Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 244: Chapter 168 Arrow Action_2

The only thing that could move was his Spiritual Thought. Knowing it was a matter of life and death, he immediately activated a formation on the Flying Boat.

Once the formation was activated, a light from the formation enveloped the rocket. The function of this formation was to make the connected material become weightless.

With the rocket’s body becoming weightless and the thrust remaining powerful, it inevitably gained a higher speed.

It was this slight difference in speed that caused the giant hand to sweep past the rocket from behind without hitting it.

Given the speed of the rocket, once the Nascent Soul sea beast realized it had missed its target, it would have to physically pursue to attack again, as another attack from its Nascent Soul Dharma Form would exceed its range of attack.

Li Shiming silently counted down “3,2,1,” and at one, he stopped the Flying Boat’s weightlessness formation.

Though the rocket’s speed had increased, even after regaining its weight, it still needed a distance before it could slow down again. With that distance, he had already escaped the attack range of the Nascent Soul strength sea beast.

The Nascent Soul sea beast did not pursue. It was clear that this enemy did not want to stay in its territory. Moreover, seeing the direction of the rocket’s flight, which was toward human land, the Nascent Soul sea beast did not want to get too close.

Land is a restricted area for sea beasts, even for a Nascent Soul sea beast.

In this world, humans are the most powerful species. Other life forms, even those with intelligence and great strength, are merely strong individuals.

Li Shiming watched the dashboard, saw that all the data for the rocket were still normal, and he couldn’t help but relax.

The body of the rocket was made of ordinary metal. Although it was enhanced with magic, the effect of the firmness runes could not turn ordinary metal into Spiritual Objects, it only strengthened the metal’s resistances and hardness.

The Flying Boat’s weightlessness formation, however, required spiritual materials to be sustained. He had experimented with ordinary metals, and they could only last for a maximum of three seconds before they would collapse.

He had considered using spiritual materials, such as the metal used in the lowest grade magical artifacts to make the rocket’s body.

But the amount of metal needed to make the rocket’s body was simply too much, so much so that even if he had enough Spirit Stones to buy, he could not find a seller who had that much spiritual metal available.

It is known that most of the spirit ore mining rights are held by the seven major sects, and the annual output is very limited.

During his time in the Sky Sea Sect, although he had some small privileges, he still relied on Yin Shilan’s connection, and he was powerless to obtain a large amount of spiritual metal crucial to the sect.

Looking apprehensively into the distance, he then had the IBMz15 mark the location, and once he had enough strength, he would come back to settle the score with that Nascent Soul sea beast.

Of course, he did not yet know the true strength of this sea beast. Whether he would still remember to seek revenge if he knew it was a Nascent Soul strength beast was uncertain.

The Flying Boat continued to fly in the sky at ten thousand meters, and the fuel on the dashboard was nearly depleted, yet still, no land was in sight.

He sighed helplessly, realizing that his understanding of this world was still inaccurate.

This planet seemed not much different from Earth, but its surface area must be much larger. This was the conclusion drawn by calculations and analysis at ten thousand meters high by the IBMz15.

Using Earth’s dimensions, he calculated the potential width of Beihai, and the result left the rocket over the sea.

The last bit of liquid hydrogen was consumed, the rocket’s engine shut down, and it began to fall downward.

Li Shiming’s Spiritual Thought swept over and stowed the rocket inside the largest storage ring in his spatial storage.

The rocket, having been refueled with liquid hydrogen, could still be used again. At least until he managed to create a better rocket, this patched-up one remained his fastest means of transportation.

He took out a Jade Flying Boat, which was the second one given to him by a cultivator of the Holy Ice Sect. He had traded the first one to Ren Fei’er.

He chose the Jade Flying Boat because it had a better concealment effect when flying over the sea. The Jade Flying Boat, being transparent, could achieve a certain invisibility effect from a distance.

