The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1615: Fame

Over the following weeks and months, shocking news swept across the Everlife Continent, and all of it revolved around the same man—a figure who, just a few years ago, had crippled a Prima Deity and unleashed a Tier 9 Astral Supremacy Star in the middle of the continent.

The name of Cain Laurifer, which had finally started to fade into silence, suddenly resurfaced with even greater force—this time, carrying an even more astonishing legend.

According to countless reports, it all transpired within the Gu World during the infamous Gu Contest. The contest itself was no secret; after all, the Gu Sect forcibly gathered hundreds of millions of cultivators to participate in it. However, this time, the contest took an unprecedented and terrifying turn.

Eyewitnesses—hundreds of Divine Transcendence Masters—reported that Reverend Madness, the founder of the Gu Sect, had resurfaced in the middle of the competition. He was seen devouring cultivators alive using his Gu Insects, draining their life force to restore his former glory.

And he succeeded.

By consuming countless lives, Reverend Madness reforged his body and returned as a Prima Deity.

Yet just as he was about to annihilate every last living being in the Gu World, a single man appeared before him—Cain Laurifer.

Unlike his previous battle with Marlin, where he relied on schemes and misdirection, this time, Cain Laurifer faced the ancient monster in direct combat, relying on nothing else but his raw power.

In full view of all witnesses, Cain transformed into a colossus, a cosmic entity whose very hands could crush moons. What followed was a battle so cataclysmic that it shook the entire Gu World, reducing entire continents to obliteration.

And then… Cain Laurifer slew Reverend Madness.

At first, the scale of the feat seemed impossible. Many doubted it, dismissing it as exaggerated rumors. However, no matter how much the powerhouses of the Gu Sect interrogated the Divine Transcendence Masters, they all recounted the exact same tale.

With undeniable proof, the world had no choice but to accept the truth.

The name of Cain Laurifer began to echo louder than ever, spoken with reverence and awe. He was no longer just a prodigy. He had ascended beyond mortal comprehension—a true Third Realm existence, a supreme powerhouse of the Everstrife Empyrean World.

The entire continent was now left wondering one thing. How would the relationship between “The Monster” and the Gu Sect unfold?

He had crippled one of their Ancestors.

Now, he had slain their Founder.

Some even jested that the Gu Sect’s days were numbered, predicting that The Monster would soon destroy it entirely.

…

“How? How!? How did he rise so fast!?” Deep within the Gu Sect’s core, inside a massive golden pool, a humanoid figure writhed in hatred and terror.

Her body was not made of flesh and blood but of pure water, lacking arms and legs. However, the energy of the pool was slowly regenerating her missing limbs—but it was clearly not an easy process.

This crippled yet still formidable being was none other than Marlin, the woman who had once dismissed Cain Laurifer as an ant.

Yet now, the mere thought of him made her tremble uncontrollably.

All sorts of desperate thoughts ran through her frantic mind, as she desperately searched for a way to handle her dire predicament.

“I have to escape before he returns from the Gu World!” The decision came swiftly. There was no other choice.

Yes, the Gu Sect still had three Prima Deities, but two of them were weaker than her, and the third—strongest of them all—would certainly never risk his life to protect her.

Of course, the Gu Sect had powerful defensive formations capable of enhancing their warriors and repelling Prima Deities. But Cain had already infiltrated their sect undetected when he was just a Soul Realm Master.

Now that he was a Prima Deity?

Marlin refused to even imagine what he could do.

And so, there was only one path left for her—to run.

Far from the Gu Sect’s headquarters, in another majestic and imposing city, a bald man from the Atrox Immortus Race stood on a balcony, gazing into the distance with a solemn expression.

This man was Alucard, a Prima Deity of the Eclipse School.

“That young man… the one who barely escaped with his life from Marlin back then… is now capable of killing Prima Deities of Reverend Madness’ caliber?”

Alucard didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as he absorbed the shocking reality of Cain Laurifer’s ascension.

When it came to that young man, Alucard held mixed feelings.

On one hand, Cain had taken his son hostage, forcing Alacard into unwilling servitude. On the other hand, Alucard could not deny that he had developed a deep respect for the young man’s wit and courage.

Furthermore, after witnessing the strange winged serpent implanted in his son’s heart unlock incredible abilities and actualize his true potential, Alucard’s impression of the young man improved even further.

“On the bright side… he owes me a favor,” Alucard mused, a small knowing smile forming on his lips.

With that thought, he closed his eyes and returned to his training.

…

On an entirely different continent, a citadel stood—one so immense that it dwarfed even the headquarters of the Gu Sect and the Eclipse School combined.

Its massive walls towered higher than the tallest mountains, and its terrifying spires stretched so high that they seemed capable of piercing the very heavens.

The energy in this place was so dense—tens, if not hundreds of times thicker than the outside world—that it felt like a paradise for cultivators.

At the very center of this colossal citadel, a castle stood—one that radiated pure darkness and destruction.

And inside this shadowed stronghold, a figure sat—a being shrouded in darkness, his features concealed, save for his white pupils.

Eyes that gleamed with such boundless power that even space-time itself seemed to bend to his will. As he gazed into the distance, a sharp, knowing glint flickered in his expression.

“It seems the Everstrife Continent is experiencing a shift.” He paused, his form unmoving, yet his presence suffocating. “Good. That will leave them ready… for the war.”
