My Youth Began With Him

Being slapped so mercilessly made Zhang Manlin feel really dizzy.

She didn’t dare to speak more.

That was how the twins and Zhang Manlin got kidnapped in the middle of the mountains.

On the other hand, C City was turned upside down in search of the twins.

“Honey, any news?” Huo Mian anxiously asked.

“Yes.”

“Where are the kids?” Huo Mian was crying from happiness.

“We found Shen Jiani and He Yongjun’s location. They’re on a mountain near Tao Yuan Village. I’ll take a helicopter there tonight with Gao Ran and some special-ops officers.”

“But the kids aren’t with them?” Huo Mian was a little taken aback.

“Yes, but they must pay the price.”

“Where are the kids? Where are our daughters?”

“According to someone who claims to be Zhang Manlin’s cousin at Tao Yuan Village, Zhang Manlin is driving on the rural roads… There are very few villages in the mountains and even fewer towns. Calculating how much time has passed by, she should arrive at Qinghe Town soon. We’ve arranged for the police to wait for her there. Zhang Manlin is different from He Yongjun, she doesn’t have any weapons. Taking care of her will be easy.”

“So we’ll see Pudding and Little Bean at Qinghe Town?” Huo Mian was beyond happy.

“If all goes right, that should be the case.” Qin Chu nodded.

“Mian, I called Zhixin. Stay at home and rest, I’ll take care of He Yongjun and Shen Jiani. When I finish, I’ll go to Qinghe Town.”

“No, I want to go with you.”

“No way, it’s too far and the roads are too rough,” Qin Chu refused.

“No, if you don’t let me come with you, I’ll go to Qinghe Town myself.” Huo Mian was stubborn.

There was nothing Qin Chu could do, he didn’t want Huo Mian to go to Qinghe Town alone, so he brought her onto the helicopter and headed for Tao Yuan village.

“Huo Mian, you’re going too…” Gao Ran was surprised when he saw Huo Mian.

“Mhm.”

“Is that okay? We’re going to catch outlaws. According to what I know, He Yongjun isn’t a force to be reckoned with. He has firearms and explosives, and he’s extremely cruel. Is it appropriate for you to come with us?” He was thinking of Huo Mian’s safety.

“It’s appropriate,” Huo Mian calmly replied.

Gao Ran couldn’t say anything…

“It’s okay, let her come with us. I’ll watch after her.”

Qin Chu couldn’t refuse her so he brought her on the helicopter with him.

In the news, the female reporter was reporting in the rain, “According to the newest information, the City Bureau has dispatched helicopters to capture the outlaws involved in the kidnapping. Sources say that they’re escaping into the mountains by Tao Yuan village. The director of the City Bureau, Gao Ran, is personally directing this operation along with the parents of the children. Let’s hope for the news of the children’s safe return.”

When Huo Yanyan saw that, she flung the remote control at the television screen.

“Mommy, what’s wrong?” Tiantian was terrified.

“Tiantian, Mommy told you not to tell anyone grandma’s whereabouts. Why didn’t you obey me?” Huo Yanyan directed her fury towards her daughter.

“But Uncle Shen isn’t anyone, he’s like a father,” Tiantian meekly replied.

“Look, you’re not even as kind as a child,” Shen Mingxi came in and heard the conversation.
