Berserk God of War

Chapter 908: Chapter 908: Don’t Meddle in Other People’s Business

Sikong Jing stood dazed in front of Hua Lidian, then gently took the jade pendant and replied, ”Alright, I’ll definitely deliver it.”

Upon hearing this, Hua Lidian let out a long sigh, then tremblingly stood up.

He gazed deeply at Sikong Jing for a moment, then said, ”Brother Sikong, I have one more request. If you become a great figure in the future, if the Yao Family encounters danger, please help them...”

Sikong Jing was stunned, not quite understanding what Hua Lidian meant.

He didn’t know about the past experiences of Hua Lidian’s family, so he was quite confused.

At this moment, Hua Lidian sighed and said, ”Back then, Meixi’s mother possessed the Demon Charm Battle Body. Some terrifying figure became interested in her and wanted to forcibly take her. Meixi was already five years old at the time.”

”And I, as a husband and father, left them, abandoning the mother and daughter.”

Hearing this, Sikong Jing shuddered slightly. No wonder Hua Meixi hated him so much.

With a bitter smile, Hua Lidian hoarsely said, ”Am I not rotten?”

As he spoke, he wept and said, ”Back then, I took the mother and daughter out of Hanluan City to avoid that terrifying figure.”

”We hid in a small village, and then I left alone to find a way to contact the Divine Shuttle Ship, planning to take them back to the East Plain West Land where I was born.”

”I told them to wait for me for half a month...”

”Then I never returned. When I contacted the Divine Shuttle Ship, I also received news that my father, mother, and family were under siege, about to be destroyed!”

”The one who helped me get the Divine Shuttle Ship was a so-called friend. I asked him to wait for a few days until I returned with my wife and daughter, then we would set off.”

”But that so-called friend suddenly refused, insisting that I give him a hundred times the original reward before helping me, but I couldn’t come up with that. Moreover, it was almost impossible to contact the Divine Shuttle Ship again, and my father and mother were about to die.”

At this point, Hua Lidian clutched his head in pain...

Sikong Jing also realized what the future held. Hua Lidian ultimately chose to board the Divine Shuttle Ship, thereby abandoning Hua Meixi and her mother, and laying the foundation for Hua Meixi’s endless hatred today.

Sikong Jing could not comment on this, only acknowledging that the situation back then was too harsh on Hua Lidian.

On one side were parents and family, on the other side were wife and daughter. How should one choose?

If it were him in that situation... Sikong Jing dared not think about it; he absolutely couldn’t let such a situation happen to him.

”I returned to the East Plain West Land and was seriously injured in that great battle. I saved the family, then, dragging my injuries, returned to the original small village, but it was already three months later, and I couldn’t find them.”

At this point, Hua Lidian’s eyes were red to the extreme...

”I searched for them frantically, and finally, after ten whole years, I received news of them.”

”Because Meixi appeared at the joining ceremony of the East Dominator Branch’s battle team, the stone in my heart finally dropped. I rushed from the Northern Land to Hanluan City to find Meixi, but... sigh!”

A heavy sigh reached Sikong Jing’s ears, clearly indicating that Hua Meixi did not accept his explanation.

”No matter what, it’s my fault. I wronged them, I abandoned them...”

Sikong Jing simply nodded, still unable to make any comment.

He merely held the jade pendant in his hand and asked, ”Mr. Hua, why don’t you hand it to your wife yourself?”

Logically, Hua Lidian should have fought desperately to see his wife, even if it was for the last time.

With a bitter smile, Hua Lidian said, ”Meixi said her mother is now Yao Yulou’s wife, and told me not to disturb her... She said it was Yao Yulou who saved them.”

This statement left Sikong Jing dumbfounded, prompting a series of bitter smiles; it could only be said that fate plays with people.

”No matter what, it was Yao Yulou’s family who saved Meixi and her mother, so if there’s a chance, Brother Sikong, please help if possible.”

”Moreover, Meixi mentioned that the terrifying figure who once coveted her mother might return one day, so they’re keeping a very low profile, instructing me not to tell anyone.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing understood his meaning: not to speak too much about his matters.

In response, Sikong Jing naturally indicated that he wouldn’t speak more.

”If there’s a chance, please help me take down Ju Dan... Back then, when I slaughtered those who besieged my family, Ju Dan appeared and tried to reconcile with me, but I refused!”

”And Ju Dan secretly must have helped my enemies a lot, which caused my delayed return by a few days.”

”Maybe if I had returned a few days earlier, I could have found Meixi and the others.”

With Hua Lidian’s somber voice, Sikong Jing understood why he had offended Ju Dan, but ultimately, after thanking him a few more times, Hua Lidian turned and left, shaking wildly while drinking.

Sikong Jing stood in place and suddenly spoke softly, ”Captain Hua, do you have something to say?”

The air instantly became tense, and then heavy footsteps sounded.

Hua Meixi slowly emerged from the shadows, her lips curling into a cold smile, ”Utter nonsense, full of excuses.”

Clearly, she’d heard Hua Lidian’s words, but she didn’t believe them.

Yet her hand trembled slightly.

”I think Captain Hua should check such matters, right?” Sikong Jing retorted.

With a cold smile, Hua Meixi said, ”What difference does it make if it’s true?”

”Hua Lidian just found an excuse to abandon us, avoiding facing that terrifying figure, and with the excuse of the parents’ family siege, he could logically abandon us.”

Sikong Jing fell silent, as the resentment in Hua Meixi’s heart was too thick.

”Maybe the family siege was his own setup, I don’t believe a single word of it!” Hua Meixi finished speaking, turned, and walked away in large strides but paused again and said, ”Remember, don’t meddle in others’ business.”

To this, Sikong Jing chuckled carefreely, putting away the jade pendant given by Hua Lidian.

In fact, Hua Meixi might actually believe it, but the past hatred was hard to dispel. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have rushed from the East Dominator Branch to East Plain Northern Land upon hearing about her father facing punishment and death.

At that time, she even arrived two days earlier than the original schedule.

Of course, this was indeed someone else’s family matter, and Sikong Jing certainly didn’t want to meddle.

He only promised Hua Lidian to deliver the jade pendant to Hua Meixi’s mother, which would complete the task when the time came.

As Sikong Jing prepared to leave, he suddenly stopped again, seeing that someone else was approaching from the opposite side—it was Yao Yuzhi.

”Lord Yao, do you have business with me?” Sikong Jing blinked and asked.

Boom...

In the next instant, a violent aura erupted from Yao Yuzhi, pressing down on Sikong Jing.

Simultaneously, it was accompanied by a terrifying Spiritual Platform Sea Power...

In that moment, Sikong Jing instinctively released his own Spiritual Platform Sea Power to resist it, but it instantly shattered.

He was startled by the sensation of Yao Yuzhi’s Spirit Platform Power trying to penetrate his brow, filled with dread and confusion about Yao Yuzhi’s intentions, but he knew he must resist.

And resistance offered only one path—to immediately observe the meridians of the Ten Thousand Beasts Sky Prison’s Fierce Beast and become demonized!

But he quickly calmed down, as he couldn’t detect any hostility from Yao Yuzhi.

So, he recklessly opened up his Sea of Consciousness, concealing the Ten Thousand Beasts Sky Prison while calmly looking at Yao Yuzhi.
