My Youth Began With Him

“One, two, three, four, five, six. Six zeros… It’s one million.”

Holding the one-million check Su Yu handed to her, Han Yueyao was stunned.

“Take it. Don’t go and humiliate yourself in the financial department again. Come to me if you need more… Anyway, I’m not afraid you’d run with it; the company has your pay from the shows…”

Su Yu chuckled.

“Haha. I knew you were a despicable capitalist…”

“You take the money and call me a capitalist? You like burning the bridge after crossing the river, right?”

“You’re awesome, buddy…”

Han Yueyao ran out cheerfully with the check.

Su Yu shook his head in resignation. “She’s still a child. Her mood changes so fast.”

After the twins went to travel, the others felt lost.

For the winter vacation, Boyuan didn’t take extracurricular classes and went to visit a relative in the south with his grandparents.

Wei Yunchu liked to stay home to read and play games.

Sometimes he went with his mother to her office in the municipal public security bureau. Generally, he had a leisurely life.

Wei Ying took Tiantian everywhere she went, and their relationship got even better.

Tiantian loved to talk with Wei Yunchu and used Wei Ying’s WeChat account to send messages to him; she even gave likes under his posts on Weibo.

Today Jiang Xiaowei drove to work at the bureau with her son. As a psychiatrist of the bureau, she had a big office with glass walls, which gave her a great view of the surrounding area from the top of the building.

“Yunchu, I’ll begin work in a minute. If you want to watch a movie, remember to put on your headset.”

“Okay, Mom.”

Obediently, he put on the headset and picked up his tablet.

Then his cellphone rang.

He pressed on the button Answer…

“Yunchu.” Little Bean’s smirking face appeared on the screen.

“Little Bean.”

“What are you doing, Yunchu?”

“I’m at my mom’s office in the bureau.”

“Oh, I see.”

“What’s up?” Wei Yunchu was puzzled.

“Nothing. Someone in my family misses you but is too shy to send you WeChat messages…” Before Little Bean could finish, Pudding kicked her on the butt.

“What nonsense you’re talking about, Qin Mumu?” Pudding was both ashamed and angry.

“Sis, you’re so violent… Why are you so nervous? I didn’t say your name. By ‘someone’, I meant… Uncle Tang. Uncle Tang misses Brother Yunchu. What’s wrong with you?”

Pudding: “…”

“You’re admitting you missed him, right?” Little Bean gave her a sly smile.

“Little Bean, give the cell phone to your sister.”

Wei Yunchu ordered Little Bean like a little adult.

“No problem. Give me a red packet of 500 yuan.”

“You’re blackmailing me…” Wei Yunchu was exasperated.

“Yeah. It’s blackmail. So what?”

“Fine. Five hundred then…”

After the deal, Little Bean handed the cellphone to her sister with a smirk and then stood by her side to listen.

Taking the cellphone, Pudding ran up to the platform on the top of the house and locked the door to keep Little Bean from entering.

“Pudding, are you guys still in the States?”

“Yeah. Granduncle wants us to stay for a few more days with him. Then we’ll fly to Paris,” said Pudding.

“Do you like that place?”

“Yeah. The air is very clean here. There’s no smog.”

Hearing her words, Wei Yuchu chuckled.

“What are you laughing about?”
