My Youth Began With Him

“I don’t think there’s such a need…” Huo Mian had her hands in the pockets of her white lab coat. She looked very unfriendly.

She never had a good impression of Liu Ze because she knew he approached her for a goal.

When she found out that his goal was revenge and that he hurt Su Yu, Huo Mian was infuriated.

Su Yu was sometimes overbearing but he never did anything out of malice. Su Yu was not the one to blame for Zhao Qingya’s demise and Zhao Xiya’s death. Huo Mian thought that Liu Ze was naïve as an adult and that his world views must be twisted. That was why she didn’t bother talking to him.

“I know you hate me…” Liu Ze smiled.

“So?” Huo Mian raised her brow.

“That’s why I submitted my resignation to Director Wu,” Liu Ze said honestly.

“Oh, that’s good news. I really don’t want to see your face every day. You graduated from a prestigious school and your family’s rich. You never should have come to South Side in the first place.”

Huo Mian was rather delighted with Liu Ze’s resignation news.

“You’re right. I’m going to go back to the place I belong in… I’m going to go abroad and be with my parents.”

“Oh? No more revenge?” Huo Mian was still suspicious of Liu Ze, thinking that he might have tricks up his sleeve.

“Revenge? Hehe. Of course, I want to but I know my limits. Not only did I not get my revenge but I exposed my identity and intent. There’s no way Su Yu would allow a second chance for me to seek revenge. If I stay here, Su Yu would make my life miserable, so isn’t it smarter to leave now?” Liu Ze continued to say with a smile.

“Yes. If you can think of that, it shows you’re not stupid,” Huo Mian agreed with Liu Ze.

“I wanted to say goodbye but you don’t want to see me. I just wanted to say hi when I bumped into you…”

“Hehe, no need, Doctor Liu. We were never friends.”

“Other than being colleagues, we were classmates in high school.”

“I’m not really close with my classmates,” Huo Mian stated.

“I know. You only have Qin Chu,” Liu Ze said.

“Are you done? If you only want to say these things to me then I’ll respond to you with ‘safe travels,’” Huo Mian said. Then she walked away.

“Huo Mian, you shouldn’t be friends with Su Yu. You should distance yourself from him and not be so close to him.”

“Doctor Liu, is your head alright? Did you hit it somewhere?” Huo Mian turned around as she did not understand what Liu Ze meant.

“It’s for your own good. While I was here, I heard a lot about you. To be honest, I respect how you got to where you are today because you didn’t come from wealth. You started off as an interning nurse. As someone who is also a doctor, I am dumbfounded by your skills. That’s why I’m giving you this friendly reminder.”

“Thank you for your reminder but there is no need. Su Yu and I will always be friends,” Huo Mian said icily.

“He’ll drag you down…” Liu Ze suddenly shouted.

“What do you mean?” Huo Mian furrowed and turned around to stare at Liu Ze.
