A New Life in Fairy Tail

The defensive measures were divided into several parts.

The first and most important was the magic power collection device. Noah modified a super-large lacrima, allowing it to gather ambient Ethernano from the air and the earth over a wide area, ensuring a fast collection speed. He also left a dedicated port for people to directly supply it with magic power and numerous other interfaces to add various functions in the future. Noah connected this device to several other super-large lacrimas he had prepared and buried them all deep beneath the guild’s basement. These other lacrimas served as batteries to store the collected magic for other functions.

After these basic preparations were made, he began to add the features.

Function 1: Defense. The primary function was a shield to defend against enemy attacks. By referencing the guild’s grand defensive magic, Fairy Sphere, as well as various other defensive spells, Noah developed a large-scale spherical protection magic. When activated, it would completely enclose the guild, the library, and trier, Noah removed Fairy Sphere’s time-freezing ability. This, however, lowered the overall defensive effect. So, Noah added various other features to compensate, such as absorbing attack energy and converting it to power the shield, transferring or reflecting attacks it couldn’t absorb, and dispersing the force of any impact across the entire surface instead of a single point. It could also block poison, curses, and drastic temperature changes. He added every defensive capability he could think of and create. Most importantly, inspired by Fairy Glitter, it could also gather the light of the sun, moon, and stars to increase its defensive power.

4He then turned this spell into a magic item using a lacrima, connected it to the power collection device, and buried it. When an attack of a certain power level approaches the guild, this magic will automatically activate, providing all-around protection.

Noah tested it in the wild. As long as it had sufficient magic power, the shield could block all attacks. However, defending against high-power attacks consumed a massive amount of magic. He tried attacking it with his own Starlight Breaker, a spell with the power of dozens of Jupiter Cannons. The magic stored in the several super-large lacrimas was rapidly depleted. Noah quickly cancelled the spell to avoid damaging the device, but the shield held without breaking. This proved its defensive power was sufficient.

Function 2: Internal Dampener. This was to reduce the maintenance costs for the guild. Thanks to the boundless energy of the members, especially Natsu, Gray, Erza, and Mirajane, who fought almost daily and often used magic, Noah set certain restrictions on the use of magic inside the guild hall. Spells above a certain power level would be weakened, and the excess magic would be collected and stored. In the event of an invasion, if an enemy breached the outer shield, this effect would weaken their magic, but it would not affect anyone with a Fairy Tail guild mark.

Function 3: Weaponry. Being passively beaten was not the Fairy Tail way. If an enemy came to their door, they had to have a weapon to fight back. Noah installed a hidden Magic Convergent Cannon - Jupiter on the guild roof. His improved version was ten times more powerful than a standard model and capable of long-range targeting.

Function 4: Support Field. Referencing the abilities of Tenrou Island, this function would only activate when the main shield was up. It would create a field inside the barrier that enhanced the magic power and life force of guild members and accelerated their recovery speed. It could also dispel various abnormal statuses. Even for powerful curses or poisons that couldn’t be immediately cured, it would suppress their effects and prevent the injury from worsening. However, the system would still passively scan members daily and sound an alarm if any abnormal statuses were detected.

Function 5: Data Management. This function connected to his Archive magic. Noah created a magic item from a lacrima, linked it to the power collection device, and buried it in the basement. Guild members could now operate the system through a reserved interface at the main guild counter. Permissions were set according to a member’s duties. The receptionist and the Master could use it to contact other members in real-time. Member data, request details, and other information would be stored inside for the Master to review at any time.

Function 6: Surveillance. Based on his own Wide-Area Detection Magic, this could scan for high-magic individuals within a 100-kilometer radius of Fairy Tail, with precision increasing at closer ranges. It could also record magic signatures into the Archive to distinguish friend from foe and would sound an alarm if an unknown high-magic individual entered the detection range.

Originally, Noah had wanted to imitate the Magic Council and put a magic collection device in low-earth orbit. The guild even had the perfect spell for it: Fairy Glitter, which gathers and condenses the light of the sun, moon, and stars. In orbit, with no obstructions, the power of Fairy Glitter would be at its absolute maximum. If he could successfully place it there and turn it into a satellite cannon, remotely controlled from the ground, it would be a nightmare for any enemy.
