A New Life in Fairy Tail

”It’s been for some time now. We contact each other regularly, but I suddenly didn’t hear from him. I sent people to look, but there’s been no news back yet.”

”If you have regular contact, then Grandpa Rob has most likely run into some kind of trouble. I’ll go look for him. Gramps, give me his address.”

Hearing this, Makarov’s heart tightened. He quickly gave Noah Rob’s address. After gathering a few things, Noah headed out.

He split off a Thought Projection, imbued with half of his own magic power and full combat capability, and sent it to stand guard in Rosemary Village. His real body, meanwhile, rushed towards Rob’s home, hoping he could still find a trail to follow.

He teleported to the vicinity of Rob’s house, only to see flames lighting up the sky and thick smoke billowing upwards. Noah’s heart sank, and he hurried over. When he got closer, he saw many masked people capturing villagers. This was the magic cult that worshipped black magic. Seeing a few cultists in the act of grabbing people, Noah fired off several energy blasts, knocking them down instantly.

Next, Noah activated his detection magic and found a large number of cult members spread throughout the village. He clapped his hands together, and a gigantic golden magic circle unfolded in the sky, covering the entire village. The people below stared up at the massive formation with expressions of pure shock.

”Fairy Law!”

A dazzling light erupted from Noah, instantly enveloping the village. After a few seconds, the light receded back into Noah’s body. Every single member of the dark magic cult in the town froze in place. The next second, they all collapsed to the ground. They had all been critically injured and knocked unconscious, completely unable to fight back.

Noah didn’t kill them, choosing to leave their fates to the surviving villagers. However, if the villagers didn’t provide aid, it would be up to luck whether the cultists could survive until the Magic Council arrived. He then used his guild mark to contact Makarov.

”Gramps, Grandpa Rob’s village was just attacked by a dark magic cult. Notify the Royal Army and the Magic Council to come and help. I’m going to find Grandpa Rob now.”

The expression on Makarov’s face immediately grew tense, and he quickly agreed.

After ending the call, Noah ran towards Rob’s house, marveling at how much magic the instant-cast Fairy Law consumed, especially when covering so many targets.

By the time he reached Rob’s home, he had already recovered a good portion of his magic. He found the door broken down and the inside a complete mess, with signs of being ransacked everywhere. There was no one inside. He went out, grabbed a heavily injured cultist from the side of the road, healed him just enough to wake him up, and then slapped him several times. ”Where were the people you captured taken?” he demanded.

The cult member was stubborn. ”We won’t let you get away with this! Just you wait!” he yelled.

Noah, of course, did not stand on ceremony. He slapped him several more times, healing him and hitting him in a vicious cycle until the man’s face was swollen like a pig’s head and several of his teeth had been knocked out. Only then did the trembling cultist point in a direction. Noah immediately dropped the man and rushed off where he had pointed.

He used his detection magic to check for large gatherings of people. Finding none, he would teleport a certain distance forward and continue scanning. He quickly reached the shore, where he saw a fleet of ships docked in the distance. This must have been what the cult was using to transport the people they had captured. He could see a large number of cultists moving about, forcing captives onto the ships. Noah scanned the crowd but couldn’t find Rob, guessing he had already been taken aboard.

Noah hid behind a tree and used his detection magic to survey the area, confirming there was an extremely large number of cult members present.

He sighed to himself. Looks like this is going to be exhausting. Good thing I’ve mostly recovered.

Taking a deep breath, he clapped his hands together again. A gigantic golden magic circle once more unfolded, blanketing the sky. This one was even larger than the last, and beads of sweat were already forming on Noah’s forehead.

”Fairy Law!”

Light filled the space between heaven and earth. After a few seconds, the light vanished, and every single cultist was left unconscious and critically wounded.

Noah left them alive so they could be interrogated to find their backers and the locations of their other bases, and to rescue anyone else who had been captured. After resting behind the tree for a few minutes and recovering about seventy to eighty percent of his strength, Noah emerged and ran towards the shore.

He began freeing the captives, having them tie up the incapacitated cultists. When some of them were reluctant to take orders from someone so young, Noah simply fired a magic blast that created a huge crater nearby, and all opposition ceased. He went from ship to ship, freeing people and searching for Rob.

Finally, on one of the ships, he found him. Rob had numerous injuries and was in a very poor mental state. Noah quickly rushed forward and took out his potions to begin treatment.

When Rob saw it was Noah, he breathed a sigh of relief. ”It’s you, Noah. Thank you for coming to save me.”

After the treatment, Rob felt much better, and Noah was also greatly relieved. ”It’s alright, Grandpa Rob. Gramps didn’t receive your regular call, so I came looking for you. Oh, right, I forgot to contact him.”

Taking out a communication lacrima, Noah contacted Makarov. Seeing Rob next to him, Makarov was also relieved. He told Noah that the Royal Army and the Magic Council were on their way and would arrive soon, and asked him to wait.

After finishing Rob’s treatment, Noah helped him to the shore to rest, then continued to the other ships to rescue the remaining captives. By the time the Royal Army and the Magic Council arrived, Noah had already cleared every ship and brought all the captives safely ashore. After communicating with the officials, he handed everyone over to their care.

Just then, Noah received a notification from his Thought Projection: Rosemary Village was also under attack. He immediately turned to the leaders of the army and council units.

”You need to send people to Rosemary Village. It’s also being attacked.”

”Rosemary Village? That’s quite far from here. Was it also attacked by the dark magic cult?”

”Yes. Send your men there quickly. My comrade is holding them off there now. I’m heading over first.”

Not wanting to waste time explaining Thought Projections, Noah said a quick goodbye to the officials and teleported to the vicinity of Rosemary Village.

Meanwhile, after Noah’s Thought Projection arrived at Rosemary Village, it didn’t see any cult members. It thought no one was attacking. It used detection magic to check the immediate area but found nothing.

After expanding the range, however, it discovered a very large group of people brimming with magic power, moving rapidly in their direction from ten kilometers away.

Noah’s Thought Projection rushed to the village chief’s house, banging on the door and shouting, ”Chief, open the door, quickly!”

The chief came out and saw it was Noah. ”It’s you. Why are you in such a hurry? What’s wrong?”

”Chief, have the villagers evacuate immediately! A dark magic cult is on its way to attack the village! Other villages have already been attacked!”
