Chapter 294: Chapter 193 Arrival_2

The terrifyingly wild aura enveloped the entire area, as beasts on the ground were losing control of their bodily functions, with the timid ones scared to death and the rest lying flat, daring not to make the slightest move.

“It’s a Great Demon, no, it’s not quite there yet!” Li Shiming’s Spiritual Thought, upon detecting the wild aura, swiftly retracted back into his body, not wanting to be discovered by the powerful spirit beast.

Although the bear engulfed in flames was not a Great Demon, judging by the aura displayed, it was much stronger than the strength of someone at the Foundation Establishment Peak.

This fire-bearing giant bear must have taken a crucial step toward becoming a Great Demon but had not yet fully completed the transformation.

Li Shiming did not know whether his judgment was correct, but one thing was certain: he could not defeat this bear engulfed in flames.

Not to mention him alone, even adding Li Yuanba and Jiang Chen, and even with the help of talismans and treasures, he still stood no chance of winning.

...
He began to have second thoughts, feeling it was not worth risking his life for someone else.

With this thought, he once again observed the giant bear through monitoring; at this time, the bear had reached the explosion area and saw no sign of life, just the remnants of the explosion on the ground.

The bear let out an angry roar, madly pounding the ground and creating a large pit in the exploded area.

“Why is this bear so violent?” Li Shiming wondered inwardly with some surprise.

Along the way, he had observed many spirit beasts and had conducted some research on them.

Especially since IBMz15 had collected a lot of data on spirit beasts and performed systematic analyses of their behavior.

This bear was somewhat abnormal, even among spirit beasts.

With the wisdom of spirit beasts, upon discovering explosion traces, they would first choose to inspect the area, trying to find other related traces, rather than mindlessly destroying the scene like this bear.

“There seems to be something I can work with here!” A thought flashed through Li Shiming’s mind, and he no longer hurried to leave.

After seeing the bear return to its original place, he operated the UAV to carry another bomb of the same size and dropped it in a farther direction.

This time, he retreated into a cave deep in the mountain, observing the outside world entirely through monitoring.

After delivering the bomb, the UAV landed on the ground very close to where the bear was staying, yet without alerting it.

The explosion sounded again, and the bear’s response was just as fierce. It leaped into the air again, its violent aura igniting the flames on its body, and the trees nearby started burning.

As the bear flew towards the explosion, the UAV moved, flying low to the ground toward the place the bear was guarding.

The UAV’s built-in chip calculated the terrain, continuously adjusting the flight angle, hugging the ground to minimize the possibility of being detected by the bear.

Through the images transmitted by the UAV, Li Shiming saw the details of the target location for the first time.

The spot was surrounded by several large boulders, forming a nest. The UAV could not get too close before its sensors issued a high-temperature warning.

The UAV could only change its angle, finally finding a vantage point in the crevice between the huge stones.

Inside the enclosure of boulders was a massive red rock.

To call it a red rock wasn’t entirely accurate; a better description would be that there was earth fire connected to the rock underneath, with flames sporadically shooting out around the rock.

Yet, amidst such an environment, there was a plant with its roots planted onto the rock, which was being heated red by the earth fire.

Through the UAV’s camera, Li Shiming saw the plant’s appearance clearly, especially the three leaves that looked like red jade; he was one hundred percent certain that this was the Mu Yang Three-leaf Clover.

It was unexpected that the Mu Yang Three-leaf Clover was actually still there and, by the looks of it, was nearly matured.

Indeed, the reason Xu Chuan dared to consider the Mu Yang Three-leaf Clover here as hope was based on records indicating that the clover at this location was about to mature.

Spirit beasts would not harvest immature spiritual objects, as doing so would be a waste, with the effects vastly inferior to those of mature specimens.

Seeing the bear flying back, Li Shiming quickly put the UAV into standby mode; the UAV stopped outside the nest, directly facing that narrow crevice.

The giant bear flew back to its nest, and its raging fury was forcefully suppressed upon entering the nest, which was evident from the terrifying sounds of its heavy breathing.

The drone now served as surveillance, capturing every move of the giant bear.

The drone didn’t attract the attention of the giant bear, which didn’t surprise Li Shiming; in this world, whether it’s cultivators or spirit beasts, they seem to ignore items and life forms without spiritual energy fluctuations.

Cultivators and spirit beasts are like beings from another world, a world where only spiritual objects exist, and all mundane things are considered lowly and inferior.

The bear’s heavy breathing lightened upon seeing the Mu Yang Three-leaf Clover; its huge bear paw wanting to caress the clover yet stopped an inch away from it.

Li Shiming could tell that the Mu Yang Three-leaf Clover was extremely important to the giant bear.

This third-grade Mu Yang Three-leaf Clover might be the giant bear’s opportunity for advancement to become a Great Demon; that was his guess, and it was likely not far from the truth.

Otherwise, how else could one explain a bear on the verge of becoming a Great Demon guarding a Mu Yang Three-leaf Clover with such care?

In the following two days, explosions would occur at irregular intervals and locations without any pattern.

The bear’s temperament became increasingly irritable; apart from being able to suppress its anger within the nest, it had practically destroyed all the nearby trees.

Fortunately, the drone was parked close to the nest, thus avoiding the fate of being destroyed by the enraged giant bear.

Based on IBMz15’s analysis of the bear’s character, the timing was almost right, the bear’s anger level had reached a critical point, it was time to act.

Li Shiming personally set up a timed explosive on the right mountain peak, followed by the second, third, and fourth.

After arranging everything, he returned to wait on the left mountain peak.

With a ‘boom,’ another explosion caused the giant bear to leap into the air, its fury almost enveloping the entire mountain.

The bear flew towards the right peak, during which, the rocks on the ground outside the nest’s range were scorched and shattered by terrifying flames.

It was here that it prepared to advance to Great Demon status, having already taken the most crucial step. It just needed to consume the third-grade Yang Spirit Medicine, and it could become a Great Demon.

But something kept harassing it, and yet it was unable to pinpoint where the other was.

Already a creature of solar energy, the giant bear found it impossible to suppress its fury under such provocation.

Just as it flew towards the explosion site, another explosion sounded a bit further than the first.

Without a second thought, it flew towards the new explosion site.

Yet another explosion sounded, even further away.

Li Shiming darted out, doing his utmost to suppress the spiritual power within his body, even using Sword Intent to minimize the visibility of his sword light to the extreme.

His speed was not slow at all; this was not the time to hold back.

After several days of data collection by IBMz15, the multiple explosions set up by Li Shiming were not random; IBMz15 had determined the bear’s sensory range regarding its nest.

As long as the explosion was a bit further away, the bear would hesitate for a moment while flying towards it, which was clearly visible from the surveillance footage.

The reason for two days of constant explosions was to eliminate that hint of hesitation in the bear, and to unknowingly instill it with the idea that no matter where the explosion occurred, it wouldn’t affect the nest.

After all, the bear was not yet a true Great Demon; it had intelligence like a normal human and was influenced by its instincts after being provoked many times, entering a state of frenzy.

Li Shiming flew to the bear’s nest, a place extremely crude, designed only to hide the Mu Yang Three-leaf Clover inside, unseen by other spirit beasts.

The third-grade spiritual medicine was extremely important for any Great Demon, and the bear clearly knew this fact.

Since he hadn’t used much spiritual power, the temperature near the nest felt as hot as a furnace once he approached.
