Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 261: Chapter 177 Cultivation

After his split consciousness achieved Foundation Establishment, Li Shiming had a feeling as if his soul had been strengthened during the Foundation Establishment Stage, and the consciousness he left in his split consciousness underwent some strange changes.

This consciousness seemed to be completely separated from his original body, yet there was a thread of connection that allowed the original body and the split consciousness to influence each other at any time.

The original body could control the actions of the split consciousness through this thread of connection.

However, the original body was no longer able to completely retract that consciousness; it was as if this consciousness had been solidified within the soul of the split consciousness and had become its spiritual intelligence.

Li Shiming was slightly stunned; he did not understand whether this situation was normal, as his knowledge of cultivation was severely lacking.

Of course, even after he had joined a major sect, it was still difficult to access knowledge about split consciousness, a high-end cultivation concept.

...
Split consciousness was not something Qi Refining Cultivators could access, and yet it allowed the split consciousness to breakthrough and become a Foundation Establishment Cultivator just like a normal cultivator.

Moreover, the method Li Shiming used, simulating two actions with one mind, was not a regular cultivation technique but a martial world tactic.

The ‘fighting with both hands’ produced two separate consciousnesses; after his modifications, his prolonged separation of consciousness made using both aspects of the mind a common practice.

This time, the soul enhancement during Foundation Establishment caused the consciousness that had separated out to be irretrievable, becoming a true case of using both aspects of the mind simultaneously.

Li Shiming could only have IBMz15 record this down for later research, as his current abilities were incapable of explaining everything that had happened.

“Fellow, it seems that from now on, we really need to become two different people,” the original body said to the split consciousness, resignedly.

“Fellow, it’s two people, but I am also you, and you are also me,” the split consciousness said with a laugh.

Although an accident had occurred, its impact on him was minimal.

The split consciousness had advanced to the Foundation Establishment Stage, and his body instantly transformed into the Corpse Refining state.

The original body also set up the ‘Netherworld Ghost Realm Array,’ prepared to let the Corpse Refining state of the split consciousness enter to breakthrough to Iron Corpse.

As the split consciousness transformed into the Corpse Refining state and had not yet entered the Ghost Domain, his body began to transform; his coppery skin started to turn black, sharp fangs grew from his mouth, and his eyes turned blood red.

If one were to say the split consciousness was a uniquely handsome man before transforming into Corpse Refining, particularly after advancing to Iron Corpse, there was no hint of handsomeness left.

The black skin of the split consciousness emitted bursts of metallic drumming sounds; each sound caused a momentary enhancement of the muscles and bones within.

Li Shiming, using Spiritual Thought, supported the split consciousness and sent it into the Ghost Domain environment.

Though the split consciousness had already successfully advanced to the Iron Corpse State, the abundant Yin Cold Energy there was still greatly beneficial for strengthening the Iron Corpse State.

As the Iron Corpse State of the split consciousness entered the ‘Netherworld Ghost Realm Array,’ the Yin Cold Power within the array converged toward him.

The sound of the metallic drumming became denser; hearing this sound alone made Li Shiming feel horrified. He hadn’t even begun cultivating the Foundation Establishment chapter of the ‘Sword Demon Secret Manual,’ yet the Iron Corpse was already so formidable.

Once he started cultivating the ‘Sword Demon Secret Manual,’ the defense of the Iron Corpse state of the split consciousness would likely be several notches stronger than the defense of his original body’s two Corpse Refining techniques.

Li Shiming also summoned the Three-headed Six-armed Copper Corpse and had it enter the ‘Netherworld Ghost Realm Array’ as well.

The Three-headed Six-armed Copper Corpse, in the Ghost Domain environment, also began to experience vibrations in its skin, with each vibration emitting a ‘pom pom’ sound; its skin became darker and darker.

Seeing that the states of the Three-headed Six-armed Copper Corpse and the split consciousness were normal, Li Shiming wasn’t sure how long the complete transformation into Iron Corpse would take, so he stopped watching on the side.

Checking the time, it was almost dawn; he flashed out of the cave dwelling.

He first checked the conditions at the Wei family’s station; the various Spiritual Objects in the formation seemed as if they had aged millions of years, greatly diminished in spirit.

This was likely the consequence of forcing the use of the ‘Five Elements Qi Absorption Array’ to extract from the Wei family’s station’s formation; he couldn’t help but think that before his breakthrough to Golden Core, it was essential to set up a formation that was a major tier stronger than this place. Perhaps then, like here, the extracted formation’s spiritual energy would be greatly lost.

This was another major expense; the Tier Two Formational materials used to set up this place weren’t few, and he didn’t know if his Spirit Stones would be enough to set up a much stronger formation.

It seemed he needed to find a way to earn more Spirit Stones; otherwise, he really might be stuck at the Foundation Establishment Stage.

He knew that if his original body couldn’t break through to Golden Core, it would only live to be two hundred years old, and he was uncertain whether the split consciousness could survive. He did not want to gamble with his fate.

Thinking this, he rose into the air and left the formation to reach the mountain peak.

He sat cross-legged at the peak, facing east, running ‘Purple Qi Eastward,’ waiting for the first wisp of purple qi to appear in the east.

Now at the Foundation Establishment Stage, he at least had a certain ability to protect himself in this region; he was not willing to miss any opportunity to absorb purple qi.

As the sun rose, he once again captured a wisp of purple qi; even at the Foundation Establishment Stage, this wisp of purple qi still brought him a subtle overall enhancement.

“Set a new research direction, how to capture more purple qi!” Li Shiming entered into IBMz15 after digesting the purple qi, still longing for more.

In the time afterwards, he began cultivating the ‘Hundred Thoughts Thousand Reversions,’ attempting to split his Spiritual Thought into even more parts, which greatly benefited his control of the Nine Palace Sword Formation.

As for the ‘Thousand-Hammered God Technique,’ he tried to cultivate it, but unfortunately, his Spiritual Thought couldn’t yet meet the cultivation standards.

He spent a day continuously refining his numerous techniques for the Foundation Establishment Stage, learning the knowledge associated with this stage.
