Berserk God of War

After explaining, the old man in the black robe cautiously observed Sikong Jing, this stranger...

He couldn’t stop worrying in his heart, wondering if this young man in black had really overheard something and was planning to use it to blackmail them for benefits?

Seeing the people of Black Copper Manor looking terrified, Sikong Jing still displayed a calm smile.

Then he softly asked, ”I’ve heard that the current ruling family of Holy Craftsman Mountain seized their position, and the previous ruler was someone from the lineage of Shuibo Lake. I wonder if this rumor is true?”

This was precisely what Sikong Jing wanted to inquire about.

To get the chess pieces of the Thousand Prison Tower to resolve to resist the Qianwang Holy Tower, they needed to know more about them.

As soon as Sikong Jing spoke, the elders of Black Copper Manor gaped in shock.

They then frantically looked around and, seeing that the people on the street had chased after the previous team of Holy Craftsman and no one was watching, they all breathed a sigh of relief.

Then, the old man in the black robe whispered, ”Young man, you can’t just say things like that. It’s a taboo in Fire Artisan City.”

The old man in the black robe was now completely baffled, wondering what the strange young man in black wanted to do.

Was he trying to blackmail with what he had just overheard?

But then he suddenly asked about such a taboo topic. Saying he’s just passing by to ask for directions didn’t seem right, and saying he’s reckless was certainly not true either—such a demeanor didn’t look like a reckless youth at all.

In short, the old man in the black robe didn’t want to get involved with such a topic and quickly warned not to let Sikong Jing drag them into trouble.

In response, Sikong Jing smiled again and softly replied, ”It seems you all said something earlier that could easily get you killed by Holy Craftsman Mountain, and I heard it, so now we’re even.”

As soon as the words fell, the elders opened their mouths in surprise, momentarily at a loss for words.

And Sikong Jing continued, ”Precisely because we’re even, I want to ask you about Shuibo Lake.”

Indeed, Sikong Jing wanted to ask about such taboos.

Other people in Holy Craftsman City didn’t dare say much, and Sikong Jing didn’t ask further, knowing it would likely reach the ears of Holy Craftsman Mountain. Just now, the manor master of Black Copper Manor had crazily cursed Holy Craftsman Mountain in front of him.

So Black Copper Manor was his best target to inquire, knowing they wouldn’t dare to report him to Holy Craftsman Mountain.

Gradually, the elder of Black Copper Manor regained his composure.

After giving Sikong Jing a once-over, he realized that the young man in black was promising not to report them to Holy Craftsman Mountain.

This was considered a transaction, on the condition that he tells the young man in black about the secrets of Shuibo Lake.

Thinking of this, the old man in the black robe heaved a long sigh and quickly glanced around, pulling Sikong Jing into the shop.

After inviting Sikong Jing to sit down, the old man in black robe softly replied, ”Though I don’t know what you want to do, I can answer your question... The Fu Family of Shuibo Lake was indeed the original ruling family of Holy Craftsman Mountain.”

”Three hundred years ago, they were dethroned by the current You Family of Holy Craftsmen, with most Fu family experts killed off.”

”The remaining were relegated to Shuibo Lake to do lowly and humble work, the women reduced to brothel workers, the men turned into ordinary craftsmen, etc., a legacy passed down for three centuries now.”

”And Shuibo Lake has become famously known for its entertainment.”

”The former Holy Craftsman Fu Family has ended up like this, treated so cruelly—a tale of woe.”

This target of Sikong Jing had similarities with Xiong Tingting, a flower girl within Shuibo Lake.

However, this girl was younger and the ace of Shuibo Lake, also bearing a tragic family destiny.

Then, Sikong Jing gently asked again, ”Why does the You Family of Holy Craftsmen treat them like this? Wouldn’t it be better just to kill them off? Leaving them alive gives them the chance to make a comeback...”

Usually, in such matters, one would eliminate any possibility of resurgence.

Judging from the behavior of those from Holy Craftsman Mountain earlier, the You Family of Holy Craftsmen didn’t seem like good people.

Faced with this, the elder from Black Copper Manor hesitated briefly before gritting his teeth and explaining...

”Because the Fu Family of Holy Craftsmen guards a secret closely, they’d rather die than pass it on to the You Family.”

”Everyone knows that Mechanical Messenger Birds produced by the Central Plains are of the highest quality and speed from the Heavenly Dao Sacred Land and Holy Craftsman Mountain. Yet unknown to many is that these Mechanical Messenger Birds are crafted by the Fu Family...”

”Meaning the Fu Family of Holy Craftsmen tightly guards the crafting secrets of Mechanical Messenger Birds, refusing to let the You Family know.”

”If the Fu Family were killed off, the Mechanical Messenger Birds business of Holy Craftsman Mountain would plummet.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing finally understood.

He targeted Fire Artisan City first for this secondary reason regarding the Mechanical Messenger Birds...

Why can Messenger Birds be so fast?

Because they hold some knowledge and secrets about Space Transmission, which might help him make the ’Space Holy Key’ acknowledge its master.

That the Messenger Birds produced by Holy Craftsman Mountain and Heavenly Dao Sacred Land are extremely fast is a well-known fact globally.

There are certainly many imitations made as well.

Which, based on the Formation of the Messenger Birds, is replicated stuff. However, those who replicate Messenger Birds wouldn’t know the Formation’s core secrets inside, so replica’s speed falls short...

The You Family of Holy Craftsmen, same reasoning applies.

What they create are imitations, but the original Mountain Master, the Fu Family of Holy Craftsmen, keeps this secret to barely preserve their family’s fate for 300 years.

”Of course, these matters are very taboo, so very few people know.”

Seeing Sikong Jing lost in thought, the elder of Black Copper Manor softly explained a few more things, specifically the highest quality Mechanical Messenger Birds being crafted by the Fu Family, which is the biggest secret of Holy Craftsman Mountain.

The You Family of Holy Craftsmen doesn’t want anyone to know this, of course, for the sake of face...

And to prevent anyone from prying into the Fu Family, because if someone could save the Fu Family, they would gain control over the Mechanical Messenger Birds business!

As such, even Sikong Jing didn’t know about these before...

Sikong Jing’s original goal was to conquer the Thousand Prison Tower chess piece in Shuibo Lake, and then see if he could acquire the crafting secrets of Messenger Birds from the You Family of Holy Craftsmen. Unexpectedly, both goals converged on the Fu Family of Holy Craftsmen.

This turned out to be a huge gain.

At this time, the elder of Black Copper Manor continued, ”Only small forces like ours, which have been in Fire Artisan City for several hundred or over a thousand years, can know this, and it must be an ancient heritage small force.”

”Three hundred years ago, some big forces in Fire Artisan City were also completely eliminated.”

After the You Family of Holy Craftsmen seized the Mountain Master position, they wiped out those who knew the Messenger Bird secrets in the big Fire Artisan City forces.

But there are always survivors, always some insignificant small forces that know about these things.

The You Family of Holy Craftsmen couldn’t possibly annihilate the entire Fire Artisan City...

With the words from the elder of Black Copper Manor, Sikong Jing nodded knowingly.

Then he looked at the elder of Black Copper Manor with a half-smile, ”With the risk of being silenced, why did you still tell me?”
