My Youth Began With Him

“President Qin.”

As soon as she stepped inside, Zhang Manlin’s face bore a completely different expression.

The furious scowl and sarcastic tone of voice that she had aimed at Bella were completely gone, replaced instead with a smiling face.

“What is it?” Qin Chu lowered his head without looking at her anymore.

“I have a few things I need to say to you.”

“Speak.”

“President Qin, could you please listen carefully to me? What I’m about to say is very important.”

Zhang Manlin spoke to Qin Chu in a direct manner so that he would see her as relevant because she was very important.

Unexpectedly, Qin Chu did not give her face, but instead a cold reply. “Just say what you have to say, and I’ll read my documents. Don’t waste time.”

“Alright then, President Qin. It’s like this… I’ve decided that I want to tell you something about Huo Siqian’s five-year plan.”

“Huo Siqian’s five-year plan?” Hearing this, Qin Chu looked up subconsciously.

“That right. Five years ago, when he found me, Huo Siqian made me imitate Huo Mian, then deliberately appear, approach you and confuse you. All of this was just to pave the way for his five-year plan.”

“What five-year plan?” Qin Chu asked.

“It’s a little awkward to explain. As you know, Huo Siqian is very suspicious. He is not very trusting of others with the exception of his blue-eyed boy, Ah-Cheng.”

“So?” Qin Chu raised his eyebrows.

“So, I don’t know too many details about the five-year plan. I just know that he might try to use any means possible to have you taken out, then take that opportunity to capture Huo Mian. That’s it… because Huo Siqian has always said that he likes your wife, Huo Mian,” Zhang Manlin said.

“You actually know quite a bit,” Qin Chu said coldly.

“Not at all. I know that he has a warehouse at the Gold Wharf Port. There are a lot of weapons inside since he had previously established a relationship with the customs authorities, so no one ever checks. I’ve never been there, and I don’t know how many there are. One time, I accidentally heard one of his subordinates make mention of it, but as far as I know, it’s probably a very large arsenal… I don’t know if there will be explosives or anything like that, so you have to be careful.”

“I’m really curious, why do you suddenly feel the need to share all this with me?” Qin Chu looked at Zhang Manlin and asked expressionlessly.

“I am not afraid of your mocking. I already have nowhere else to turn. Although I appreciate that you’ve arranged for the bodyguards to protect me, Huo Siqian’s men have already figured out that I’m a traitor…”

“And?”

“So, I decided that since this is the case, I would come and tell you what I know. Then, I could only hope that you would send more people to protect me. I’m really afraid that Huo Siqian will retaliate. He has always been very cruel to traitors. I have saved your daughters, so I hope that now you can protect me.”

After Zhang Manlin finished, President Qin then understood.

This woman was aware that she was in a dangerous situation, so she told Qin Chu all of Huo Siqian’s dirty secrets.

In exchange, she hoped that Qin Chu would protect her. It was also true that, by making it clear that she was joining Qin Chu’s side, this was the real betrayal.

“Protect you? Of course, I have been sending people to protect you all along, otherwise, you would have been killed by Huo Siqian’s men that very day. Isn’t that true?”

“I know, what I mean is… Huo Siqian and Yan Ruoxi’s wedding is also fake. It’s a smokescreen. It is estimated that he is moving fast, so President Qin, you have to quickly find a way to counter-attack. The sooner you get rid of him early, the sooner I will also be safe.”

“You don’t need to counsel me on what to do,” Qin Chu said.
