COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

Class A has 988 points. It is a reasonable score for them.

As for Class B, as Sakayanagi Arisu said, even if they were told the test questions, they would not be able to achieve the same self-discipline as their class.

So there is still a gap between the two classes.

But Class C, the original Class D, is also very outrageous!

Because their class evaluation was 480 points when it was announced, but now twenty days later, it still has 450 points.

This self-discipline will not be lost to Class A. It stands to reason that it requires attention.

Were these guys actually smoking?!

It was only after arranging students to investigate that they discovered that Class D students had eaten the unpalatable mountain and vegetable set meal together, and then they didn’t want to try it again.

That’s probably it, they don’t want to have 0 living expenses next month.

’So, I can’t tell whether this class is strong or not.’ And when Katsuragi was thinking about this.

”President Horikita.” At this time, Sakayanagi suddenly spoke. She was in poor health and was the only one to sit down among the several students who came to the student council.

Rather say. Several of them were specially called over by Horikita Manabu to praise them.

This is an outstanding performance that is different from the past after a month of behavioral standards examination.

Of course, you can be proud of it.

”So since our performance is excellent, can we apply to join the student council?” Her voice was soft, smart, and pleasant to the ears.

Katsuragi noticed that she was talking about his dark history, so he immediately paid attention.

”Then please go back.” Horikita Manabu said coldly, ”There is no shortage of people in the student council now. Although you performed very well when you entered school, there are two leaders in Class A. This is a matter of your ability. You can’t even control Class A, let alone join the student council.” he said, while looking over at both of them, as if scrutinizing.

There were some first-year students who joined the student council, such as Nagumo Miyabi, but that was only in the second half of the first year.

It has only been a month since they entered school, and it is undoubtedly wishful thinking to want to join the student council.

So, Sakayanagi Arisu was directly rejected, but she didn’t show any displeased expression on her face.

Although in reality, she was ridiculing Katsuragi like crazy in her heart!

”And Katsuragi.” Horikita Manabu also commented on this poor child, ”You and Sakayanagi have the same problem.”

”As another representative of Class A, you cannot completely control your own class, so you are not capable enough to join the student council.

Moreover, you have only been enrolled for one month, and you have not shown any ability that I value.” The President didn’t hesitate to ridicule both the leaders of Class A, like it’s just a trivial matter for him.

”Haha...” In response to President Horikita’s unabashed and calm evaluation, Sakayanagi Arisu just smiled politely and cutely.

She nodded as if in agreement. However, Horikita Manabu saw the disdain and contempt in her eyes.

Why can Class A have two leaders?

It was just something she deliberately let go at first because she felt bored.

Rather, even if she does nothing and gives Katsuragi time alone, he will still lose.

But when the student council president commented like this, Sakayanagi felt slightly insulted, and Katsuragi had no intention of objecting, he’s already accepted his situation a long time ago.

As if nothing else can be done.

Because what the president said is right, the two factions in Class A are not a good thing. So, he is giving them some direction.

Horikita Manabu, Class A of the third grade, led an outstanding class that has not had any students drop out in the past three years, has only one representative from the other side, and is also the student council president.

But the current first-grade Class A cannot do that. It’s just that Manabu is the best Student council president in history.

According to the research information, most of the students in his class are clutching onto his thighs, and just taking a free ride.

So, Horikita Manabu is like one person resisting everything. He is a very strong person.

Then the requirements of the student council president are really harsh.

If this was the standard, Katsuragi felt that his rejection was understandable.

Moreover, the presence of two representatives from Class A is indeed their shortcoming.

Two people with two different ideas, so, sooner or later they will have conflicts causing back-stabbing and such.

And this kind of thing is not a good thing for Class A.

Therefore, he also hopes that Sakayanagi can stop being so obsessed and choose a more prudent approach like him. It’s just that it’s difficult to convince the other party.

Especially when Yahiko contacted Ryuen without permission, and then talked about signing a contract with the students in his class.

