War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

While the people from Fire Worship Sect were still stunned by the turn of events, Chen Yi Ru had a grave expression on his face as he looked at Duan Ling Tian. “Master…”

“What’s it?” Duan Ling Tian frowned when he saw the troubled expression on Chen Yi Ru’s face. It was his first time seeing Chen Yi Ru like that since Chen Yi Ru had decided to follow him. He was confused about what could have troubled Chen Yi Ru.

“Master, it would be bad if the matter about me and other Bodiless Celestials spread from the Fire Worship Sect!” Chen Yi Ru voiced out his concern, “The dragon and phoenix clans have forbidden us from simply revealing our identities and speaking about anything that has to do with Bodiless Celestials… If news about me and Bodiless Celestials spread from the Fire Worship Sect, I’m afraid those from the dragon and phoenix clans would be able to easily track the news back to me.” He paused for a moment as his expression darkened. “Once they find me, this matter will inevitably affect you as well, master.”

“You’re right.” Duan Ling Tian nodded in agreement when he heard Chen Yi Ru’s words. Even if he unleashed all his strength and cast all his techniques, his strength would only be comparable to a Six Tribulation Bodiless Celestials. The dragon and phoenix clans had Eighth Tribulation Bodiless Celestials. Even if they did not, they certainly had Seven Tribulation Bodiless Celestials. Currently, he was definitely not a match for Seven Tribulation Bodiless Celestials, let alone Eight Tribulation Bodiless Celestials. He knew he had to lay low and avoid attracting the attention of the dragon and phoenix clans before he got stronger.

After a while, Duan Ling Tian said, “It’s indeed unsuitable for this matter to spread from the Fire Worship Sect… However, I wish that more people know about Bodiless Celestials. Currently, the Bodiless Celestials from the Devil Clans have already begun to appear. There’s no reason for the human Bodiless Celestials to stay underground and mind their own affairs when the humankind is in danger! Naturally, we’ll have to discuss this matter further and come up with a plan before we do anything.”

After talking about it, Duan Ling Tian and Chen Yi Rru decided that those who were privy to the matter regarding Bodiless Celestials had to swear on the lightning penalty oath to not talk about Chen Yi Ru, the Four Tribulation Bodiless Celestials. However, they were free to talk about Duan Ling Tian.

‘If today’s matter spreads out, Tian Wu, Xue Nai, and the others will be able to find out that I’m the current successor of Fog Rain Progeny and the Sect Leader of Seven Absolutes Sect!’ Duan Ling Tian thought to himself. He could not wait to meet his friends again, especially Feng Tian Wu. A hint of tenderness could be seen on Duan Ling Tian’s face at this moment. ‘Tian Wu, we’ll be able to meet soon…’

Apart from Ke’er and Li Fei, Feng Tian Wu was the only one who was able to make Duan Ling Tian reveal such a tender expression. Throughout his journey, he had met many women. However, only these three women managed to touch his heart. He might have been impressed and somewhat tempted by some of the women, but he had always tried to close himself off from getting closer to them. This was due to the sense of responsibility he felt toward the three women.

After Duan Ling Tian finished dealing with the matters in Fire Worship Sect, he turned to Chen Yi Ru and gave an order, “San Dao, go to the central region and spread the news about Bodiless Celestials… I want everyone in the Dao Martial Saint Land to know about the existence of those reclusive people who are stronger than Eminent Celestials. Let everyone know about those who survived after failing the Celestial Ascension Tribulation, tell them about Bodiless Celestials!”

“Yes, master.” Chen Yi Ru left the Fire Worship Sect immediately after he had received his order.

After Chen Yi Ru left, under the watchful eyes of everyone present, Duan Ling Tian brought along his wife, Ke’er, and his daughter, Duan Si Ling, into the floating island where Tang Xuan, the former Sect Leader of Fire Worship Sect, used to live. Currently, it had become the cultivation place of the new sect leader, Gan Ru Yan.

Before Duan Ling Tian left with his wife and daughter, he reminded Gan Ru Yan, “I’ll leave the rest to you… Remember, you’re the Sect Leader of Fire Worship Sect henceforth. If anyone dares to act defiantly, let your two followers kill them!”

Whoosh! Whoosh!

As though they heard Duan Ling Tian’s words, the skinny and burly middle-aged men flew to Gan Ru Yan, flanking her, as soon as Duan Ling Tian left. These two middle-aged men were at the Eighth and Ninth Form of the Saint Celestial Stage respectively. Their auras, naturally, made the people present feel a sense of oppression.

Gan Ru Yan who was flanked by these two powerhouses seemed like a queen who ruled the world! When she finally regained her senses, she thought to herself helplessly as a bitter smile appeared on her face. ‘Did he just dump all this problem on me?’ Although that might have a kernel of truth, she knew Duan Ling Tian also did this out of kindness. Otherwise, based on her strength, it would take her at least 100 years before she would be fit to become the Sect Leader of Fire Worship Sect.

