The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2640: A storm approaching

The days passed as the forces of the Alliance continued erecting more and more spires across the continents of the Fallen Empyrean World. Each new structure was carefully anchored to a ley line, allowing it to channel immense amounts of energy and gradually expand the Ouroboros Stronghold’s influence farther into enemy territory. What had begun as a single foothold established by the Scarlet King was slowly transforming into a vast network capable of challenging the Curse Eaters’ authority over the world itself.

Unfortunately, nothing lasted forever.

Cain was personally overseeing the deployment of another series of spires when a meaningful light suddenly appeared in his eyes. His gaze shifted toward the horizon, and immediately a solemn expression formed on his face as he sensed an immense force approaching from the distance.

A long sigh escaped his lips.

”Nothing good lasts forever.”

Despite those words, there was not the slightest trace of discouragement in the Scarlet King’s eyes. On the contrary, an intense battle will ignited within him as his soul force, willpower, and physical strength began to rise. Turning his attention toward the newly established formation network, Cain quickly analyzed its condition before offering a small nod.

The spires were still incomplete. They had not yet reached the point where they could fully expand the domain of the Ouroboros Stronghold and reclaim the world on a continental scale. However, they had already achieved their most important purpose. The suppression imposed by the Fallen Empyrean World’s laws had been neutralized within their area of influence.

That meant neither side would possess a home-field advantage.

The Curse Eaters would no longer be empowered by the world they controlled, and the warriors of the Alliance would not receive any additional enhancement from the Ouroboros Stronghold once they moved beyond its central domain. The upcoming battle would be decided solely by personal strength.

Less than a year ago, such a confrontation would have ended in disaster for the Alliance.

At that time, the Curse Eaters had surpassed them in every aspect imaginable. Their cultivation, bloodlines, techniques, treasures, and combat experience had all been superior. Yet countless battles, endless hardships, and the creation of the Chimera Will Path had changed everything.

Every warrior standing on this battlefield had undergone a transformation.

Scarlet light appeared in the eyes of the Alliance powerhouses as they sensed the approaching enemy army. One after another, they abandoned their construction duties and moved into battle formations, their expressions solemn as they summoned their Chimera Wills and manifested the unique weapons born from them.

The pressure released by thousands of Chimera Wills instantly flooded the battlefield.

Some wielded blazing swords surrounded by oceans of fire. Others held massive war hammers crackling with storms. Spears, halberds, bows, and countless other weapons appeared across the battlefield, each carrying unique powers tied directly to the soul of its wielder.

Although the warriors of the Alliance loathed the Curse Eaters with every fiber of their being, none of them underestimated their enemy.

These were warriors of an Apex Race.

Every single one possessed battle power capable of shaking worlds.

If victory was to be achieved, it would require absolute commitment from the very beginning.

Cain smiled faintly as he observed the determination burning in the eyes of his people.

Without hesitation, he extended his hand.

A violent surge of power erupted around him as Tyranus Gungnir manifested.

Holding the spear firmly, Cain stepped forward and took his place at the head of the Alliance army.

Silence spread across the battlefield as the forces of the Tenth Empyrean World approached.

The killing intent radiating from the Curse Eaters was so overwhelming that the earth trembled beneath their advance while the heavens darkened above. Massive clouds gathered across the sky and turned crimson beneath the pressure of countless murderous wills converging upon a single point.

The atmosphere grew heavier and heavier until even space itself seemed to groan under the strain.

The moment Nito entered Cain’s sight, the Scarlet King tightened his grip around Tyranus Gungnir.

Immediately, his eyes narrowed.

The Curse Eater was stronger.

Far stronger than he had been during their previous clash.

Although Nito had spent days secluded from the battlefield recovering from the backlash of the Samsara Eye, his aura no longer displayed the slightest trace of instability. Every movement carried a profound sense of harmony, while the power flowing through his body appeared infinitely more refined than before.

Most alarming of all was the scar on his forehead.

A thin line remained where the third eye had previously manifested.

From within that scar leaked an extremely faint aura.

Samsara.

The power was nowhere near the level displayed when the eye partially opened during their previous battle, yet what truly disturbed Cain was not its intensity.

It was its stability.

There was no backlash.

No visible damage.

No signs of suffering.

Only control.

Only adaptation.

The realization immediately struck Cain.

His expression darkened.

”His Primordial Essence has adapted.”

A heavy pressure settled within the Scarlet King’s heart.

The Samsara Force was one of the most terrifying powers he had ever encountered. It possessed the ability to reverse death itself, restore shattered bodies, and temporarily elevate battle power into the Fourth Realm. If Nito continued adapting to that power, each future confrontation would become exponentially more dangerous.

However, fear had never been part of Cain’s nature.

If anything, danger only strengthened his resolve.

”I have to do it now.”

Taking a deep breath, Cain allowed scarlet flames and golden radiance to emerge within his eyes.

The Power of Chaos and the Flow merged seamlessly.

As the two supreme forces enhanced one another, a massive shockwave exploded outward from the Scarlet King.

The Wings of Chaos unfolded behind him.

They expanded endlessly across the sky like oceans of scarlet plasma, yet their true power did not come from energy alone. They were manifestations of connection itself, embodying the hopes, faith, and trust of countless living beings across the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe.

At that moment, Cain felt the strength of an entire universe flowing through him.

His body became stronger.

His soul expanded.

His energy deepened.

Yet nowhere was that enhancement more profound than within his willpower.

For the briefest moment, Cain felt it.

A barrier.

A boundary.

A gate.

The Fourth Realm.

His willpower was already pressing against it, scratching at its surface and searching for a way through.

The realization filled him with immense excitement.

The breakthrough felt closer than ever before.

Yet before he could fully immerse himself in that sensation, another presence entered his perception.

A second force.

Violent.

Immensely powerful.

It traveled behind the Curse Eater army, carrying an aura so vast that even Cain could not immediately identify its nature.

His gaze pierced through the distant horizon.

A strange expression appeared on his face.

”Is that...”

For the first time since sensing the approaching enemy, genuine surprise surfaced in his eyes.

”A storm approaching?”