But Ryuen was scammed by the students of Class D, and as a result, his classmates from Katsuragi’s kindergarten were reduced to a few and joined Sakayanagi’s Institute.

And this is probably because he has lost a certain amount of support in the class.

Katsuragi doesn’t think this is a good thing. Because the fight between the two factions will only continue, and bite each other’s butt.

”Then, President, can we leave? It’s already about half an hour,” At this time, a voice sounded.

That was a boy from Class C who had been keeping quiet, and getting bored.

So, he opened his mouth and said such things surprising everyone present, ”Hirata still has to join the club, and at this point, training has already begun!”

”...” Horikita Manabu. He looked over.

The classmate that was called Hirata, looked embarrassed, but his face was indeed a little anxious.

He probably still wanted to rush somewhere quickly. This is Yosuke Hirata.

He is one of the more outstanding freshmen who joined the football club soon after he entered school and became a regular player.

Vice President Nagumo was also in the football club, and mentioned this junior’s name several times in the student council.

However, Horikita Manabu sent a message asking Hachiman and Suzune to come to the office to praise them.

But it turned out that it was Hikigaya Hachiman and Hirata Yosuke who showed up.

Horikita Suzune didn’t come. Horikita Manabu felt ignored? Did she reject his invitation?

Or Hikigaya, didn’t you notify her in time? Or is there another way to say it?

But when he looked at it from another angle, Manabu understood.

I see, it’s not that Suzune chose to ignore me.

Phew! He felt relieved for some reason. To be honest, he just didn’t want to accept that his stupid but cute little sister would ever do that? Not to him, right?

Yeah, that’s right. Suzune would never ignore me like this....definitely....It must be Hikigaya again.

The President convinced himself like this. He probably understands what Hikigaya means, probably because Suzune is his sister, and if she came to the student council because of their similar appearances, the relationship between brother and sister may be directly exposed.

And it’s not a good thing for both of them. That’s why he deliberately didn’t let his sister appear with him.

So, he was protecting his sister in disguise. This directly scored good points in Manabu’s heart, as an older brother he was impressed.

He’s surprisingly...... a very considerate person. I didn’t expect this behaviour from a poisonous guy like him.

”If you have something to do, of course you can leave first,” Horikita Manabu didn’t object, and said in a slightly warm tone, ”But Hikigaya, you have to stay.”

Of course, you have to stay.

”Huh?” Hachiman looked over in surprised. Why me?

”I still have a vacancy for a secretary position here, what do you think?” Horikita Manabu directly offered him to join the Student council, feeling very impressed.

But it directly shattered Katsuragi’s heart into pieces. Didn’t this guy break the school camera? Why him?

He was really confused by the President’s revelation.

”President!” When Tachibana Akane, who had been standing quietly on the side, heard this, she suddenly became anxious and looked at Horikita Manabu hurriedly.

She is the secretary, and now there is another one. Doesn’t it mean she is no longer needed?

So, was there really something going on between these two?! Horikita-kun, how could you do something like this to me?!

She knew this junior was troublesome, her women intuition was sending danger signals to her head, the moment these two started talking in code languages in the student council.

Tachibana Akane was very displeased, and had an ugly expression on her face.

”....” Katsuragi. He looked at the secretary’s facial expression with eyes full of compassion, as if riding the same boat.

President, please take a look! Even your secretary, Tachibana-senpai didn’t want this delinquent to join the Student council?!

”The student council is about to change.” Horikita looked at her while frowned slightly, and then said, ”In this case, it is also necessary to train the next generation of cadres.”

”Y-yes, I understand.” But Tachibana still looked reluctant but nodded her head with a small blush, when President stared at her with his confused gaze. She found it really alluring, for some reason.

And felt her heartbeat rising, feeling a little hot, but Tachibana couldn’t fan herself with the notebook she was holding.

Because Sakayanagi and Katsuragi are still present here.

