The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1611: An act of kindness

The Sky Sovereign was momentarily stunned as Cain spoke so casually about such an audacious plan. What Cain described—a scheme to infiltrate and eventually dominate the Golden Star Kingdom—was a monumental feat. After all, the Golden Star Kingdom was a colossal organization that had existed for hundreds of millions of years, rivaling even the mighty Gu Sect in strength and influence.

Had these words come from anyone else, the Sky Sovereign would have dismissed them instantly as absurd fantasies. However, given all he had already witnessed from Cain—the young man who had shattered common sense again and again—he found himself genuinely believing this daring proposition was possible.

Cain noticed the spark of interest and astonishment flashing through the Sky Sovereign’s eyes. His own gaze grew colder, his expression decisive, as he continued speaking with clear authority, “Help me achieve this goal, and when the time arrives, I will personally ensure you obtain your revenge.”

Cain had not forgotten the tragic circumstances that led the Sky Sovereign to his current weakened state. Initially, when Cain first learned that Sky Sovereign’s enemy was a powerful Archdeity, he outright refused to entertain even the possibility of aiding in such revenge. At that time, Cain was too weak and inexperienced to consider challenging one of the universe’s supreme existences.

However, after ascending to the rank of a Prima Deity and absorbing Reverend Madness’s soul, Cain felt a newfound sense of confidence. He now possessed vast knowledge and experiences, leading him to believe he could reach heights previously thought unattainable far sooner than anyone would expect.

When the Sky Sovereign heard Cain’s solemn promise, his eyes widened dramatically, and his jaw tightened with intense emotions. The thought of finally obtaining his vengeance, something he had obsessively sought for countless years, stirred within him a deeply buried fire.

The Sky Sovereign was no fool. He fully understood how slim his chances were against an Archdeity, one of the supreme powers who dominated the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe. Yet, if Cain himself would lend him his support, things could become entirely different.

Cain had risen from a mere mortal to a Prima Deity within less than a century—a miraculous feat that shocked everyone. Moreover, Cain wasn’t an ordinary Prima Deity; his incredible strength had allowed him to defeat the ancient Reverend Madness single-handedly. Who knew how powerful he could become in merely a few thousand more years?

Determination and resolve visibly intensified within the Sky Sovereign’s eyes. Without further hesitation, he knelt solemnly, lowering his head in a gesture of absolute loyalty. “If you can grant me the revenge I crave, I swear to follow you faithfully—to the gates of hell and even beyond!”

Cain’s eyes glowed brilliantly, shimmering with the golden light of The Flow, enabling him to see the pure sincerity and unwavering determination emanating from the Sky Sovereign’s soul. Witnessing this level of commitment, Cain’s smile widened as he nodded with satisfaction.

“Then it’s a deal,” Cain declared firmly.

Accompanying these words, the vast power of the Concept of Life surged through the Soul Dimension, swiftly enveloping the Sky Sovereign’s phantom and the Night Prince’s restored corpse in a radiant cocoon. A profound rebirth was beginning, but it was not a process that could be completed quickly.

“It will take some time for the fusion to fully finish,” Cain remarked thoughtfully. “I need to take care of those people now.”

Just as Cain prepared to withdraw his consciousness from the Soul Dimension, his gaze inadvertently drifted toward another cocoon in the distance—the one containing Lady Azure. Even after his significant mental evolution, Cain could not suppress a look of disdain and loathing from entering his eyes.

“Hmph,” he sneered dismissively before promptly vanishing from the dimension.

Back in the physical realm, Cain cast his gaze toward the horizon. A moment later, he disappeared in a brilliant flash of light, reappearing instantaneously in front of the group of terrified Gu Cultivators.

Lucius and the rest of the survivors trembled visibly at Cain’s sudden arrival. They instinctively lowered their heads, utterly incapable of making eye contact with the young man.

They had witnessed Cain’s astonishing battle against Reverend Madness, and there was absolutely no doubt left in their minds that he possessed the power to annihilate every single one of them effortlessly. None held even a shred of confidence that they could stand against “The Monster.”

Cain studied the cultivators coldly for a brief moment before casually waving his hand. Immediately, a vast portal tore open in the sky above them, exuding immense spatial energy.

“Use it,” Cain commanded calmly. “It will send you directly back to the Gu Sect.”

Lucius and the other cultivators looked upward, their eyes reflecting desperate hope and profound relief. Escape from this terrifying and cursed world was suddenly within their reach. Some were so eager to flee that their muscles tensed involuntarily, ready to leap through the portal immediately. Yet none dared move without Cain’s explicit permission.

Lucius, recognizing this generosity, immediately bowed deeply in gratitude. “Thank you for your mercy, Lord Laurifer. I promise you, none of us will utter a single word about the events here.”

Lucius understood clearly that powerhouses valued secrecy, especially concerning their abilities and true power levels. He had been fully convinced moments earlier that his group would never leave alive.

“You can speak freely about everything that transpired here,” Cain responded dismissively. “I genuinely don’t care. Now go.”

Although startled by Cain’s indifferent attitude toward secrecy, the cultivators hesitated no longer. Quickly, they surged into the portal, vanishing entirely. In moments, Cain was left standing alone within the silent Gu World.

“It is unusual to see you showing mercy—especially toward people like them,” Apex’s voice echoed teasingly inside Cain’s mind. Indeed, those cultivators were cruel, ruthless, and bloodthirsty individuals who had committed countless atrocities. Normally, Cain would devour their souls without hesitation or remorse.

Cain simply smiled, “The rise of a new king must be accompanied by an act of kindness and an act of cruelty. They will spread the news of what happened here, and the world will know that I can be a saint and a killer, making my plans easier to implement.”

Apex burst into hearty laughter. “Haha! That is more like you!”

With Apex’s voice fading from his consciousness, Cain stood thoughtfully amidst the sky.
