The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1684: War of gluttony

The wielder of the phantom hand was a formidable figure from the Inferno Daemon Race’s Abyssal Clan named Harkon. Unlike the typical obsidian skin characteristic of his clan, Harkon’s was startlingly white—but that peculiarity was merely the beginning of his terrifying presence.

Harkon’s visage was a skeletal horror, polished and sharp, with monstrous features carved as if from ivory bone. Hollow eyes blazed with a searing crimson radiance akin to collapsing stars, giving him an eerie, spectral gaze.

His entire body was woven intricately from strands of living ivory sinew, each muscle fiber meticulously defined, coiled with the fury and power of a divine entity.

From his skull erupted countless bone-white tendrils that writhed chaotically around him, radiating a palpable aura of danger and unbridled strength. A crimson sash, shredded and violently torn, wrapped around his waist.

Yet, it was not merely his fearsome appearance that placed Harkon in a league of his own; rather, it was the oppressive, suffocating pressure of Star Power that radiated from every inch of his monstrous frame.

“Rank 10 Star Power…”

Cain silently muttered to himself, gripping the shaft of his Shooting Star Dragon Halberd tighter, his instincts and sharpened senses screaming warnings of the impending danger.

Yet, instead of hesitating, Cain’s expression became even more ferocious, his determination solidifying. Without even a hint of retreat, he surged forward, blazing through the sky like a storm of cosmic fury. His halberd erupted violently with raging crimson flames that illuminated the chaotic battlefield.

Harkon matched Cain’s charge with equal brutality, unleashing a ghostly aura that wrapped around his ivory frame like an impenetrable veil. His empty, fiery eyes flashed as he met Cain head-on, countering with nothing but his bare, monstrous hand.

“BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!”

Their collision unleashed an overwhelming explosion of scarlet flames and eerie spectral energy, creating an earth-shattering impact. The sound of their clash reverberated like the tolling of a colossal bell, echoing far across the chaotic skies.

This immense display spurred the surrounding Prima Deities to fight more ferociously. Cain’s astonishing feat against Alexander had shaken them, but their pride demanded that they focus solely on their own battles rather than succumb to fear or awe.

The explosive battle between countless Prima Deities continued to escalate dramatically, growing fiercer and more devastating by the moment. Finally, two powerful words resounded through the heavens, signaling the ultimate unleashing of their true forms.

“Liberacion Total!”

Those elite Prima Deities who had reached the realm of Mind and Body as One and had fully mastered the fusion of their bodies with their Alter-Egos instantly underwent awe-inspiring transformations.

Each became a colossal entity, their forms expanding until they dwarfed mountains and islands alike. These newly-emerged giants towered like lunar titans, their very movements capable of shaking entire continents.

As their battles reached this terrifying zenith, the immense forms of the transformed Prima Deities gradually ascended higher and higher, their devastating attacks ripping holes through the clouds, moving closer and closer to the boundary between the Everstrife Empyrean World and the cosmic void above.

This was not mere chance; although they no longer had to fear damaging the fabric of reality itself, they instinctively moved higher, making way for yet another phase of this devastating war.

Once the echoing waves of destruction from their battle ascended into the heavens and faded into distant rumbles, a tense, eerie silence enveloped the two armies of millions of Divine Cultivators that hovered above the Sea of Misfortune.

For just a brief instant, both sides paused, realizing the sobering truth of their battlefield: their lives and deaths, though seemingly insignificant compared to the mighty beings battling above, held a deeper, more personal meaning.

They were neither foolish nor naive; each warrior understood well that even if they annihilated every single enemy in front of them, ultimate victory hinged solely upon the outcome of the battle between the overlords above. Yet, did that mean their struggles were meaningless?

Absolutely not!

They were here to kill, yes—but even more importantly, they were here to feed upon their enemies’ strength, to seize opportunities from carnage, to push beyond their mortal limitations, and ignite the dormant potential within their souls.

They fought desperately, hoping to catch the attention of those mighty existences above and dreaming, perhaps impossibly, of one day joining them in that higher battlefield among the stars.

“ARRRRGGHHHHH!”

A primal scream of rage erupted, multiplying swiftly into millions of voices roaring in unison. This deafening battle cry shattered any lingering silence and hesitation, igniting the determination within every cultivator’s heart.

Like furious meteorites blazing through the heavens, millions of warriors rushed forward, their combined energies exploding so intensely that they darkened the skies themselves, plunging the turbulent Sea of Misfortune below into a shadowy gloom.

“BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!”

A cataclysmic explosion erupted as the two massive armies collided, instantly unleashing a torrent of carnage and spilling rivers of blood into the sea below.

There was no grand formation, no meticulous strategy—only raw, savage combat. Small groups of cultivators occasionally banded together, pooling their strength temporarily, but no vast cohesive formations emerged.

The directive was brutally straightforward: kill the enemies before them, keep killing, and do not die.

Amid this chaotic melee, champions began to rise and distinguish themselves, emerging from obscurity into blazing prominence. One was a swordsman whose blade unleashed freezing storms, encasing dozens of foes in solid ice. Another warrior crushed skulls with gravitational power, overwhelming cultivators two stages above himself. Yet another possessed a body like living diamond, whose every blow carried the weight and might of a thousand mountains.

What unified these extraordinary individuals was not just their terrifying strength, but their humble origins. These masters had not arisen from the powerful Lord Tier Organizations but from unassuming Holy Tier Organizations.

Even more mysteriously—and unseen by any—each bore an intense, hidden glow of crimson fire deep within their eyes. This invisible flame allowed them to transform every life taken, every fallen enemy, directly into fuel, further bolstering their bodies, souls, and wills.

While every cultivator sought strength from this brutal conflict, this hunger resonated especially powerfully within the thousands who carried within them a unique, symbiotic psychic entity deep within their consciousness.

For them, this was not merely a war of survival.

For them, this was truly a war of gluttony!