”Is this actually an invitation from the Student council?!” Katsuragi couldn’t hold back any longer, and complained to the President, obviously disagreeing with his choice.

Is Horikita University, taking his job seriously?

Is this some kind of joke among the upperclassmen?! Katsuragi really couldn’t understand this appointment.

Is this nepotism, does President know this guy from somewhere? Are you really inviting students from Class D to join the student council and not A?

Katsuragi thought that he was being discriminated, very unfair. Isn’t the school’s motto that ’Strength is paramount?’ He looked at Hachiman with eyes full of disdain.

”...” Hachiman. What’s his problem?

Although Horikita Manabu had already invited him once, he was now asked in front of two representatives of Class A, who had just been ridiculed.

This is really a long face. But President Horikita, this will only make it more difficult for him.

Didn’t he see Sakayanagi smiling with her eyes, and Katsuragi’s look of utter contempt, as if he couldn’t accept this reality?

He’ll probably investigate me seriously in the future. But now Horikita Manabu seems to be still waiting for his reply.

”Being a member of the student council, it looks pretty good.” Hachiman didn’t even hide his unhappy face, and asked for an alternative in a polite manner, ”But I’m used to being alone, so can this position be reserved? I want to appoint someone else.”

”Oh?” After hearing what Hachiman said, Horikita looked over with interest, he didn’t care about his unhappy face. To be honest, Manabu Horikita felt like he could get along with this person.

He knew that the other party’s target was also Class A. In this school, Strength is paramount. The student council has great authority, and becoming a member will also be beneficial to promotion.

That’s why Katsuragi discovered this and started trying to submit the application three weeks ago.

”I approve of your request.” Horikita Manabu didn’t reject him like the others, ”But if you want to choose the person, then I can only give you a position as a disciplinary committee member.”

Generally speaking, the disciplinary committee member is responsible for checking conduct, but in this school, it is probably the least important position in the student council.

Checking behavioral norms? Isn’t this just being stupid? This is what the school is investigating in the first place.

Since the students are all boarding school, there is no need to be checked at the door. So, this kind of position is similar to a miscellaneous fish.

It is indeed not cost-effective to change from a secretary to a trash fish. But.

”Then please keep it for now.” Hachiman didn’t care, he hasn’t decided to join the student council yet.

There is something wrong with the students at Horikita University, so Hachiman doesn’t think it will be smooth sailing after he joins. Instead, he may be asked to deal with some troublesome things.

But before, Katsuragi wanted to join the office, because the Strength of this school is paramount and the student council has great authority, so having an insider, is a good thing for the class.

Therefore, although Hachiman refused, he did not refuse completely.

It’s just hard to select that person.

Yosuke’s mother, was very busy taking care of problem children in our class, and the Horikita Suzune well ...she was President’s younger sister, and directly joined the student council.

It sounds like nepotism.

Although Horikita Manabu might be said to be a fair person, she might become an offensive weapon for other classes.

So, it doesn’t work either. What about Sakura? In the last Sudo incident, she was also a witness, so it would be nice to give her a reward.

But if she is asked to join the student council, does she still have to report it? Just coming to report alone may be a burden for her who is afraid of strangers.

Therefore, this candidate is somewhat difficult to choose. Then only Kushida-san is left.

It’s just that she is not someone who actively commits herself to class competition, so this spot was instantly vacant.

　　...

Because being called out was probably for giving praise.....or in Class A’s case, dissing them, the matter ended, and Horikita Manabu was busy with other things, so everyone chose to leave.

Hirata, on the other hand, was in a hurry to attend club activities. He was forcefully dragged here by Hachiman.

In fact, this is also a sign that Hachiman has no one on his side.

Horikita Suzune cannot be brought to the student council for the time being, and other candidates are not suitable.

That is to say. Is that really the case?

You still need to have a reliable partner, and this must be more convenient than Horikita-san.

Only. ”Hikigaya” Hachiman found himself being called out.

