Apocalypse Descent: Farming with My Harem

Chapter 1375: Chapter 469: City of Undead, Baladin’s Conversion Ritual

Along the way, the scattered undead they encountered were swiftly dealt with in no time.

Everyone followed behind them, practically unimpeded.

Soon, they reached the center of the ancient battlefield, which was the area of that tunnel.

Ahead, there was a snow-covered entrance.

Around the entrance, there were dense footprints.

It seemed that quite a few survivors had probed here.

However... there were only footprints going in, none coming out.

The fate of these people was self-explanatory.

Assam and Blom had already walked over to clear the tunnel.

Revealing a spacious passage, about five to six meters high.

Cao Xing thought to himself, ”Luckily, this passage is large enough, otherwise not only would Da Bai be unable to enter, but the newcomer in my territory, Jode Iron Frost, wouldn’t be able to enter either.”

He glanced inside the tunnel, where a faint, eerie green glow emanated.

Clearly, there were also quite a few undead inside the tunnel.

Thus, Cao Xing said, ”Assam, Blom, you two go in first.”

”Yes, my lord!”

As the words fell, the two immediately charged into the tunnel.

In no time, angry roars of undead and sounds of fighting echoed from within.

Cao Xing and the others quickly entered.

At a glance, they saw a mass of undead inside the tunnel, frantically attacking Blom and Assam.

Seeing this scene, Cao Xing thought, ”Last time I came, there weren’t many undead in this tunnel; now there are so many.”

”At this rate, it won’t take long before more undead rush out of the tunnel.”

”By then, my territory will likely be the first to be affected.”

This also shows that his action this time was very timely.

Meanwhile.

Assam and Blom were fighting against the undead inside.

These undead had an exceedingly strong desire to attack.

Cao Xing frowned slightly, because his initial plan was to negotiate with these undead first, and if unsuccessful, then fight.

But these undead were devoid of reason, incapable of any communication.

Now, he could only hope there were communicable undead inside the ancient battlefield.

If not, the situation could become more complicated.

He exhaled gently and then said, ”Take action, clear out the tunnel first.”

Upon hearing the order, all the ranged units launched their attacks.

”Whoosh! Whoosh whoosh!”

”Crash~ crash crash!”

The Archer Corps fired arrows imbued with the aura of nightmares!

Additionally, there were numerous earth spikes, wind blades, and other magical attacks.

Multiple large damage numbers appeared above the undead!

Under this group of melee units imbued with holy water, the battle was practically a rout.

Undead in the tunnel fell in droves, unable to stop their advance.

In less than three minutes, all the undead in the tunnel were cleared.

Everyone quickly passed through the tunnel, which spanned four to five hundred meters.

At the end, a burst of green light appeared.

Cao Xing knew that it was emitted by the massive number of undead inside.

So, he reminded, ”We’re about to enter, everyone get ready.”

Upon hearing this, everyone immediately heightened their alertness.

Behind them, Duke Baladin also instructed the Ascalon Undead to enter the tunnel.

Then, they directly passed through the tunnel, and the scene ahead opened up vastly.

What first met their eyes was an exceedingly vast space, with an ancient city ahead.

This city, wrought by war and years, had become a ruin.

Yet, above this city filled with ruins, a near-limitless undead army roamed!

They were densely packed, seemingly endless!

The undead aura from their bodies illuminated the entire underground space.

Overhead, there were flying undead giant eagles, griffins, and undead giant dragons...

”Crash~!”

The sky-filled undead army, like a green ocean, surged like waves with every move they made.

Though this wasn’t the first time seeing it.

Seeing it again still couldn’t help but marvel!

Because the number of undead here was truly astonishing!

Last time when Cao Xing came, upon sensing the undead aura inside, he promptly took people and fled.

This time, he didn’t need to flee.

A brief glance.

The undead number here was at least fifty to sixty thousand.

However, this was merely the situation on the periphery; deeper within the ruin city, more and even stronger undead lay hidden!

Even Duke Baladin, who was visiting this City of Undead for the first time, couldn’t help but be amazed.

”It’s hard to imagine, near Lord Cao Xing’s territory, there’s such a colossal City of Undead.”

”No wonder you intend to deal with them; if someday, so many undead simultaneously break free, the consequences would be unimaginable!”

Cao Xing nodded, then asked, ”Duke, do you know the origin of this group of undead?”

For now, the undead hadn’t discovered them, so they could chat for a bit.

Upon hearing this, a thoughtful look appeared in Duke Baladin’s eyes.

”This group of undead seems much older than us...”

Cao Xing replied, ”Indeed, these undead are entities that died over ten thousand years ago.”

Upon hearing this time frame, a puzzled look appeared in Duke Baladin’s black eyes.

”Over ten thousand years ago... that’s quite a remote period.”

”Currently, the earliest recorded human civilization history is only around ten thousand years.”

”And according to some ancient texts’ information, humans were still living a tribal lifestyle ten thousand years ago...”
