Berserk God of War

Chapter 939: Chapter 939: This Commission is Somewhat Difficult to Handle

Hua Meixi widened her eyes and angrily said, ”Anyway, I just dislike him, I want to see how committed he is to a so-called promise. Besides, he isn’t an ordinary person; waiting a few days won’t hurt him at all.”

She deliberately left Sikong Jing standing at the door, unhappy about him always trying to help Hua Lidian.

Especially the matter of bringing a message to her mother, Hua Meixi was uncomfortable with it. She had already told him not to meddle.

Upon hearing these words, Yao Yulou chuckled wryly and said, ”Meixi, waiting a few days indeed won’t harm Brother Sikong, but he has with him a little girl who doesn’t know martial arts, and she’s already turning pale from the cold.”

These words made Hua Meixi pause and ask, ”What little girl?”

During last night’s report from the protector, this wasn’t mentioned, or rather, when the protector mentioned Sikong Jing’s name, Hua Meixi, thinking he was coming to deliver a message for Hua Lidian, immediately had the protector dismissed.

She then ordered them to let Sikong Jing wait outside. As for the little girl, she knew nothing about it.

Blinking his eyes, Yao Yulou replied, ”I’m not sure either, but she seems quite miserable. Housekeeper Yan also said the girl often cries, seemingly bullied, perhaps she was rescued by Brother Sikong from somewhere...”

Before he could finish, Hua Meixi, face flushed with anger, interrupted.

”That damned bastard, he just arrived in Hanluan City for less than two days and is already messing with a little girl who doesn’t know martial arts.”

”Truly, he’s cut from the same cloth as Hua Lidian.”

”No way, I’m going to find him now, I must teach him a harsh lesson.”

With that, Hua Meixi rushed out in a fury, leaving Yao Yulou dazed in the study... He had been about to say that Brother Sikong likely rescued her from somewhere.

Shaking his head with a wry smile, Yao Yulou sighed, ”That fiery temper, she’s likely to suffer again.”

Saying this, he picked up a book and leisurely started reading.

But just then, Hua Meixi rushed back in a fury, ”Uncle Yao, I won’t let him see Mother, I absolutely won’t let Mother hear the name of Hua Lidian again, don’t soften your heart anymore.”

It was just because Uncle Yao softened his heart that he let Sikong Jing in.

Hearing this, Yao Yulou looked up and could only reply helplessly, ”Alright, alright, as you wish.”

With that, Hua Meixi turned and swiftly ran out again.

Very soon, she reached the elegant hall where Sikong Jing was resting. As she approached the door, she saw Sikong Jing fiddling with an ancient furnace, and at the same time, a disheveled little girl was messily gobbling porridge...

The little girl was very pretty, eating while tears streamed down, making anyone who saw her feel heartache.

In an instant, fury rose in Hua Meixi’s heart.

She stormed in, shouting at Sikong Jing, ”Sikong Jing, you’re unbelievable! You just arrived in the Central Plains and started bullying a little girl here? Are you seeking some thrill of conquest in the Central Plains?”

Her words, infused with True Qi, almost made the ancient furnace in Sikong Jing’s hand fall to the ground.

At the same time, the little princess looked up in astonishment...

To Hua Meixi, Sikong Jing bullying a little girl as soon as he arrived must be his attempt to find a sense of conquest, especially since the Central Plains is much more powerful than the East Plain. This sense of conquest could be fulfilling for him.

But this is simply despicable, it’s just the behavior of an insecure coward.

Sikong Jing blinked to grasp the meaning in Hua Meixi’s words, realizing her prejudice against him was growing larger.

Feeling a headache, he put down the ancient furnace and replied, ”Captain Hua, you’ve misunderstood. This matter isn’t what you think.”

Before he could finish his sentence, Hua Meixi had charged to the little princess’s side.

”Not what? Look at how this little girl has been bullied!”

”And she’s just a girl who doesn’t even know martial arts, how could you dare lay hands on her?”

She then looked at the little princess, saying heavily, ”Don’t be afraid, I will protect you. From now on, you will stay at the Yao Residence.”

Sikong Jing was stunned for a moment, then shrugged. He originally thought Hua Meixi would change her attitude towards him after experiencing the team selection, but it seems she’s still the same as before.

Therefore, Sikong Jing really didn’t want to say too much. If communication isn’t possible, then there’s no need to communicate.

The most important thing is that Hua Meixi’s sense of justice for the little princess is overflowing, making it unnecessary for him to say more as she’s already decided to let the little princess stay.

The first goal of this trip, smoothly accomplished.

Thinking of this, Sikong Jing disinclined to explain further and went straight to the point. ”Captain Hua, I came here...”

He hadn’t finished when Hua Meixi interrupted loudly, ”Impossible, my mother won’t see you. My mother doesn’t want to hear or see anything about Hua Lidian. Now you can leave.”

Sikong Jing was taken aback again, then silently laughed wryly, realizing that the commission related to Hua Lidian was indeed a bit challenging.

He didn’t want to speak too much with Hua Meixi, yet this matter necessitated her approval.

Sighing inwardly, a promise made must be kept. Sikong Jing could only calmly ask, ”Captain Hua, is it that your mother doesn’t want to see me, or you don’t want your mother to see me?”

This is a significant difference. If it’s the latter, convincing Hua Meixi or bypassing her would suffice.

If it’s her mother firmly refusing to hear anything about Hua Lidian, then it would be difficult.

Her expression stiffened slightly, and Hua Meixi, glaring with her eyes, said, ”There’s no difference, anyway, I’m not letting you see my mother.”

This answer made Sikong Jing breathe a sigh of relief.

Apparently, it’s Hua Meixi herself who is preventing her mother from seeing him. It’s even highly likely her mother doesn’t know where Hua Lidian currently is, Hua Meixi probably never told her...

Of course, this is just a guess; without meeting her mother in person, Sikong Jing couldn’t be sure.

”Housekeeper Yan, see the guest out.” At this moment, Hua Meixi furiously said again.

Sikong Jing shook his head, thinking he must find a way to avoid Hua Meixi, then left without saying more.

He left with natural ease, but the little princess, eating porridge like a little kitten, still gazed eagerly at him, wanting to speak up and follow but not knowing how, afraid that Sikong Jing would send her back.

Finally, in her longing gaze, Sikong Jing completely disappeared from her sight.

”Hmph, I won’t let my mother’s calm heart experience any more ripples.”

With a cold snort at Sikong Jing’s departing figure, Hua Meixi’s mood finally settled a bit.

Because she drove Sikong Jing away, she seemed to have gained a victory from this scoundrel, feeling somewhat smug.

However, when she turned to look at the little princess, she couldn’t help her anger.

”Damn it, I should have taught him a good lesson before letting him go. Look at how he bullied you.”

”Men like these, who have a close relationship with Hua Lidian, are indeed all scum.”

Upon seeing the little princess’s near-shredded clothes beneath the cloak, Hua Meixi instantly flew into a rage.

In the next moment, the little princess gritted her teeth and mustered the courage to speak, ”That Sikong Young Master didn’t bully me.”

Her voice was crisp yet exceptionally firm.

Although the young lady in front of her seemed very intimidating and could decide her fate,

the little princess couldn’t let her benefactor suffer undeserved scorn. She needed to speak up for his justice.
