Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1655: Kill my way over

”Boss Ye, you all go and seize a passage first.”

Wu Xiuʼs expression wasnʼt great—no one would feel good being watched like this. Just moments ago, when no one had contested the area for nearly five minutes and the time was about to expire, another one of those missiles with negligible power and no real effect came flying in.

Whether you dealt with it or not, its attack was valid and would be recognized by the wheel space, resetting the occupation timer.

The Cannibal Chain couldn’t afford to send people to investigate, or else they’d have to surrender the passage. Staying here was frustrating.

Wu Xiu knew that having Cloud Peak nearby wouldn’t help in this situation, so he said this to Ye Zhongming, suggesting that Cloud Peak go find their own passage instead of wasting time here. He also reaffirmed that their prior agreement still stood.

Ye Zhongming thought it over and agreed.

Some time had passed since the competition began, and Ye Zhongming wasn’t sure if anyone had already secured a passage. He had to guard against unexpected developments.

Take the neighboring passage he had sent Xia Bai to harass, for example. If the organization occupying it hadn’t been relatively weak, with control changing hands multiple times and Xia Bai below helping one side fight another, it might have already been fully taken.

Ye Zhongming felt that securing an unassailable position was the top priority at the moment.

After bidding farewell to Wu Xiu and Ruan Xiao, Ye Zhongming led his people to Xia Bai’s location. As for this place, the Cannibal Chain was strong enough—if they encountered an unstoppable attack, they could always send someone to summon Cloud Peak in time.
Soon, the main force rendezvoused with Xia Bai’s team.

Ye Zhongming glanced at the current situation and frowned slightly.

It was clearly chaotic here.

Xia Bai’s squad’s main task was to stir up trouble, ensuring no single faction could dominate the passage.

It could be said that Xia Bai had performed exceptionally well, successfully turning this passage into a complete mess.

Including Cloud Peak, six factions had gathered here!

Compared to the theoretical average of three factions per passage, this was clearly overcrowded.

It wasn’t that several factions were fighting desperately for control—rather, three of them, like Cloud Peak, had only sent small teams to scout for opportunities.

Evidently, many hadn’t pinned their hopes on a single passage.

This was understandable. With everyone’s strength being considerable, keeping an eye on other areas to seize any openings was a smart move.

Securing passage rights at a lower cost to conserve strength for later battles was the most logical approach.

After surviving in the apocalypse for so long, no one was a fool.

”The people here are cunning. They count the number of attacks. Once the faction holding the passage has repelled four assaults, they’ll inevitably swarm in on the fifth to drive them out. No one lets a faction stay peacefully on the passage for five minutes.”

Dai Zhi had come with Xia Bai earlier and knew the captain wouldn’t explain, so he took the initiative to brief Ye Zhongming.

”The faction currently holding the passage is called Hurricane Corona, one of the stronger ones here. They’ve already taken the passage once but were driven out at the critical moment. Now they’re holding it a second time, and this time they seem confident—they’ve already repelled three attacks.”

As Ye Zhongming listened, his gaze wasn’t fixed on the passage but on the other factions below it.

”We’ve been cautious and haven’t tried to take the passage, so we’ve had no casualties—just a few minor injuries.”

Dai Zhi’s report ended there, and the group fell silent, waiting for Ye Zhongming’s order to attack the passage.

But Ye Zhongming remained motionless for a long time.

The team couldn’t help but look at him in confusion.

”Tell me, if we take this passage, will those missiles show up here too, preventing us from securing ownership?”

Xia Bai, Red Hair, Xiao Min, and Dai Zhi all stayed silent, unsure what Ye Zhongming was getting at.

”Let’s go. Time to move.”

Ye Zhongming waved his hand, and everyone instinctively looked in the direction he pointed—

Toward the area below the passage.

Where the other factions were gathered on the ring-shaped mountain path.

Many were stunned, but they instinctively launched their attacks.

Cloud Peak’s assault was anything but ordinary. Coupled with the element of surprise, the factions on the ring-shaped path—despite being wary of Cloud Peak’s arrival—never expected them to launch such a full-scale, indiscriminate attack.

This was human nature. Judging by numbers alone, there was no reason for Cloud Peak to act like this.

Even if they were fully prepared, withstanding Cloud Peak’s assault wouldn’t be easy, let alone in this situation.

The Red Guards and the few warriors of the Youth Army broke through like a hot knife through butter, cutting into the foreign-zone evolved.

Blood and lives, at this moment, were as cheap as rotten cabbages after harvest.

The scene left the faction still on the passage dumbfounded. Weren’t they supposed to be the ones under attack? Why was this new group helping them?