The other party was Katsuragi Kohei, whom he had met once before at the entrance of the student council.

”Is something wrong?” Hachiman looked over, slightly curious.

”...” Katsuragi. ’Can’t this guy read the atmosphere?....maybe I should just leave for now?

”Nothing” Finally, making his decision, Katsuragi shook his bald head, then turned around and left.

If he stands here any longer, there are very high chances of getting a migraine. And his brain was already about to shut down after that meeting.

This is probably why he failed to enter the student council, but he was only in Class C... No, Hikigaya was once a member of Class D,

Is this really a mistake on the part of Horikita Manabu or is it because I didn’t see through Hikigaya’s facade of being a trouble maker?

Maybe he is not a weak being after all. However, no matter which side it is, it’s his shortcoming.

He didn’t see it through. So, Katsuragi just left.

Sakayanagi Arisu seemed to be trying to make up for the rudeness of her classmate. The little princess of Class A gently pinched the hem of her skirt and bowed.

”That’s amazing, Hikigaya-kun.” Sakayanagi again started praising, with a cute smile ”You have gained the approval of President Horikita.”

”Well, the president is a smart person,” Hachiman just shrugged, like if it’s an obvious thing.

”You are really rude!” Sakayanagi pouted, and looked at him with an angry face?

”If modesty is useful, there is no need to ask.” Hachiman gave her a small smile, imitating her own behaviour from that day at the Keyaki Mall.

”Haha...” Sakayanagi smiled, but she didn’t find it funny. She immediately understood what he was trying to say.

In other words, this guy was teasing her!

”Then let me ask, why not just join the student council?” Then Sakayanagi changed the topic, and tried to open the other party’s old wounds.

”Sakayanagi, as you know, I am in the lower class and...very weak,” Hachiman said with a sad expression.

”I see, then what price do you want?”

Sakayanagi gained a new insight, this guy really likes to talk in riddles.

Why don’t you just ask for my money outright?! Do you really want to be supported by another person that much?

When she first entered this school, she knew that strength came first and points came first, and with points you could buy anything.

Indeed. If you want to join the student union, then buy it.

Spend money to buy a spot. But it might be more beautiful to get the price straight from the President.

As for Hikigaya-kun...

”How about....One million points? You can afford it, right?” Hachiman said such incredulous things making her speechless.

She couldn’t respond to his offer for several seconds. It looks like her brain had paused, and couldn’t understand the stimulation.

”...” Sakayanagi. “This is really a big mistake. If it is the position of secretary, then one million may be available, but it is just a scumbag disciplinary committee member!” This time she was really angry, and yelled out in a louder voice than expected.

Very unlady-like behaviour.

Poison! She was being ripped off!

’One million? For a fishing position? No thanks!’ She didn’t want this kind of stuff.

Sakayanagi lowered the price, with an unhappy expression. ”Three hundred thousand!” She didn’t find this joke funny at all.

Because if he is just a fish, he can only act as eyes and ears in the student council.

It doesn’t have much effect. Only has the name of joining the student council. In the competition between the two parties in their Class A, having someone serve as a member of the Student Council is just the icing on the cake.

Although the price was quoted, Sakayanagi continued. ”It seems that you found that the student council was troublesome or a person who sounds like a hassle to deal with, so you want to throw away the pot on my head!”

”That’s why you refused to enter!” Sakayanagi laid out all the facts in front of him, she knew this person was hopeless.

”...” ’Then, you are so smart!’ Hachiman once again agrees that genius is a terrifying creature.

’So, if Sakayanagi Arisu is in charge of Class A, how will my class climb up?’

That’s why, the only plan is to hope Class A will split, and then support Katsuragi to fight against her without letting her join the playground?

It’s just that Hachiman hasn’t thought about giving up his position as the Disciplinary committee member of the Miscellaneous fish to the Katsuragi’s kindergarten.

In this way, he returned to class, because Suzune was still waiting inside.
