Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 1866 - 979: Pursuit (Part 2)

The prediction methods can only affect cultivators with lower power levels. Once a cultivator’s understanding of the rules becomes strong enough, attempting to use prediction to judge certain matters will result in a backlash from the opponent’s rules.

Li Yuanba sensed the feeling of being watched but didn’t notice any backlash on the opponent, which led him to speculate about the opponent’s power level.

”This is really troublesome. Could it be another half-step Great Power, or perhaps a Great Power is preparing to make a move against me?” Li Yuanba muttered to himself.

With a flash, he left the flying boat and put it away.

With a slight mental movement, the shadow of the Golden Winged Dapeng appeared in the sky.

He used ’One Step to Arrive’ to reach the back of the Golden Winged Dapeng, gently patting its neck. The Golden Winged Dapeng let out a cry, and its figure transformed into a beam of light heading into the distance.

Huinan Bodhisattva was using four tortoise shells to calculate Li Yuanba’s position. In his previous calculation, the four tortoise shells provided a relatively accurate location.

Based on the information from the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion, it was determined that Li Yuanba had left the mountain gate of the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion. Judging from the time and distance, this calculation seemed accurate.

Huinan Bodhisattva wouldn’t just make a single calculation. Due to the significant difference in power levels regarding Li Yuanba, Huinan Bodhisattva could exercise flexibility.

Huinan Bodhisattva threw the four tortoise shells again. This time, three of them remained still like before, but the last one kept spinning.

”How could this be?” Even with Huinan Bodhisattva’s immense power, he found the situation with the tortoise shells perplexing.

As long as the last tortoise shell kept spinning, Huinan Bodhisattva couldn’t determine Li Yuanba’s position.

The tortoise shell kept spinning for a hundred breaths, then it emitted a crisp sound.

Huinan Bodhisattva’s expression changed suddenly. He looked at the last tortoise shell, noticing fine cracks on its surface.

He couldn’t help but feel distressed. Although these four tortoise shells were just four-grade tortoise shells, the materials selected for them were extremely strict, needing four shells from the same mother turtle.

Now that one tortoise shell cracked, they were all rendered useless.

What he didn’t know was, at the moment of his second calculation of Li Yuanba’s position, Li Yuanba was sitting on the back of the Golden Winged Dapeng, which was rapidly using Space Movement.

If a great cultivator of the same level as Li Yuanba had been conducting the calculation, they might have only achieved an approximate result.

Because Huinan Bodhisattva was conducting the calculation, his immense power level made the result closer to reality.

During the use of the secret technique, the four tortoise shells were filled with a peculiar energy, forming the foundation of the calculation.

However, Li Yuanba’s movement speed was too fast, frequently executing space movement over hundreds of miles. The tortoise shell that cracked was pushed to the extreme as it failed to deliver an accurate result, eventually surpassing the shell’s limit.

Fortunately, the Da Leiyin Temple had abundant resources, and Huinan Bodhisattva easily summoned another set of four tortoise shells.

This time, instead of forcefully determining Li Yuanba’s location, he focused on predicting the destination position of Li Yuanba.

”South Zhao, it seems I don’t need to intervene!” Huinan Bodhisattva looked at the new prediction result and smiled as if he had everything under control.

Li Yuanba, on the back of the Golden Winged Dapeng, felt twice more the sense of being watched, and by now he was 100% certain he was being targeted by cultivators using secret prediction techniques to follow his tracks.

”I don’t believe anyone can track the position of the Golden Winged Dapeng!” Li Yuanba wasn’t too worried, he smiled and talked to himself.

At full speed, flying between two continents would take only about two days for the Golden Winged Dapeng.

At such speed, not only is it difficult to locate him, even if found, it’s hard to catch up with his pace.

The more they headed south, the more islands appeared.

According to Li Yuanba’s understanding, this sea had numerous super forces that established their bases here.

Controlling the sea allowed super forces to establish bases that could obtain resources comparable to those established on land.

Li Yuanba didn’t encounter any trouble along the way, which left him slightly disappointed.

His flying boat carried the emblem of Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion, and as a peak great sword cultivator, few forces in the cultivation world dared to provoke him.

Of course, he also enjoyed special treatment as a sword cultivator, being trailed by cultivators when passing through territories of super forces, only ceasing when he left their areas.

This was to prevent sword cultivators from causing trouble within their domains, especially one from Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion, which could result in a massive retaliation by sword cultivators should anything happen.

Though no battle ensued, what he observed and experienced along the way gave him a hint of breaking through his bottleneck.

He knew this path was the right one, as enough travel experience could possibly lead him to a breakthrough chance even without battle.

Before reaching South Zhao Continent, he sensed the Spiritual Energy from the continent.

The Spiritual Energy here was richer than that of Dongqi Continent and West Yan Continent, even slightly stronger than that of Central State Continent.

South Zhao Continent’s only drawback was its monotonous plant life, comprising heat-resistant flora, resulting in limited spirit plant varieties here.

Therefore, exchanging South Zhao’s unique resources with other continents is necessary to meet the needs of South Zhao cultivators.

Hence, Spiritual Energy isn’t the most crucial factor; climate plays a significant role as well.

Luckily, Li Shiming, being a peak great cultivator, wasn’t affected by temperatures.

As the flying boat moved forward, the Spiritual Energy aura from the continent grew stronger. Although the land wasn’t yet visible, it wouldn’t be long before South Zhao Continent came into view.

Li Yuanba remembered a marked spot on the map — an island, a commercial island where many maritime trades take place.

As he approached the island, he felt a slight sense of unease.

He somehow felt a special connection to the island ahead.

Despite being highly sensitive, he lacked the analytical skills to interpret the information.

If experienced cultivators adept in prediction techniques were present, they would sense that the island ahead was a place being targeted by prediction techniques.

The closer he got to the island, the stronger his sense of abnormality became.

The moment he hesitated, although he didn’t understand what troubles lay on the island, it was clear there was some problem with it concerning him, and he wasn’t one to charge on heedlessly into known issues.

He instructed the Golden Winged Dapeng to leave, then used ’One Step to Arrive’, employing ’Heaven-Eye Vision’ to locate a point eight thousand miles away, and disappeared in a flash, appearing eight thousand miles away.

This distance put him farther from the island, reducing the strange sensations.

”Amitabha!” a Buddhist chant resounded.

A figure appeared from afar, leaving behind intermittent images every several thousand meters in the void, created by some kind of space movement technique.

Upon hearing the Buddhist chant and feeling the powerful aura nearing, Li Yuanba thought that the Bodhisattva from Da Leiyin Temple had arrived.

He increased the frequency of ’One Step to Arrive’ usage, moving eight thousand miles each time, which was superior to the space movement being executed by the pursuing Bodhisattva.

The problem, however, was that the Bodhisattva’s space movement hardly had any delay, causing the Bodhisattva’s figure to continuously flash and advance in the void.

Li Yuanba was ahead, the Bodhisattva behind, and the gap between them was closing.

It’s conceivable that it wouldn’t take long before the Bodhisattva caught up with Li Yuanba; escaping from a Bodhisattva with space ability wasn’t easy.

When the Bodhisattva closed to within eight thousand miles of Li Yuanba, Li Yuanba used ’Heaven-Eye Vision’ to clearly see the Bodhisattva behind him — it wasn’t the Bodhisattva’s real body, but an avatar.
