A Sect from a Spirit Vein

Chapter 294: Chapter 254: Secret Meeting with Hee Yangchen

Almost instantly, Hee Yangchen reacted, though shocked, his eyes widened, and he redundantly asked: ”When did this happen?”

Lu Qian, on the other hand, was quite calm: ”Naturally, it was before the great battle at Yuqing Mountain. Unfortunately, I only learned of this after the battle, and it was too late to make amends.”

Now everything was completely clear, Hee Yangchen abruptly stood up, both shocked and furious, spiritual pressure surged around him as he shouted: ”How dare you deceive a Zhenren! You’re courting death!”

The undisguised killing intent enveloped Lu Qian, but he remained expressionless, his majestic and powerful spiritual pressure hidden and unmanifested, as a five-colored light flashed across his body. He even leisurely picked up a tea cup and took a sip.

A sharp cry echoed through the Council Hall, Guh Niqiang’s pupils had turned crimson gold, and flames rose from her body, instantly reducing several chairs and tables to ashes.

Only then did Hee Yangchen realize that the Yunshan Sect Leader before him was no longer the Qi Cultivator he could easily manipulate in the past.

”Lu Qian, you really have the guts of a dog!” His face turned iron green, ”Now your lies are easily exposed, the Zhenren will definitely kill you! Yunshan Sect is headed for disaster! Pleading with me now won’t help you, not only can I not help you, but I’ve also been dragged down by you! In hindsight, I shouldn’t have pleaded for you back then and let you be executed.”

Lu Qian shook his head: ”Elder Hee, you’ve always supported my sect, and taken care of me, for which I am deeply grateful. But the situation is such that our two factions are now tied together. If my sect is convicted of a major crime, you won’t achieve your dream of becoming the Sect Leader.”

With a bang, the table in front of Hee Yangchen was smashed to pieces by his palm: ”You dare threaten me?”

”It’s not a threat.” Lu Qian remained calm, his demeanor of having a hidden card made Hee Yangchen even more angry and astonished, ”It’s merely stating a fact that our two factions should work together to get through this crisis.”

Hee Yangchen laughed out of anger and slowly sat down: ”A way? What way is there? You know my Supreme Elder’s temper, not killing you on the spot is already a huge blessing for you. Once he’s recovered and hears about the destruction of Bichao Mountain, it won’t be surprising if Yunshan Sect is wiped out by the entire Hek Sect!”

”I only hid the enmity between Master Moyun and me, I won’t elaborate further. But just as you pleaded for me, I’ve always stood by the Xuanguang Sect, and even led the attack against Master Moyun, never betraying Xuanguang Sect.” Lu Qian wasn’t anxious, ”I believe that with this premise, there’s room to maneuver.”

Hee Yangchen snorted coldly: ”These words are useless to me because once my Zhenren knows about the destruction of Bichao Mountain, do you think he will have the patience to listen to your explanation?”

The room went silent for a moment, then Lu Qian suddenly spoke: ”If by then, Sanshan County has already deployed a large army, do you think the Zhenren would become patient?”

Hee Yangchen was startled and shouted: ”Lu Qian, what do you mean!”

Lu Qian responded loudly without fear: ”There’s no need for any meaning from me. Zhongming County’s power suddenly dwindling, wouldn’t Sanshan County react? It’s not just Sanshan County, perhaps Xinghu and Liangxiang Counties might also jump in, and then how will Xuanguang Sect respond? Does Elder Hee not realize this? The Xuanguang Sect is in chaos now, with several Peak Masters eyeing the Sect Leader position, leaving them with no other thoughts.”

Hee Yangchen looked firmly at him for a moment, his expression rapidly changing, and gradually his voice lowered: ”Xinghu County has a non-aggression pact with us, and Liangxiang County has plenty of troubles, many are eyeing them, they wouldn’t dare act recklessly. But Sanshan County, they certainly would hear of it and come.”

Lu Qian slowly guided him: ”This is our opportunity. Elder Hee, you can go back and report to the Zhenren now and strengthen our defenses. Think about it, while everyone else in the sect is focusing on a little power, you consider the bigger picture, step forward, and even volunteer to take charge of the defenses. The Zhenren will surely look favorably upon you, and most importantly, if you can take on this responsibility, you could easily take control of the Qi Cultivator armies within the sect...”

Hee Yangchen’s eyes started to shine, he took a deep look at Lu Qian, his expression entirely eased: ”You certainly are a talent. But the Zhenren suffered heavy poisoning this time, it would take more than a month to successfully detoxify. As long as Sanshan County doesn’t truly mobilize their entire county to invade, we shouldn’t disturb him. I’ll leave a message first, then gather forces, justify resisting a strong enemy, although unable to mobilize the full force, still can recruit more cultivators to patrol the border, establishing early successes.”

Lu Qian’s heart fluttered, a month’s time, was it? That’s enough time for Sanshan County to react. There’s no worry that with Hee Yangchen on guard, Sanshan County won’t come. With hundreds of years of enmity, facing a heavily injured Golden Core and a weakened Foundation Establishment, how could Sanshan County not take action.

Hee Yangchen paused: ”You’re planning for Sanshan County to launch a large-scale attack so that the Zhenren can’t deal with you, right? Indeed, if tensions rise, they might even send you to the front lines to atone for your sins.”

Lu Qian relaxed slightly, smiling: ”At this moment, we rely on Elder Hee to speak a few good words for us. Our sect has always been loyal to Xuanguang Sect and Zhongming County, just caught up in this by unfortunate timing. Rather than the Zhenren wasting energy to eliminate us, isn’t it better for us to be utilized in the battlefield?”

Thinking that if Yunshan Sect could be saved, and further strengthen his own forces, achieving more in resisting Sanshan County, Hee Yangchen hesitated slightly but agreed: ”Fine, I’ll help you once more. But let me make it clear, facing my Zhenren, I have no assurances whatsoever. If the Zhenren insists on your execution, I advise you to bind yourself and await punishment, perhaps the Zhenren would spare Yunshan Sect.”

He spoke these words with utmost candor, in his mind, it was the most natural thing, as ordinary as saying one should eat when hungry.

Lu Qian nodded: ”I understand.”

Master Fengfeng, I’ve done all I can, I hope you don’t seek your death, don’t force me to kill you.

With everything laid out, the atmosphere in the hall finally eased a bit. Hee Yangchen even showed some concern: ”Your sect’s losing their Mountain Gate is not a lasting solution. There are presently two options, one is that if you contribute greatly in the impending confrontation with Sanshan County, you might be rewarded with a Spirit Vein after the battle. Rest assured, I will see to it for you.”

”The second option, there’s an immediate one in front of you.”

Lu Qian thought he was also going to mention Kongming Mountain, just as he was about to speak, Hee Yangchen interrupted him: ”Don’t mind if this Spirit Vein isn’t of high grade, mid-tier level two, it’s comparable to your previous Bichao Mountain. What do you think?”

Lu Qian was taken aback, suddenly realizing: ”Elder Hee, you mean the Shouzhuo Sect’s Mountain Gate?”
