Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1651: Helpers and no helpers

Black sand and skyfire collided in midair, actually producing a loud explosion.

The energy shockwave swept outward in all directions, affecting both the Red Death team and surrounding squads, with varying degrees of damage depending on distance from the explosion center.

Half of the several dozen people who attacked alongside the Red Death leader had already died, while the others lay withered on the ground, unable to stand.

”What is this?”

A Red Death member who wasnʼt severely injured but was clearly mentally shaken could only think about the descending flames. He couldnʼt comprehend what power could break Red Deathʼs ultimate trump card - the Black Sand!

This was a team skill that the leader and veteran members had spent enormous effort and cost to obtain.

Red Deathʼs current status and strength were inseparable from this ability.

Except for being ineffective against a level nine lifeform during testing, Black Sand could even injure top-tier level eight lifeforms.

Yet it was defeated by a sea of flames.

Black Sand had a cooldown period. For todayʼs battle, the Red Death leader specially purchased a perfect-grade potion to enable continuous use of this skill.
But now half the Black Sand users were dead, and most survivors couldnʼt stand. Even if activated again, its power would be greatly diminished.

In this crucial life-or-death battle, the failure of Black Sand almost meant the teamʼs defeat.

And in the apocalypse, defeat often meant death.

Death terrifies everyone, even these survivors whoʼve evolved over five or six years in the apocalypse.

One ability from Cannibal Chain made all competing forces pause at the passage. The power of Raging Skyfire was simply too overwhelming.

Ye Zhongming watched from behind, narrowing his eyes as he gained deeper understanding of this magical group combat.

The circular terrain had seven passages and twenty teams, averaging about three teams per passage.

Besides temporarily dominant Red Death, arriving Cloud Peak and Cannibal Chain, three other teams were at this passage, making it the most concentrated stairway.

Red Death had already repelled two assaults, severely damaging two forces. After seeing Raging Skyfire, these two wisely withdrew.

Two teamsʼ departure left four forces remaining.

Cannibal Chain halted their advance near the passage. Wu Xiu and Ruan Xiao stood at the front, their hands emitting growing light. The synchronized formation looked both orderly and terrifying.

Everyone knew they were preparing an even stronger attack than Raging Skyfire.

Ye Zhongming led Cloud Peak to block another team.

He didnʼt care if they attacked Red Death, but couldnʼt let them disrupt Cannibal Chainʼs spell preparation.

The opposing team didnʼt waste words negotiating with Cloud Peak. Theyʼd wait - if Cannibal Chain defeated Red Death, theyʼd withdraw rather than fight two allied intact teams. But if Cannibal Chain needed help against Red Death, there might still be opportunity.

However, while waiting, the blocking group suddenly attacked.

They used instant abilities or ranged weapons, not particularly powerful attacks normally used for probing.

But with Red Death focused on defending against Cannibal Chainʼs glowing-handed evolved, they paid little attention to distant Cloud Peak confronting another force.

Yet Cloud Peak attacked precisely to create better conditions for Cannibal Chain.

Cloud Peakʼs attack triggered chain reactions. The opposing team moved too, but restrained themselves when Cloud Peak redirected fire.

Red Death attempted counterattacks, but before they could, radiance descended.

Destiny Radiance!

A pure light magic.

In this apocalypse with wheel technology, there were no restrictions like ”one person, one magic element” from stories.

With sufficient mental power and scrolls, one could learn any number of magic skills.

Destiny Radiance was an extremely powerful area light magic.

An area magic cast simultaneously by all Cannibal Chain members naturally covered an enormous space.

The entire Red Death team was enveloped.

Red Death counterattacked - they wouldnʼt wait for death. Their leader desperately threw out a red carpet from his storage space.

The carpet expanded midair, shielding him and the core members.

Scattered attacks differed greatly from unified ones.

After Destiny Radiance, fewer than 300 Red Death members remained combat-ready.

They became casualties of Cannibal Chainʼs extreme magic assault.

Wu Xiu and Ruan Xiao glanced at Ye Zhongming before charging up the stairs with their team.

Now they just needed to eliminate these 300 wounded enemies.

Cloud Peakʼs assistance seemed simple - just blocking a team and launching some attacks.

But donʼt underestimate this. Without Cloud Peak blocking, would Cannibal Chain dare prepare such a lengthy, powerful spell? Without Cloud Peakʼs surprise attack beforehand, would they achieve such results?

Cloud Peak paid little, yet would gain many magic scrolls. For Cannibal Chain, it meant the difference between a bloody battle and an easy victory.

Having allies makes all the difference.

Seeing this outcome, the opposing force resigned and began retreating.