…

Meanwhile, Duan Ling Tian brought Ke’er and Duan Si Ling with him as he landed on the floating islands.

Ke’er looked at Duan Ling Tian appreciatively and said, “Brother Tian, thank you.”

“Silly girl, since she’s your sister, naturally, I’ll treat her as my sister as well. It’s only natural that I help her. You don’t have to thank me for this…” Duan Ling Tian knew what Ke’er was thanking him for without a need for her to elaborate.

It was a great honor and opportunity for Gan Ru Yan who was a disciple of the Fire Worship Sect to become a sect leader. She could not possibly be indifferent to becoming the sect leader of the sect. As the saying went, ‘A soldier who doesn’t want to be a general is not a good soldier’.

“Moreover, it’ll be beneficial for me as well if she becomes the sect leader.” Duan Ling Tian added.

However, Ke’er shook her head when she heard Duan Ling Tian’s words. “Brother Tian, you don’t have to comfort me with these words… I’m aware that with your current strength, it doesn’t matter who’s the new Sect Leader of Fire Worship Sect. They would still have to obey you regardless.” She was not stupid. She knew it made no difference to her husband who the new Sect Leader of Fire Worship Sect was. After all, with his strength, he could easily make them swear on the lightning penalty oath to serve him as master.

Duan Ling Tian smiled sheepishly when he realized Ke’er had seen through his thoughts. After a while, he turned to look at Duan Si Ling and asked, “Si Ling…why are you so quiet?”

Duan Si Ling looked at Duan Ling Tian with a hint of reluctance as she asked, “Daddy, is it true that you’re leaving mummy and me soon?”

“My silly daughter, what nonsense are you talking about?” Duan Ling Tian shook his head and felt rather baffled at his daughter’s words.

“I’m not talking nonsense!” Duan Si Ling pouted as she said glumly, “Earlier, I heard someone say that you won’t be able to stay in the Dao Martial Saint Land for long since you’ve become an Eminent Celestial. It won’t take long before you ascend to the Devata Realm!”

When Ke’er heard Duan Si Ling’s words, she could not help but tremble slightly. She had already mentally prepared herself for the day when Duan Ling Tian had to ascend to the Devata Realm. However, after she listened to her daughter’s words, the feeling of reluctance to part that she had forcefully suppressed previously began to surge in her heart again. She was instantly downcast.

Duan Ling Tian did not expect these words from Duan Si Ling so he was rendered speechless for a moment. He could coax her and reassure her, but time would prove it was a lie. It was inevitable that he would ascend to the Devata Realm soon. He did not want his daughter to see him as a liar. He wanted to maintain his flawless image after all.

When Ke’er saw Duan Ling Tian seemed to be at a loss over what to do and what to say, she quickly suppressed her own feelings and reassured her daughter. “Don’t worry, Si Ling. Although your daddy is an Eminent Celestial now, it would still take some time before he has to ascend to the Devata Realm…”

Duan Ling Tian heaved a sigh of relief when Ke’er came to his rescue.

…

There was no way the Fire Worship Sect would not descend into chaos after the death of Tang Xuan, the former Sect Leader of Fire Worship Sect! Moreover, he was killed by Duan Ling Tian, a former Guardian of Fire Worship Sect.

“Guardian Ling Tian didn’t decide to leave because Lord Sect Leader prohibited him from being with the Saint Girl, he decided to leave because he’s the current successor of the Fog Rain Progeny and the Sect Leader of Seven Absolutes Sect!”

Word about this began to spread through the entire Fire Worship Sect, causing a commotion in its wake.

It had only been a few years since the Seven Absolutes Sect appeared again. Apart from the successor of the Fog Rain Progeny, the other successors of the six Absolutes had already made themselves known and made a name for themselves in the Upper Province of the Dao Martial Saint Land. Everyone was, naturally, curious about the successor of the Fog Rain Progeny who had not shown up prior to this. Who knew the current successor of the Fog Rain Progeny would turn out to be Guardian Ling Tian from the Fire Worship Sect?

“After Duan Ling Tian revealed his identity, he instantly killed Lord Sect Leader?”

“H-how’s that possible? Lord Sect Leader was at the Ninth Form of the Saint Celestial Stage and he had the number one movement Divine Ability in the Dao Martial Saint Land. Even an Eminent Celestial might not be able to kill him!”

“Anyway, there’s no doubt that Duan Ling Tian had killed Lord Sect Leader…”

“Since Duan Ling Tian is the Sect Leader of the Seven Absolutes Sect, does this mean he’s going to kill us and eradicate the sect now that he has killed Lord Sect Leader?”

Everyone from the Fire Worship Sect could not help but feel terrified and worried when they thought about this.
