A New Life in Fairy Tail

The other guild members were curious about what was happening, but seeing that Noah was there, they didn’t come over, and instead went back to their own business.

When the girls’ voices began to quiet down, Ultear walked over and gently patted their shoulders. ”Alright, let’s get up first. We can talk about everything else inside.”

The older sister was the first to react. She pulled her sister up, wiped her tears with the back of her hand, and said to Ultear and the others, ”I’m sorry, we just got a little too emotional.”

”It’s alright, we understand. It’s a reunion between sisters, after all. Come on over here, and we can talk.” Ultear and Erza each took one of the sisters and led them to a table in the corner of the guild. Noah went to report to Makarov.

After he had finished talking with the Master, he returned to where the girls were. They were in the middle of comforting the two sisters. Seeing Noah approach, the older sister quickly stood up and gave him a deep bow.

”Thank you so much! Thank you for saving both of us!”

”It was really just good luck. I usually teleport straight back. If I hadn’t decided to walk this time and happened to pass by your village, I wouldn’t have been able to save Yukino, let alone you.”

”But the result is that you did save us, isn’t it? That’s all that matters. By the way, my name is Sorano. Sorano Aguria.”

”Ah, I’m Noah. Noah Flair.” Noah was a little surprised by her sudden introduction but figured she just wanted to formally introduce themselves to each other. Ultear’s gaze, however, sharpened instantly from the side.

Seeing that their emotions had stabilized, Noah asked, ”What do you two plan to do now? Would you like to join Fairy Tail?”

Sorano’s eyes lit up. ”Can we? Can we really join Fairy Tail?” she asked eagerly.

”Of course, you can. I think Gramps—that is, the Guild Master—will also agree. Why don’t we go and ask him now?”

Without saying much more, Noah stood up and walked towards Makarov. Sorano took Yukino’s hand and followed him. Erza and Kagura also tagged along. Ultear watched Noah’s back for a moment, her thoughts unreadable, before she slowly stood up and followed as well.

When they reached the counter, Noah said to Makarov, ”Gramps, I’d like to invite Sorano and Yukino to join Fairy Tail.”

Makarov turned to the two sisters, who had also come up to him. ”Do you want to join Fairy Tail?”

”Yes, we want to join. We’re so young, it’s hard for us to support ourselves. If we join Fairy Tail, we can find work to live. And... Noah was the one who saved us. We trust Fairy Tail.” Sorano seriously explained her situation. Although she knew he was already aware of it, she hoped this would increase her chances of joining—a small, shrewd calculation on her part. And it was true that she trusted Noah and Fairy Tail deeply; they were her saviors.

Makarov, of course, understood this. But he didn’t see anything wrong with what she was doing. In fact, he liked her even more for it; she was using her wits for the sake of herself and her family.

”I’ll go wherever my sister goes,” Yukino, who had been clinging to her sister this whole time, couldn’t help but add. ”And I like everyone in Fairy Tail.”

Hearing this, a smile spread across Makarov’s face. ”Of course! Fairy Tail welcomes you!”

Sorano couldn’t help but hug Yukino and start crying again, this time with tears of relief. Joining Fairy Tail would solve most of their current problems. She and her sister wouldn’t have to live such a hard life anymore.

”You should be happy you’re joining Fairy Tail. Why are you crying?” Noah said from the side.

Sorano wiped her tears. ”You’re right. I should be happy.”

”To celebrate Sorano and Yukino joining Fairy Tail, let’s have a feast!” Makarov shouted, standing on top of the counter.

”YEAH! PARTY TIME!”

”Welcome, Sorano and Yukino!”

”These two little sisters are so cute! Did you bring them back, Noah?”

”You brought back two more pretty girls! You’re amazing, Noah!”

The surrounding guild members were jeering. Ultear’s eyes instantly became sharp as daggers, and Erza also turned to look at Noah. With a perfectly righteous expression, Noah said to the crowd, ”Of course I just happened to see that they needed help, so I helped them! Are you bastards looking for a fight?!”

Without waiting for their reply, he punched a smirking Macao, sending him flying into a wall. Wakaba started laughing. ”You’re so lame! Taken out by Noah in one punch!” Macao pulled himself out of the wall, immediately charged at Wakaba, and punched him. The two of them started fighting, and the people nearby quickly joined in, until no one could tell who was fighting whom anymore.

Sorano, who had been blushing from the compliments just a moment ago, was now completely dumbfounded as she watched the guild descend into a massive brawl. She began to doubt her choice. Was joining Fairy Tail really a good idea?

”Sigh. Alright, don’t mind them. This is normal. Let’s get you registered first.” Ultear sighed, looking at Noah’s back, then calmly led Sorano to the side.

Erza nodded in agreement. ”That’s right. It’s basically a small brawl every three days and a big one every five. But this is also how they communicate their feelings.”

”Is this kind of communication really normal? Hey, hey! Someone just got hit into the wall! He’s not even coming out!” Sorano watched in horror as a figure flew past, followed by another guild member getting embedded in the wall in a spread-eagle pose.

Yukino was also clinging tightly to her sister’s clothes, clearly terrified.

”It’s fine! Noah’s healing skills are top-notch! A little treatment and he’ll be up and running again tomorrow!” Erza said, nodding emphatically.

Sorano felt a lump in her throat. ”I don’t think that’s the point!”

”Just give up. This is their daily life. You can’t change it. In fact, you’ll probably be assimilated. Look, Erza has already blended in perfectly.” Ultear calmly dodged a flying bottle, then nodded towards Erza. Sorano looked and saw that Erza was already looking eager to jump into the fray, with Kagura holding her back.

Sorano quickly took Yukino and followed Ultear to get their registration done. Makarov took out the stamp and applied their new guild marks.

And just like that, amidst the chaos, the sisters Sorano and Yukino officially became members of Fairy Tail.
