A New Life in Fairy Tail

Ur sighed and said to her two disciples, ”I told you long ago that if you travel to the western countries, you will find powerful wizards as numerous as mountains. Don’t be trapped by what you see in front of you. I want you to see a much wider world.”

”Look at Noah. He’s the same age as you, yet his strength is already at this level. I can’t imagine how strong he’ll be in another couple of years.”

”In terms of both magical power and intensity, Noah is already stronger than I am. And his physical strength is especially ridiculous. What kind of body must he have to be able to trade blows with Deliora? Even with magical protection, that’s an absurd level of physical power.”

”It seems that after this is over, I’ll have to take you all on a journey to see the wider world. It will be good for your growth.”

Lyon didn’t say anything about Ur being the strongest. Noah’s performance in this battle had completely stunned him. The sheer scale of everything that was happening was more than enough to prove Noah’s strength. And what made it even more unbelievable was Noah’s age. They were about the same age; he was still struggling to learn magic, and the creations he made with his Ice-Make were only two or three meters tall. Meanwhile, Noah had sent the dozens-of-meters-tall Deliora flying with a single kick. The gap between them was not just large; it was immense.

Ultear, standing behind Ur, asked a question. ”Mama, are there many kids as strong as Noah?”

”Er... probably not many. I would imagine he is very rare. But even if there aren’t many children as strong as Noah, just imagine how powerful the adults who raised him must be.”

Ultear nodded thoughtfully.

In the distance, Noah and Deliora simultaneously threw a final, powerful punch. The collision sent both of them flying backward. Noah’s feet dug two deep trenches in the ground as he slid back a great distance. Deliora also stumbled back several steps before stabilizing itself.

The moment it regained its footing, a bright light began to glow in its mouth. After charging for a moment, a beam of energy shot out, heading straight for Noah.

Noah leaped to the side. The beam struck the ground, then raked upwards, carving a line into the distance before it ended. A massive wall of fire erupted from the path the beam had scorched, and a wave of heat washed over the area.

Noah teleported to just below Deliora’s chin. Golden magic power gathered in his right foot, and jets of light magic erupted from his heel, accelerating him.

”Light-Speed Kick!”

He kicked Deliora upwards, launching it into the air. He then teleported next to the mid-air demon and, with another kick, sent it flying horizontally.

BOOM!

Deliora crashed to the ground, creating a deep crater and a massive cloud of dust that instantly obscured its form.

Before the dust could settle, a flash of light shot out from within the cloud, followed by a beam that lanced towards Noah in the air. Noah teleported away, coming to a stop above the dust cloud. He crossed his hands in front of his chest, making the ”OK” gesture with both of them. Two magic circles appeared in front of his hands.

”Yasakani no Magatama!”

Countless light bullets emerged from the magic circles, raining down into the smoke-filled area below.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The sound of explosions was incessant. Suddenly, a huge chunk of rock flew out from the smoke, hurtling towards Noah, but it was blown to bits by the light bullets mid-flight. At the same moment the rock was destroyed, another beam shot up from the ground towards Noah. He teleported away, forced to stop his attack.

Noah landed on the ground. The dust cloud on the other side had also dispersed, revealing Deliora, covered in blood.

Noah noticed something unusual. Although its recovery speed was still fast, it was significantly slower than it had been at the beginning of the fight.

Noah smiled at the demon. ”So your recovery isn’t infinite after all. Your immortality has its limits. If I just keep wearing you down, you’ll eventually die.”

”And by the way, when it comes to recovery, I’m pretty confident in my own abilities. Let’s see whose is better!”

Deliora let out a great roar and fired another beam from its mouth. Noah jumped to the side to avoid it.

”Hey now, don’t be in such a hurry. Let’s take our time.”

Noah raised both his hands, making a gun shape with each of them. Golden magic power gathered at the tips of his index fingers. A beam of light shot from his right hand. He then pulled his right hand back and extended his left, firing another beam. Right, then left, then right again, over and over. He even provided his own sound effects.

”Light Spear! Pew~ pew~ pew~”

Deliora’s body was massive, and it wasn’t fast. It wasn’t that it didn’t want to dodge; Noah’s attacks were just too fast and too dense. It had no choice but to try and counterattack. But the giant rocks it threw were blasted apart by Noah’s beams, and the beams it fired from its mouth were easily avoided with teleportation.

Deliora was completely unable to land an effective blow on Noah, while an endless series of explosions erupted all over its body.

Gradually, its body was once again covered in golden marks. Seeing that the marks now covered its entire body, Noah leaped backward to a safe distance. He raised his right hand, two fingers extended like a sword. A magic circle appeared in front of his hand, and another, massive magic circle appeared in front of Deliora.

”Mark Detonation!”

BOOM!

An even larger mushroom cloud than before erupted from Deliora’s position. The massive explosion scraped away a deep layer of the surrounding ground. A huge shockwave carrying dirt and debris blew outwards in all directions. Noah quickly teleported into the air to avoid it.

After the shockwave passed, the wind rushed in, blowing away the dust and smoke from the explosion and revealing Deliora’s wound-covered body. It was panting heavily, down on one knee. Its wounds were healing, but the speed was extremely slow. Its regenerative ability had clearly been greatly weakened.

”Looks like you’re badly hurt. Your recovery has gotten worse. You’re not far from being worn down to nothing.” Noah was also breathing a little heavily. Even with his vast magic power and quick recovery, continuously outputting such powerful magic was still taxing.

Hearing this, Deliora took a step back. A clear look of fear and retreat was in its eyes. The reason it had been so rampant and destructive before was its immortality. Now that its immortality was failing and it was on the verge of being worn down to death, its first thought was to escape.

Noah, of course, saw its hesitation. ”I can’t let you run away. I spent so much effort to get you into this state. It would be a huge loss if you escaped, wouldn’t it?”

Noah clapped his hands together. A golden magic circle appeared in front of him. At the same time, two massive golden magic circles appeared, one above Deliora’s head and one beneath its feet.

”Swords of Revealing Light!”

Three giant swords of light materialized around Deliora—one to its left front, one to its right front, and one behind it, forming an equilateral triangle. The moment the swords appeared, Deliora’s movements were completely suppressed. It could be seen slowly opening its mouth, but nothing came out. The effect of Swords of Revealing Light was to restrict the opponent’s movements and prevent them from attacking, unless they could break the swords.

”Now that your movements are temporarily sealed, I can try to imitate that famous move. It’s a very famous one, you know.”
