Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Chu Linhai’s Provocation

Chu Linfeng was pleased in his heart, unaware that the obvious growth of Spiritual Power within him was due to his first absorption attempt.

If he were to absorb again, the effect would noticeably diminish; otherwise, if everyone relied on absorbing Spirit Stones to enhance their strength, wouldn’t everyone become top-tier experts, and what need would there be to absorb Star Power?

Looking at the sky, it was already late at night. Unexpectedly, absorbing one Low Grade Spirit Stone took up half a day’s time. Time truly flies!

Feeling no hunger, Chu Linfeng decided to go outside to absorb Star Power because he still had many questions in his heart that he hoped the Sword Spirit could answer. Only by absorbing enough Star Power would the Sword Spirit appear.

The night sky was filled with stars, and Chu Linfeng sat on the ground, slowly absorbing the Star Power that he had countless times wanted to give up on.

Gradually, specks of starlight appeared on his body and then disappeared wholly into his body.

This time, the starlight absorbed by Chu Linfeng didn’t vanish upon entering his body as usual but gradually moved toward his Dantian, similar to absorbing the Spirit Stone.

Time passed minute by minute, and the starlight within Chu Linfeng’s body grew more plentiful. Many starlights directly entered the Dantian, slowly rotating and eventually transforming into strands of blue Star Power.

Although Chu Linfeng had his eyes closed while absorbing, he could clearly see the situation inside his body; this phenomenon is called Introspection. He discovered he could see inside his body two years ago.

Now, seeing the Star Power appearing in his Dantian, he was incredibly excited; it was his first significant success in absorbing Star Power.

However, he didn’t understand why he could see this Star Power. It is said that Star Power below the Earth Martial Realm is invisible, adding to his confusion.

Since it was effective, he thought he might as well absorb more. This was the only thought in Chu Linfeng’s mind. The continuous influx of starlight entered his body, transforming into Star Power, and he did not stop until dawn arrived.

By this time, the Star Power within him had increased by several degrees compared to the first time he saw it.

The night’s absorption did not make Chu Linfeng feel fatigued; instead, it left him refreshed, though his stomach now seemed to feel a bit of hunger. ”After breakfast, I’ll go to the Library Pavilion to pick some martial skills to study,” Chu Linfeng said with a smile as he stood up.

Entering the house, he discovered that breakfast had already been set on the table by Lin Yanran. ”Yanran, why did you prepare breakfast so early?”

”Last night, you didn’t have dinner. I saw you absorbing Star Power and didn’t want to disturb you. Thinking you would be hungry in the morning, I prepared breakfast early!” Lin Yanran said happily as she saw Chu Linfeng start eating.

”Thank you, Yanran! Would you like to eat with me?”

”No, you’re busy all night, and you must be tired now. Second Young Master, finish eating quickly and get some rest!”

After finishing his meal, Lin Yanran swiftly cleared the bowls and chopsticks. Seeing it was still early, Chu Linfeng decided to visit the Martial Arts Training Ground for some morning exercise before heading to the Library Pavilion.

Many disciples were already at the Martial Arts Training Ground exercising in the morning. Chu Linfeng went back to the stone pillar where he used to train in the morning, but someone was standing there this time.

Upon getting closer, he saw it was Chu Linhai. ”Second Brother, are you here for morning practice too? I heard you defeated Lin Long from the Lin Family and could have chosen Lin Ziping as your fiancée. Why did you still choose that ugly woman?”

Chu Linhai’s voice sounded gross to Chu Linfeng’s ears. ”I don’t think my choice needs your approval. This is where I train in the morning, don’t get in my way!”

”Oh! Given a little color, you open a dye shop, huh? Lin Feng, I find it hard to believe you beat Lin Long because hearsay is not the same as seeing with your own eyes. Today, let’s face off and see if you’ve really been hiding your strength all this time.”

Chu Linhai’s body instantly filled with Star Power after he finished speaking.

”Do I have to fight just because you say so? Where’s my face in that? This young master won’t indulge you,” Chu Linfeng directly refused. He wasn’t sure if he still had such powerful Star Power, perhaps it was the Sword Spirit in his mind that helped.

