The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1976: Proto Laws of Life and Death

”There are five levels within the NecroSkin,” Cain murmured to himself as he studied his new form. ”Each one unlocks according to the energy radiating from my body and the depth of my energy pool. Right now, I have only accessed the First Level—Umbral Dermis. Yet even this beginning stage has infused my flesh with a flawless layer of protection, equivalent to the armor of an Early ArchDeity.”

Cain flexed his arm, feeling the supple, living membrane shifting under his skin. With the durability of his body—already monstrous thanks to the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance—only attacks at the level of a Middle ArchDeity could possibly breach his defense. And even then, the damage they caused would be minimal, barely scratching the surface.

A thrill coursed through his chest. The goal of his Primordial Body had always been indestructibility. And now, with each new step, that dream drew closer. With this Gift and the Merit he had obtained, there was no reason to linger in the Samsara Sacrificial Grounds. After offering a respectful bow to the purple flame, he departed, rising into the skies above the Third Level.

”Legion interrupted me,” he thought grimly, ”but now is as good a time as any. System, analyze me.”

At once, a cold, metallic voice echoed through his mind, rattling off the diagnostic.

”Excellent!” Cain shouted aloud, unable to contain his satisfaction.

His stats had skyrocketed. Vitality in particular surged well into the realm of a First Order Neo-Demon ArchDeity. His energy pools, already immense from the nourishment of the Ouroboros Cult’s sacred grounds, had expanded even further. Soul Force benefited immensely from the evolution of his Sacred Organs.

Even his Ego Wave, although still looked at Early Mind and Soul as One, was advancing at a shocking pace thanks to the Scarlet Throne’s ongoing assimilation of Legion’s remnants.

After confirming that the Sky Sovereign and the Scarlet Path elites were thriving, Cain departed silently, returning underground to the chamber before the shattered portal of the Ouroboros Cult.

The flow of life and death radiating from the brothers still flooded this place, saturating it with primal energy. It was a perfect ground for healing—and cultivation. Cain settled cross-legged, breathing deep.

The Samsara Seal stabilized his body, soul, and will, but stabilization was not the same as healing. The scars of Resurrecion lingered. He drew the twin currents of life and death into his body, circulating them with precision, focusing on knitting the hidden wounds.

But he did not stop there.

If he sought to advance further into the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance, he would require the Proto-Laws of Life and Death. This chamber presented the perfect opportunity. The energy of the brothers nourished him, while the countless souls trapped in the Scarlet Throne had already imprinted insights into his mind.

Cain closed his eyes. Slowly, deliberately, he reached toward the Chaos Before the Laws.

Given his cultivation, the might of his Inner Universe, the feedback from Amon and Bael, and the enhancements of the Crown of Ascension, it was not difficult to deconstruct the Laws of Life and Death. Before long, two Chaos Origin Seeds shimmered within his mind—one vibrant with the spark of existence, the other dark with finality.

Now came the true challenge: forging them into something greater.

He turned first to Life.

Cain focused every thread of his thought on it, contemplating its countless aspects—birth, growth, resilience, and transformation. Slowly, one truth rose above all others.

”Life always strives,” Cain whispered. ”No matter the challenge, no matter the pressure, it seeks a way forward. It heals, it adapts, it evolves. It does not merely recover—it returns stronger. It trends toward indestructibility.”

Enlightenment struck like lightning.

The Chaos Origin Seed of Life flared, evolving into something magnificent. Power flooded Cain’s Inner Universe, wrapping every star, every world, in an endless cycle of reconstruction and growth.

This was not simply healing—it was escalation. Each wound would become fuel for growth, each setback a step toward greater strength.

Cain’s eyes snapped open, shining with light.

”Proto-Law of Optimus Evolution.”

The name alone made the new power roar to life, his body surging with vitality. His already formidable healing speed doubled, then tripled, reinforcing his march toward indestructibility.

But he was not finished.

Cain turned his will upon the Chaos Seed of Death.

As with life, death had countless aspects—rot, silence, entropy, decay. Yet Cain sought the opposite of his Proto-Law of Life. If Life were endless striving, then Death was stillness.

”Death is the end of motion,” he intoned softly. ”The final cessation of change. What is stilled cannot be broken. Death is not merely rot or ruin—it is sanctuary. A shield of silence that halts all before it crumbles.”

Enlightenment flowed again.

The Chaos Seed pulsed, transforming into a mantle of serene black energy. It spread across Cain’s Inner Universe, calming its turbulence, freezing its fractures, halting wounds before they could deepen.

”Proto-Law of Mortuary Aegis.”

Cain exhaled, a long breath leaving his lungs. Power rippled outward, balancing perfectly against the vitality of Optimus Evolution. Life surged forward, stronger with every strike. Death steadied, shielding against the unbearable.

Together, they forged a dual harmony—progress and preservation, growth and stillness.

Stress sets improvements; stillness prevents catastrophic failure.
