Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 152: Chapter 124: Unexpected Gain, Carrot and Stick

Despite the protection of a few loyal Knights, the vast majority of the Clan Knights and soldiers had already betrayed them. It wasn’t long before every member of the Reilly Clan in the square was slaughtered.

After killing Alex and the others, the Clan Knights and soldiers in the square all turned to look at Roy.

Roy said nothing, merely standing in silence beside the Ironblood Duke’s headless corpse.

When he gave no command, the Clan Knights and soldiers in the square immediately headed for the main castle building.

Soon, a chorus of screams echoed from within the main keep.

Time trickled by.

When silence fell once more, the Clan Knights and soldiers who had entered the main keep returned to the square, carrying the corpses of the Reilly Clan members.

They first laid the corpses of the Reilly Clan members before Roy, then knelt on one knee, a clear act of submission.

Roy surveyed them for a moment before speaking slowly. ”Annihilate everyone in Ice Wind City with the surname Reilia. I am taking control of Ice Wind City.”

”After you have finished, all Bronze Great Knights are to report to me in the study.”

The moment he finished speaking, the kneeling Clan Knights and soldiers answered in unison.

”Yes, my Lord!”

It must be said, in a world where ultimate power lies with the individual, many things become remarkably simple for those strong enough.

Take this situation, for example.

After witnessing Roy kill the Ironblood Duke in a single blow, the vast majority of the Clan Knights and soldiers in the square had immediately decided to submit to him.

Roy stood alone, but that didn’t stop the Clan Knights and soldiers from pledging their fealty.

His combat strength alone surpassed that of everyone in Iron Blood Castle combined.

Under Roy’s watchful gaze, the kneeling Clan Knights and soldiers rose to their feet and departed for Ice Wind City.

Soon, he was the only one left in the vast square.

Wasting no more time, he headed straight for the castle’s main keep.

Everyone in the castle with the surname Reilia was dead. Now, of course, it was time to collect the spoils.

Upon entering the main keep’s great hall, Roy saw a middle-aged man dressed in a steward’s uniform.

He was clearly the Ironblood Duke’s steward.

Upon seeing Roy, the middle-aged man stepped forward and bowed respectfully.

”Matthew Stone. Greetings, Lord Dark Night Knight.”

Normally, a man who becomes a steward is the Lord’s most trusted confidant.

However, being a confidant doesn’t necessarily mean the steward is unconditionally loyal to his Lord.

History is filled with simple examples of ambitious stewards overthrowing their masters, murdering their Lords, and seizing their fortunes.

It’s the kind of thing that has not only happened in the past, but happens now and will happen again in the future.

’There’s only one way to ensure that never happens: make certain you always have the power to take their life at any moment.’

After studying Matthew for a moment, Roy asked coldly, ”Where are the Reilly Clan’s treasury and the Ironblood Duke’s personal vault?”

Upon hearing the question, Matthew replied swiftly, ”The clan treasury is on the first sub-level, and the Ironblood Duke’s personal vault is on the second.”

”Very good. Take me there,” Roy added.

”Yes, my Lord!”

Without a moment’s hesitation, Matthew led Roy toward the vaults beneath the main keep.

With Matthew leading the way, Roy soon arrived before the door to the clan treasury on the first sub-level.

He glanced at the heavy metal door and, without hesitation, mobilized the Fighting Qi in his body, coalescing it into the Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword!

Tornado Slash!

With a casual wave of his hand, the Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword unleashed a pale green, crescent-shaped slash over a meter long.

In an instant, the Tornado Slash struck the heavy metal door.

BOOM!

A tremendous crash rang out!

The vault door, which had seemed indestructible to Matthew, couldn’t withstand the power of the Tornado Slash and was effortlessly blasted open by Roy.

With the door destroyed, the contents of the clan treasury were revealed to Roy.

”I have no more need of you here. Return to the great hall and wait for me,” Roy said to Matthew.

”As you wish, my Lord!”

With that, Matthew broke into a trot, heading for the stairs.

Once Matthew was gone, Roy leisurely entered the clan treasury.

He gave the treasury a quick scan, then casually opened a few chests. A satisfied smile spread across his face.

The next moment, he took everything inside the clan treasury, leaving nothing behind, and stored it all in his Chaos Square.

Without a moment of hesitation, Roy turned and left the clan treasury, making his way toward the Ironblood Duke’s personal vault.

He soon reached the second sub-level.

Just as before, he used Tornado Slash to blast open the vault door, then entered and stored everything inside in the Chaos Square.

His work complete, a satisfied Roy returned to the great hall on the first floor of the main keep.

”Take me to the Ironblood Duke’s study,” Roy ordered Matthew.

”Yes, my Lord!”

Without the slightest hesitation, Matthew immediately led Roy to the Ironblood Duke’s study.

Once in the study, Roy immediately entered the Chaos Square.

The moment he entered the Chaos Square, he saw a huge pile of chests stacked in its center.

These chests contained the wealth the Reilly Clan had accumulated over many years.

Without hesitation, he went to the chests and began to act as his own porter, moving them one by one to a corner he’d designated for sundries.