”Coward, don’t flaunt before me. Today, you must fight me at least once, or I’ll keep pestering you every day!” Chu Linhai threatened immediately as he saw Chu Linfeng unwilling to fight.

”Do as you like, this young master isn’t scared! But in my eyes, your mediocre skills are nothing, you’d better rethink before provoking me, or I’ll make you regret it.”

”Scoundrel, you’re going too far!” Chu Linhai was immediately infuriated; no one had dared speak like that to him before, and he rushed forward, throwing a punch straight at Chu Linfeng.

Chu Linfeng had noticed Chu Linhai’s attack as he spoke and dodged it before the fist even got close.

The change in Chu Linfeng’s words was because he heard the Sword Spirit’s voice in his mind, ”Teach this ignorant kid a lesson, let him know what real Star Power is.”

The Sword Spirit’s words gave Chu Linfeng full confidence, and his internal Star Power, although limited from the night’s absorption, was not much different from Chu Linhai’s Second Level of Black Tortoise Realm Star Power. The outcome was uncertain.

After dodging Chu Linhai’s attack, Chu Linfeng circulated the scant Star Power within his Dantian throughout his body, concentrating it all on his right fist, which soon gleamed with dazzling starlight.

”Take my punch!” Chu Linfeng quickly launched a punch. As he channeled Star Power into his fist, Chu Linhai had also prepared his second attack, directly using his martial skill, ”Cloud-Dispelling Palm!”

This was a Yellow Tier Lower Grade martial skill, yet Chu Linhai had gotten pretty adept with it. After executing the palm, a shadowscape brimming with Star Power came crashing toward Chu Linfeng’s face, colliding with his punch.

Rather than a violent sound, there was only a slight tremor. After releasing the Cloud-Dispelling Palm, Chu Linhai thought this time Chu Linfeng would at least be severely hurt, if not dead, because Chu Linfeng had never practiced martial skills before in his memory.

However, what took him by surprise was that his Cloud-Dispelling Palm, full of Star Power, was like it plunged into the ocean when meeting Chu Linfeng’s fist, making no impact whatsoever.

And Chu Linfeng’s seemingly simple punch bore immense strength, instantly knocking him away.

Getting back up, blood trickled from Chu Linhai’s lips, clearly indicating he was internally injured. ”How is it possible, how could you defeat my Cloud-Dispelling Palm martial skill?”

”Isn’t it beaten now? I haven’t even used my full strength. If not for considering our brotherhood, I could have killed you with a single punch. I hope you’ll act wisely and stop bothering me; you won’t be so lucky every time!”

By now, there wasn’t a scrap of Star Power left in Chu Linfeng’s body. If Chu Linhai used the Cloud-Dispelling Palm again, it would be him who would end up hurt.

He spoke that way mostly to scare him off, preventing him from knowing his true power. Many disciples at the training ground witnessed Chu Linfeng’s punch that sent Chu Linhai flying, and they all stared at him in shock.

”When did Chu Linfeng become so formidable? Wasn’t he supposed to be a useless case?” a family disciple quietly commented.

”Who knows? I heard yesterday he also defeated Lin Long with a single punch; Lin Long was considerably stronger than Chu Linhai, so it might be best not to provoke him in the future,” another disciple chimed in.

”He must have been hiding his true strength all these years, never showcasing it; he’s genuinely formidable. With the family competition approaching, perhaps he doesn’t want to conceal it any longer...”

”What martial skill was that, Chu Linfeng?” For Chu Linhai, only a superior martial skill could have beaten him.

”Star Fist, have you heard of it?” Since Chu Linhai was his third uncle’s son, Chu Linfeng naturally wouldn’t act too harshly. His third uncle, Chu Yuankai, was known for protecting his family fiercely.

”Star Fist? I’ve never heard of that,” Chu Linhai asked with confusion, seemingly unconcerned about losing to Chu Linfeng.

”There are many things you haven’t heard of. I have no time to dally here with you. Remember my words, don’t provoke me unnecessarily!” Chu Linfeng said and headed directly towards the Library Pavilion.
