My Youth Began With Him

“What do you mean then?” Su Yu was officially confused. He was just joking around, but he could tell from Huo Mian’s expression that she wasn’t in the mood for jokes.

Therefore, he quickly put away his smile and looked at her in all seriousness.

“If I divorce Qin Chu, I hope you can be on my side and help me win custody… if you help me, I’ll marry you. Su Yu, I’ll marry you, and my daughters will become yours. They’ll call you daddy, and you’ll be their actual daddy.”

“Hahaha, Mian… that’s not funny at all, Pudding and Little Bean will go nuts…” Su Yu burst out in laughter; he thought Huo Mian was being ridiculous.

However… Huo Mian wasn’t laughing. She still looked as serious as ever.

“Are you done?” she asked.

“Mian…”

“Su Yu, it’s not April Fool’s, and I have no time to joke around… I told you what I really want, so once you’re done laughing, please tell me if you’re in this with me.”

“Mian, stop it.”

“I’m not doing anything. If you don’t want to help me or piss Qin Chu off, then I’ll have to battle him alone… I know my chances of winning custody are slim since I’m not rich nor powerful… Su Yu, if you don’t help me, then I’ll have to risk everything… if Qin Chu doesn’t give me custody of the twins, then I’ll die in front of him.”

“What are you saying?” Su Yu asked, feeling frightened.

“Do you think I’m exaggerating? I’m really not.”

“Mian, calm down.”

“I am calm. I want to divorce Qin Chu….”

“But you’ve been together for so long… why…?”

“Su Yu, stop being the good guy, okay? Don’t you love me? Haven’t you always loved me? Why are you pretending to help Qin Chu and me get back together? Shouldn’t you be happy that I want a divorce?” Huo Mian stood up and demanded.

Her tone made Su Yu feel extremely uncomfortable, but he endured it, because she was Huo Mian. “I do like you, Mian… but I’d rather like you from the depths of my heart, I don’t want to break up your family. I’m not pretending, I just want the person I like to be happy, that’s all… I’m not that selfish, please don’t think of me like that.”

“But what if I’m not happy?” Huo Mian asked again.

Su Yu was at a loss for words.

“Su Yu, if you won’t help me, I’ll help myself… either way, I don’t want to be with Qin Chu anymore… I know you’ve always loved me, so if you’re willing to help, then I’m willing to be with you… if you’re not, then once I get divorced, I’m leaving this country forever.” Then, Huo Mian turned around to leave.

Su Yu immediately ran up and grabbed her arm, but let go when Huo Mian turned around to face him. After all, he didn’t want to be too intimate with another man’s wife.

“Mian… I’m shocked by all this… I didn’t know any of this.”

“Su Yu, do you still love me?” Huo Mian kept asking him the same question.

Of course Su Yu loved her! However, he couldn’t say it out loud; after all, she was someone else’s wife? Wouldn’t admitting that he loved her be shameless?

“You don’t love me anymore, do you?”

“It’s not like that.”

“Then tell me you love me, I want to hear it come out of your mouth,” Huo Mian demanded.

At this moment, Su Yu felt like he was on the verge of insanity.
