Chapter 757: Fake Demon Hunter II

The Incubus System Chapter 747. Fake Demon Hunter II

Her voice resonated in a strange mix of familiarity and foreignness. I stood up and turned towards her.

Before me, stood a female demon hunter, her hand outstretched towards me, a level 1 Mana Lance suspended in midair. However, something seemed off.

Instead of the usual Demon Compass that demon hunters wielded, she wore a magic bracelet on her wrist.

I squinted at the name hovering above her head.

”You...” I muttered through gritted teeth, a bitter tone coloring my words.

But before I could say a word, she interrupted me with a pained expression on her face. ”Demon... I will kill you...” Her voice quivered with sadness.

That statement brought a mixture of amusement and sympathy to my heart. It was almost comical to think that this woman believed herself to be a demon hunter.

Yet, behind the bitterness and determination in her eyes, I could sense her trauma and the burning desire for revenge.

Exhaling a weary sigh, I extended my arm and flicked my index finger downward, using my telekinesis power. The Mana Lance, suspended in midair, descended swiftly and pierced into the ground with a resounding thud.

”How did you find me?” I asked in curiosity.

”It doesnʼt matter how I found you!”

”Miranda, right?” I asked

”How do you know my name?” Her frown deepened.

In response, she took a stance that vaguely resembled an attack position, though it lacked the strength and finesse of a true warrior.

With a bitter tone, I acknowledged our past encounters. ”I know because we have met before... or rather, weʼve crossed paths twice,” I corrected. ”Iʼm truly sorry for what happened to your boyfriend,” I added, bowing my head slightly in a gesture of remorse.

Her shock was evident. ”Shut your mouth!” she yelled.

Without a momentʼs hesitation, she hurled her Mana Lance in my direction once again.

With a flick of my finger, I used my Telekinesis, giving her a quick shove to the side. She crashed into the ground, the sharp clink of her Mana Lance hitting the floor echoing through the air.

Disappointment welled up within me. ”I saved you from that torment, and this is how you repay me?” I voiced my disappointment.

”When?” she snarled, her voice dripping with displeasure.

”I saved you from that incubus,” I admitted. Deep down, I knew she wouldnʼt remember me.

”Donʼt you dare spout such nonsense to me!” she shouted, her anger flaring like wildfire.

I let out a weary sigh. ”Right, of course... How could I expect you to remember?” I muttered. It was I who had taken the decision to erase those memories, believing it was for the best.

”But one thing, Miranda,” I interjected, my voice tinged with both earnestness and frustration, ”I am not the demon who took your boyfriendʼs life and shattered your world. They are gone, dead.”

I hoped that my words would help alleviate some of the burden on her heart.

”Even if those demons are dead, you are still a demon yourself. You have killed innocent people!”

I couldnʼt help but feel taken aback by her audacity.

”I donʼt kill humans. Not yet, at least,” I confessed.

”Liar!” she spat, her eyes burning with fury.

With lightning speed, she charged toward me, her Mana Lance poised for an attack.

But I remained composed, calmly snapping my fingers and invoking my Dark Bound skill.

In an instant, a powerful surge of dark energy surrounded her, binding her in its grasp.

She froze mid-motion, her body collapsing to the ground with a heavy thud. Yet, despite her immobilized state, she struggled relentlessly.

She fought against the ethereal restraints. ”You speak of justice, of the death, of the one who tore my world apart. But how can I believe you? How can I trust that youʼre not just another twisted demon playing mind games with me?”

I understood her skepticism.

Lowering myself to her level, I met her gaze with sincerity. ”You directed your anger at the wrong demon, Miranda. The one who took everything from you is truly dead,” I reiterated.

It pained me to witness her struggle, to see her trapped within her own torment.
