My Youth Began With Him

“Grandpa, I haven’t eaten yet…”

“It’s rare for you to wake up so early and come back to see us… Xiuyun…” The old master called out the kitchen lady’s name.

“Old master, what can I do for you?”

“Yu hasn’t had breakfast yet, prepare some for him.”

“Yes, Master.”

The kitchen lady smiled at Su Yu. “Young Master Yu, what would you like to eat?”

“Um… Are there dumplings?”

“Yes, yes. It will be done very soon. Which dumpling fillings do you like?”

Before Su Yu could say anything, Grandpa Su replied on his behalf, “Beef and radish.”

“Wow, the old man guessed it right…”

“Brat, don’t you eat this dumpling filling the most… How could I not know?” The old man put down the spray can in his hand and sat on the rattan chair beside him.

“Grandpa, are you still busy in the capital city?” Su Yu sat next to Grandpa Su and massaged his legs.

“It’s alright. Although there aren’t many huge problems, there are always small issues.”

Su Yu nodded. “Mhm, Grandpa, you’re old now, don’t keep yourself busy all the time. Take care of yourself and retire when you need to… Our family has money to support you.”

“What are you talking about? Is Grandpa doing this for money? This salary isn’t even that much… It’s not even enough to cover all your clothes. It’s just that I feel like I can still contribute to the country while I’m old.”

The old man’s voice was loud and clear. One look and one could tell that he was a veteran revolutionary soldier.

No matter what, he was concerned about his country.

“Little brat, how’s your leg?” Grandpa Su looked at Su Yu’s leg with concern.

“It has recovered completely. I’m fine now.”

“In the future, if I find out that you’re speeding again, I’ll break your legs myself,” the old man said with a straight face.

“I understand, I understand.” Su Yu smiled cheekily.

“Your father seems to be quite busy lately. You didn’t call him to check on him?”

Su Yu scratched his head, feeling a little embarrassed.

“What can the two of us grown-up men talk about? Don’t you know his personality? He’s even more stubborn than I am. I heard from Mom that he’s been in Southeast Asia lately.”

“The two of you… are really carved out from the same mold. Both of you are as stubborn as rocks in the latrine,” Grandpa Su said.

Su Yu laughed. “But you said that I’m a little better than my dad in one aspect.”

“What is it?” The old master asked him seriously.

“I’m more handsome than my dad…”

Su Yu’s smug words made Grandpa Su laugh.

“Young Master, the dumplings are ready.”

“Alright, I’ll be right there.”

Su Yu held onto his grandfather’s arm. “Old man, come in and eat with me.”

“I can’t eat anymore, it’s hard for me to digest if I eat too much at my age. You should go ahead.” The old man waved his hand.

“Okay, I’ll go in then.”

“Yeah.”

Su Yu had just taken a few steps when he suddenly remembered something. He turned around and asked Grandpa Su.

“Grandpa.”

“Huh?”

“I want to get married.”

Grandpa Su: “…”

“What? Say that again?” Grandpa Su thought he was hearing things.

“Grandpa, I like a girl. She’s not from the entertainment industry, she’s just from an ordinary family… She’s a very good person. I must marry her and give birth to a few more great-grandchildren for you.”

“Are you joking with me?”

Grandpa Su obviously didn’t believe Su Yu.

“Grandpa, it’s real this time. It’s not a joke. You know that I’ve never discussed my private relationships with you… This is the first time I’ve spoken to you.”

Grandpa Su agreed.

“Does your mother know?”

“No one else knows. I am asking for your approval first, or else how would I dare to get married?” Su Yu laughed.

Actually, he already knew in his heart that since his grandfather doted on him so much, he would never interfere in his matters.

“What does that girl think about marrying into the Su Family?” Grandpa Su asked.

Su Yu was a little unconfident. “Well… I’m trying to convince her, but I’m sure it won’t be hard for me.”

Grandpa Su was speechless…
