Chapter 201: Chapter 147: True Intentions

“Shilan has grown up so much!” After discussing official matters, Elder Lu from the Shuiyun Sect said with a light laugh to Yin Shilan.

“Aunt Lu!” Yin Shilan stepped forward to salute, then greeted the other Golden Core Elders one by one.

Li Shiming stood to the side, unsure of what to do.

“Shilan, who is this young man?” Elder Lu asked, looking at Li Shiming.

Actually, these Golden Core Elders had a very wide range of perception, and having always been on Seven Star Island, they had long noticed the close relationship between Yin Shilan and Li Shiming.

“Aunt Lu, this is Li Shiming, who is also an Intermediate Array Master like me!” Yin Shilan couldn’t bear Elder Lu’s gaze and introduced him in a low voice, then stood behind her father, Elder Yin.

“Stop staring at the kids!” Elder Yin waved his hand and said.

“This child has the aura of Vajra Relics about him, Li Shiming, did you compose the ‘Life-taking Buddhist Chant’ and ‘Buddhist Light Appears’?” Master Du Hai’s eyes brightened as he suddenly interjected.

He had actually already confirmed that the Vajra Relics were personal belongings of Old Monk Du Yuan. News from within the Ten Thousand Buddha Sect said that Old Monk Du Yuan had given the Vajra Relics to the composer of ‘Life-taking Buddhist Chant’ and ‘Buddhist Light Appears’.

“Respected Master, indeed, it was me!” Li Shiming bowed in response.

“This child is indeed fated with Buddha!” Master Du Hai said with a smile.

Yin Shilan, somewhat worried, grabbed the corner of Li Shiming’s clothes, fearing that he might be taken away by Master Du Hai.

The small movement of Yin Shilan made all the Golden Core cultivators reveal a knowing smile.

The Golden Core cultivators, having also been young once, saw in Yin Shilan and Li Shiming the shadows of their own youth.

“Li Shiming is a disciple of our sect, Master Du Hai, no need to think about it!” Elder Yin, although somewhat displeased with his daughter’s intimate actions with Li Shiming, still stepped forward and spoke.

“Mr. Yin is unaware, both ‘Life-taking Buddhist Chant’ and ‘Buddhist Light Appears’ are not ordinary Buddhist chants. Anyone who can compose such chants must deeply understand Buddhist teachings. Now look at this young novice’s power of Vajra; our sect’s ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’ is widely spread, but how many can reach such a state in the Qi Refinement Stage?” Master Du Hai explained with a smile.

Li Shiming really wanted to explain that his ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’ was special. With the enhancement of the Vajra Relics and the aid of the ‘Sword Demon Secret Manual’, his ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’ was maintained at the ultimate level of his own realm.

That is to say, his ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’ was limited by his realm. He was waiting for his realm to advance, though his ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’ had already surpassed his current stage.

“Since Master Du Hai thinks so highly of Li Shiming, you should provide him with more guidance!” Elder Yin, aware of some facts about Li Shiming, certainly would not consider him to be influenced by Buddhist teachings, said with a laugh.

Elder Yin had just met Li Shiming, but with his concern for his daughter, how could he not investigate Li Shiming’s background?

From Li Shiming’s situation in the Great Xia period to his entry into the sect, all had been investigated by Elder Yin.

It was true that Li Shiming had extraordinary literary talent, but to say that Li Shiming aspired to the Buddhist path was absolutely impossible.

Li Shiming had been a decisive person during his secular days. Apart from practicing the ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’, there seemed to be no connection with Buddhism.

Elder Yin spoke as such to Master Du Hai, merely thinking of securing some benefits for Li Shiming from him.

The Ten Thousand Buddha Sect was larger and more substantial in foundation than the Heavenly Sea Sect.

“Well then, I see that this novice’s ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’ is incomplete, differing from our sect’s secret version. I will transmit to you the part of our sect’s ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’ from the Qi Refinement Stage to the Golden Core Stage; as long as you can master it completely, you will be able to establish yourself in the Golden Core Stage by relying solely on the ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’!” Master Du Hai nodded slightly and spoke.

He understood Elder Yin’s intentions, yet he also had his own ideas.

Whether it was the ‘Life-taking Buddhist Chant’ and ‘Buddhist Light Appears’ which showcased Li Shiming’s understanding of Buddhist teachings, or the pure power of Vajra that enveloped him, all made him believe that Li Shiming had a profound Buddhist fate.

With just a little guidance, Li Shiming would one day become a member of the Buddhist Sect.

The act of Old Monk Du Yuan presenting the Vajra Relics showed that Du Yuan shared this opinion, and he likewise could make an effort to push Li Shiming along.

When Master Du Hai mentioned that relying solely on the ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’ would suffice in the Golden Core Stage, Li Shiming thought it was an exaggeration, but seeing that the other Golden Core cultivators showed no displeasure, this confirmed the truth of the statement.

Li Shiming became very interested in the complete version of the ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’ and looked eagerly towards Master Du Hai.

“This ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’ is a secret version, not to be divulged, and violators will be hunted down by the Ten Thousand Buddha Sect!” Master Du Hai said as he lightly tapped Li Shiming’s forehead with a finger.

The forehead being a critical spot, Li Shiming instinctively wanted to dodge, but Master Du Hai’s tap was deceptively swift and unavoidable.

Shortly after, a cultivation technique entered through the forehead. Li Shiming hastily absorbed it attentively, with the IBMz15 also recording.

Unknown to him what method Master Du Hai used, Li Shiming could only see the Qi Refinement stage part of the ‘Vajra Body Protection Divine Skill’, with the rest remaining a blur, unobservable.

Even the IBMz15 could not record it, marking the first time he had encountered such a situation.
