Chapter 17: The Silver Treasure Chest in the Cave

“Whew… Whew…”

Cao Xing forced himself to calm down and then asked the system.

“Disregarding satiety, how much bear meat do I need to eat for the attribute enhancement to take effect?”

It is known that the attribute enhancement effect of bear meat only occurs the first time you eat it.

So, whether you eat 10 or 100 pieces of bear meat, the effect is the same.

But if just a bite could trigger the effect, then Cao Xing would have much more room to maneuver!

At that moment, a system prompt appeared.

[You must consume more than 100g of bear meat to gain the attribute enhancement effect.]

Seeing this prompt, a look of ecstatic joy flashed across Cao Xing’s face.

Only 100g needed!

1 piece of bear meat = 1 kilogram.

Meaning, these 1215 pieces of bear meat, he could divide into more than ten thousand portions for trading!

He couldn’t begin to imagine how many supplies he could exchange for them!

Of course, Cao Xing wouldn’t trade it all away; he needed to keep some for his daily needs.

After all, he had so many people in his territory now.

Next, he needed to recruit a Level 15 Ice Plains Druid.

So, Cao Xing promptly collected up all the materials on the ground.

With that, the spoils of this battle were almost completely tallied.

Just as Cao Xing prepared to lead everyone back, he suddenly noticed a deep cave at the rear.

That cave… seemed to be the dwelling of the Snowy Blizzard Bear.

Could there be any treasures inside?

Noticing Cao Xing’s gaze, Assam volunteered, “Lord, allow your subordinate to go and scout ahead first!”

Cao Xing nodded.

Then, Assam drew the longsword at his waist and went straight into the cave.

A few minutes later, Assam walked out and respectfully said, “Lord, no other dangers were found inside the cave.”

“However, I did find some things that are different.”

Cao Xing asked in confusion, “Different things?”

Assam nodded.

…

Cao Xing, accompanied by Liu Muxue, moved towards the Fierce Bear’s cave.

Upon entering the cavern, a faint earthy scent filled their nostrils.

A system prompt appeared.

[You have entered a special area: the Snowy Blizzard Bear cave…]

The cave was a bit dim, but compared to the icy wilderness outside, it was indeed much warmer inside.

Cao Xing glanced at the temperature display overhead.

[Current temperature: -25℃]

The deeper into the cave they went, the warmer it became.

After advancing about a dozen or more meters,

Cao Xing found the ‘different thing’ Assam had mentioned in a corner of the cave.

On a pile of dry grass, a creature lay all in white like a fluffy ball.

It was a white bear cub, seemingly newborn.

Apparently asleep, its body was curled up, revealing soft little paws.

Liu Muxue’s eyes immediately sparkled with stars.

“So… so cute…”

Cao Xing approached the bear’s nest and crouched down, just about to touch the cub

“Szzt szzt…”

[-1]

A sound of electricity crackled, and a damage number appeared above Cao Xing’s head.

Cao Xing felt as if pricked by a needle and instinctively withdrew his arm.

“What the! This bear cub can produce an electric shock?”

Cao Xing looked towards the front, surprised, as the attributes of the little bear cub appeared before him.

[Snowy Blizzard Bear (Juvenile)]

[Race: Beast]

[Level: None]

[Attribute: None]

[Talent: Thunder Body (able to manipulate weak power of thunder and lightning).]

…

Cao Xing’s eyes instantly lit up,

Born with the Thunder Attribute.

This little bear cub has potential!

Just then, another System Prompt appeared.

[Detectable tamable wild creature: Snowy Blizzard Bear Cub, would you like to tame it and recruit it into your territory?]

(Taming a wild creature requires providing food and waiting for it to grow before it can have corresponding combat power.)

Clearly, Liu Muxue, standing by Cao Xing’s side, heard the System Prompt as well.

She was eagerly looking at Cao Xing, seemingly very eager for him to take away the little bear cub.

Cao Xing pondered for a moment, then nodded.

Although the little bear cub didn’t possess combat power, it had potential.

When it grew up, it might become as powerful as the Fierce Bear outside!

[Recruitment successful, Territory Members +1, would you like to name the Snowy Blizzard Bear?]

“Eh? I can name it?”

Cao Xing’s eyes shone again as he fell back into thought.

This little fellow could produce electricity and was also a bear.

Cao Xing couldn’t help but remember a game he had played before.

In it, there was a white bear that could wield the power of thunder and lightning and gale winds, having survived the baptism of war and possessing the fighting spirit of Freljord.

It was called Wally Bell and also had a resounding title: Thunder Roar!

With that thought, Cao Xing said directly, “Today, I bestow upon you the name Wally Bell!”

The little bear cub, curled up in its den, stretched out its limbs as if it sensed something.

“Wu~”

The little bear cub hummed lightly.

[Naming Wally Bell successful.]

Liu Muxue also heard the System Prompt and was overjoyed, wanting to pick up the little bear cub.

Cao Xing reminded her from behind, “Saozi, be careful, this little bear cub can electrocute.”

Liu Muxue paused, then nodded lightly.

She carefully extended a finger to touch the bear cub’s body.

This time, the little bear cub didn’t emit any electricity.

Liu Muxue’s heart leapt with joy, and she reached out with both hands to hold the little bear cub in her arms.

She looked at Cao Xing and said excitedly, “Axing, look, it didn’t shock me!”

Cao Xing’s mouth twitched, this little guy…

It seemed that the bear cub also knew it had a new owner and was clumsily flailing its limbs.

While Liu Muxue held it, she giggled, “Wally, from now on, you will be called Wally!”

Cao Xing went past the den and walked straight to the back of the cave.

Because there, he saw a Treasure Box!

It was one of the things Assam had discovered earlier.

[Unlocked Silver Treasure Chest (Can be opened)]

Seeing the System description, Cao Xing’s breath caught, “Wow, it’s a Silver Treasure Chest!”

In this world, Treasure Boxes were graded: Black Iron, Bronze, Silver, Constant Gold, Bright Moon, and so on.

Treasure Boxes of different grades had different levels of rarity for the items they contained.

It was said that the top-grade Bright Moon Treasure Box could even contain Legendary Equipment!

As for whether there were even higher-grade Treasure Boxes, Cao Xing had not encountered any, so he was not sure.

But when Cao Xing played games, it took him over ten days to open his first Silver Treasure Chest!

So, for him to find a Silver Treasure Chest early on was incredibly significant!

Cao Xing immediately clicked to open it.

[Silver Treasure Chest opened successfully…]

[Acquired Skill Book: GZ-Mark Robot.]

[Acquired Black Iron Arm Guards (Green) *1]

[Acquired Medical Bag*5, Acquired Small Resource Pack*1, Acquired Mithril*5]

…

“Whoa! A Skill Book, a piece of Green Equipment, plus Medical Bags and Mithril!”

“Truly worthy of a Silver Treasure Chest!”

Cao Xing was thrilled, and then he began inspecting the attributes of these items.

[Skill Book: GZ-Mark Robot]

(Exclusive Skill Book for Cold Iron Mechanics, consumes materials and Mechanical Power to summon a GZ-Mark Robot inheriting 120% of the Survivor’s Attributes, with a duration of 180 seconds.)

Cao Xing exclaimed in surprise, “It’s actually this Skill Book!”
