Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 1901: Chapter 997: Enhancement

Li Shiming had not expected that the hardest to cultivate would actually be the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’.

When it came to cultivating spiritual insects, he was extremely experienced; even those ‘Eternal Water Bears’ had all been cultivated by him to Half-step Fifth Grade.

But the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’ was different; even with the Gu Feng Sect’s inheritance, they had only ever cultivated ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’ to Late Stage Fourth Grade.

In fact, in the Gu Feng Sect’s history, not to mention Late Stage Fourth Grade ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’, even Mid Fourth Grade ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’ had rarely been successfully cultivated.

Let alone Half-step Fifth Grade ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’; the Gu Feng Sect simply had no inheritance in this area.

Li Shiming had obtained quite a few classics on spiritual insects, but there were extremely few concerning the cultivation of ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’, and there was not a single method that went beyond Fourth Grade for him to reference.

After he obtained the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’, he only used them in the early stage.

This was not because the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’ was not strong enough; in fact, the might of the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’ was such that it could fight across ranks.

For example, an Early Fourth Grade ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’ could already give a Great Cultivator a massive headache.

Dealing with a ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’ was very simple: as long as you did not let the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’ get close.

But if you really let a ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’ get close, then even an existence two ranks higher would be unable to withstand the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’s’ attacks.

The ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’s’ attack was ‘Spirit Devouring’; once it approached its target, it could completely restrain the energy on the target’s body, and a target that had lost its energy would have no strength left to face the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’s’ tearing and biting.

Later on, Li Shiming stopped using the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’ because the enemies he faced were too powerful, while the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’ abilities were too single-purpose and too easily restricted.

But now, with sufficient time and resources, he naturally wanted to raise all the Spiritual Pets in his hands to Half-step Fifth Grade.

With his ability to help Spiritual Pets break through to Half-step Fifth Grade, he spent quite some time and, through IBMz15’s continuous simulations, studied new Spirit Pills with stronger effects based on the Spirit Pills the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’ had previously consumed.

This was also why he had waited in the ‘Thunder Prison’ for two months, then spent some more time preparing Alchemy materials, and finally, after five months, managed to refine enough Spirit Pills for eleven ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’ to advance to Half-step Fifth Grade.

He chose to have the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’ advance one by one; before each advancement, he pushed the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’s’ state to its limit and prepared for it the Innate Wood Divine Skills as well as the Thunder Resistance Secret Method blessed by the ‘Shenxiao Thunder Pearl’.

Because Li Shiming was not afraid of the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’ failing their tribulations; if a ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insect’ truly could not endure, he would simply intervene directly and forcefully carry it through the tribulation.

IBMz15’s virtual data simulation proved to be extremely useful; in the tribulation process of all eleven ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’, there was no need for his intervention, and they all successfully passed their tribulations.

This success rate was one hundred percent, but the premise was that in IBMz15’s virtual data simulations, the tribulation was successful before he would let the Spiritual Pet face the tribulation in reality.

The Half-step Fifth Grade ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’ did not gain any additional abilities, but their ‘Spirit Devouring’ range was expanded from having to bite the enemy directly to being able to affect targets within five meters.

Do not underestimate this difference of five meters; for Li Shiming, this was the difference between the ‘Silver Winged Spirit Gu Insects’ being usable in regular combat or not.

“What a pity!” Li Shiming looked at the Spiritual Pets under his command, each one powerful and well-equipped, yet with nowhere to be put to use.

In the Cultivation World, unless a Half-step Great Power took the initiative to seek trouble, he could not even find where the Half-step Great Powers were; not just Half-step Great Powers, even Great Powers were the same.

With his current reputation in the Cultivation World, unless multiple Great Power Avatars joined forces, there really were no Great Powers who would come looking for trouble with him.

The precedent of Da Leiyin Temple was there for all to see; Huinan Bodhisattva of Da Leiyin Temple was now confined to guarding the mountain gate.

In recent years, some super forces had been deliberately provoking Da Leiyin Temple, trying to lure out Huinan Bodhisattva’s avatar.

Li Shiming’s slaying of Huinan Bodhisattva’s avatar had originally only been a conclusion drawn from analysis.

But after a period of provocation, with Da Leiyin Temple never sending out Huinan Bodhisattva’s avatar, that already spoke volumes.

Thus in recent years, Da Leiyin Temple had suffered heavy losses; with no Bodhisattva avatar, no peak Great Venerable, and not even many ordinary Great Venerables.

This caused Da Leiyin Temple to retreat time and again in the face of repeated provocations, and those super forces gradually pressed their advantage, continuously increasing their encroachment on Da Leiyin Temple’s interests.

These matters were also connected to Li Shiming, and of course, all in ways beneficial to him.

No matter what methods Li Shiming had used to slay Huinan Bodhisattva’s avatar, all of this proved that he possessed the ability to fight a Great Power Avatar.

Huinan Bodhisattva was by no means a weakling; among the Inheritor Great Abilities, Huinan Bodhisattva could rank in the top five within the Cultivation World.

Yet even such a powerful Huinan Bodhisattva had his avatar fall at Li Shiming’s hands; one could well imagine how terrifying Li Shiming’s methods were.

It was precisely because of this that the various Great Powers of the Cultivation World no longer entertained the thought of dealing with Li Shiming.

Rather than risk ending up like Huinan Bodhisattva’s avatar, it was better to let Li Shiming fall on his own during the process of advancing to Half-step Great Power.

According to certain intelligence, it was inevitable that problems had appeared in Li Shiming’s cultivation; otherwise, how could there be such a thing as him undergoing the Half-step Great Power Heavenly Tribulation three times in a row?
