviously the same type of girl as Kushida, it would be better to warn the other party beforehand.

“Besides, what do you think about my statement Hikigaya-kun?” Suzune decided to continue their meaningful conversation from earlier instead of paying attention to the girl in front of her who was thinking if a cat crossed her path in the morning, bringing her so much bad luck in one day.

_________

“Meow...” Sakayanagi patted her cat’s soft fur, in her dormitory cutely. “You must be hungry? Um, Masumi-san....”

___________

Statement? What’s she talking about?

Don’t you feel any remorse?

Hachiman was thinking wildly in his heart, but he tried to remember the topic.

“Man, what a disappointment!” A small voice was heard.

Huh? Who’s disappointed? Hachiman looked in their direction, but only found some male looking members going inside the kitchen and other waitresses hurrying away to take orders.

Sigh.... Really? Is this the behaviour of professionals, watching the girls fight? Why didn’t you do anything?

Hachiman was thinking about marking a very low rating, in their feedback resume.

Hey, I got it! Behaviour?!

It can be self-disciplined and restrained, or you can even pretend to be serious.

Just like the workers in this cafe. But the written examination is a test of real talent and practical learning.

But Hachiman doesn’t think so. Because.

If this school looked at written exam results the same as outside schools, then it shouldn’t have admitted so many scumbags into Class C or Class D in the first place.

Because if you fail the exam, you will be expelled from school.

So, doesn’t it mean that a large number of students will be eliminated from the beginning?

So why go out of your way to recruit them? What else does it mean?

If there would be so many students  wiped out like this, there would definitely be some bad rumours about this school, right?

So, he thinks there is some way to pass the customs.

Hachiman then looked at the person sitting beside him, but he hesitated for a moment before speaking, ”..Kushida, can I ask you something?”

”Huh?” Kushida blinked her eyes confusion, she didn’t think she would be allowed to enter the conversation so early. ’Do you still want something?’

”I hope you will contact the upperclassmen.” Hachiman asked in a very polite manner, as if apologizing for earlier, ”Let’s see how they cope with the exam.”

”Nani...” She said in a long voice. ’Why are there so many weird orders today?’ Kushida really thought this wasn’t her day, so she decided to go to bed early, and offer some sweets to the Buddha.

Because even though her social circle is wide, she is still working hard to expand her first-year circle of friends.

She hasn’t had time to penetrate the senior students yet -

After all, if you think about it, the senior students have already formed a relatively independent small group after a year of getting along well.

And she doesn’t know how to divide their inner workings, so it’s extremely difficult to crawl into.

So, they weren’t penetrated by her yet. And now, her boss actually gave her such a heavy responsibility?

”Hirata only gained the number of upperclassmen students by sacrificing his own virginity,” Hachiman tried to fool her, seeing her reluctant face, “And judging from the situation of our own class, if the senior classes C and D are like us, they have to go through these compulsory written exams every year.”

“If they didn’t take shortcuts, then it would be impossible for them to stay in this hell like this,” He said, while looking straight into Kushida’s orbs like pupils, trying to declare that he was very serious about this issue.

That’s it. She nodded slightly. He was asking her to gather information.

So, she still has some value. ’Of course, I was stupid to think the boss would throw me away.’

Kushida is very experienced in this kind of stuff, so of course you need help. Then she looked at Horikita Suzune with a superior look, who assaulted her in a broad daylight.

And a small smile formed on her lips unconsciously, because at the end it was Kushida, who won the war not you!

Indeed. Horikita would never be able to gather information like her, it would be better to say that she would ridicule the other party as soon as she opened her mouth.

Besides, the evaluation scores of senior classes C and D are also very bad, indicating that they cannot beat the higher people at all.

So how did they avoid being expelled from school when they were both ’trash’?

You can indeed inquire about it.

”And if you get the plan,” Hikigaya then decided to give her a lollipop to sweeten the deal, ”then you can explain it to our classmates in the name of Kushida-san!”

In other words, the proposal was Hikigaya’s, but does all the benefit go to her?

Eh! This kind of thing....

She looked at her boss again, because.

he seems to know her very well.

Indeed. If Kikyo-chan was praised by everyone, it is indeed a good thing. Besides, she thought that it was Hikigaya trying to make up for the whole ’groping her chest’ fiasco earlier.

In this way.

On the one hand, the normal methods are used to arrange for the top students in Class B to make up lessons for the low-marks students in the class.

And on the other side, he arranged for Kushida to spy on upperclassmen.

The time for make-up lessons is set one hour after school every day.

Anyone with a score below 60 points will have to stay in school.

There’s not much to say about this.

Because now everyone enjoys free tuition, and the school also provides living expenses.

It is simply an unimaginable life. Full of sweet stuff, just like a creampie.

Didn’t we suddenly become Class C out of nowhere last month? So, can we also inexplicably become Class A, a few months later? Happy life indeed.

Therefore, the students in the class are also quite optimistic.