Li Shiming did not change direction. Although the map in his hand was temporarily useless, and he could not pinpoint his location, as long as he was on the right track, he could find land.

It was his ignorance and fearlessness that led him to such a daring act.

If he had truly understood the dangers of Beihai, he probably would not have dared to fly alone across Beihai with only the strength of the Qi Refinement Realm.

Over the following days, he experienced firsthand the peril of Beihai where, every few hours, he was attacked by a sea beast.

However, his luck held, as he did not encounter any beasts with the strength of the Foundation Establishment Stage, which meant that his only issue was the speed of his journey, not any other troubles.

After seven days, he finally saw a shadow of land at the horizon where the sea meets the sky.

The heart that he had been holding in suspense could not help but relax at this sight. For seven days, not seeing any sign of land was troublesome, but the absence of even a single island almost convinced him he was heading towards the deep sea.

If it weren’t for the clear directions from the IBMz15, he couldn’t have endured for such a long time.

As a cultivator, he didn’t need to worry about food, but being out at sea, facing the same monotonous view every day without any hope, posed a tremendous mental challenge.

Li Shiming lowered the Jade Flying Boat below the surface of the sea; moving forward within the water and by virtue of the transparency of the Jade Flying boat, this acted as a form of invisibility.

In areas close to the land, there was no need to worry about troubles from powerful sea beasts.

If he guessed correctly, ahead of him was the Beishu Continent.

Aside from having ties with Shilan, the reason he wished to come to the Beishu Continent was his desire to become stronger.

After seeing Seven Star Island and how Sword Cultivator Yun Xingyi, a Golden Core of Beishu, easily broke the island’s grand formation and considering it a major threat by the seven sects, he began to question the strength of the sects.

Being a Golden Core like Sword Cultivator Yun Xingyi of Beishu, who was powerful particularly after combining his insights from the battle at the Seven Star Island, confirmed Li Shiming’s doubts about the disparity between the sects and Beishu.

As for who Yun Xingyi was, he was a disowned dog forced out of Beishu, yet such a Golden Core cultivator was considered an overwhelming force by the Golden Cores of the seven sects.

Moreover, within the vast sect of the Sky Sea Sect, none of the cultivation techniques Li Shiming saw or heard could compare to the two techniques he had acquired from Yun Xingyi.

This further clarified for Li Shiming that remaining in the seven sects was hopeless, and even without the invasion of Beishu cultivators, his strength could only reach that of Elder Yin at best within the Sky Sea Sect.

This limitation was dictated by the resources of Sky Sea Island and the insufficient foundation of the seven sects, which couldn’t cultivate Nascent Soul cultivators, and even Late-stage Golden Core cultivators were rare.

To Li Shiming’s surprise, he approached the shores without any trouble; Beishu Continent did not seem to have any defenses against the sea, seemingly unconcerned about the existence of sea beasts.

This required a level of confidence that was beyond comprehension.

It is known that on Sky Sea Island, the seven sects went to great lengths to set up two lines of defense against the sea beasts.

Seven Star Island was the first line of defense, designed to prevent Golden Core stage sea beasts from approaching.

Following that, each of the seven sects was responsible for their respective sea areas to stop Foundation Establishment stage beasts and those in excessive numbers while the remaining Qi Refinement realm sea beasts were left for the sect’s Qi Refining Cultivators to practice on.

Such layers of defenses prevented the threat of sea beasts to Sky Sea Island and became the main source of low-level resources for each sect.

The flying boat emerged from the water and reached the sandy shore.

Li Shiming jumped out of the flying boat, his feet pressing down on the ground, feeling the world become tangible once more.

The days spent at sea had made him miss the land immensely.

He casually put away the Jade Flying Boat, and after thinking, he changed all his clothes to a Low Grade Magic Robe; even his storage bracelet was put into the machine room space.

He wanted to make himself appear as a poor Qi Refining Cultivator, a Loose Cultivator.
