My Youth Began With Him

“I don’t need you to lecture me.”

“I’m not lecturing you. I’m simply telling you that you don’t need to waste your time arguing with me right now because the whole city is hunting down your mother and He Yongjun. Once they find them, they’re going to be killed. I heard that the twins aren’t with them anymore so they don’t have any negotiation power. All that is left for them is death…”

Before Huo Yanyan could respond, Shen Mingxi turned around and left, slamming the door shut behind him. This was the first time the two had such a heated argument.

Only when Shen Mingxi left did Huo Yanyan realize what he had meant.

She quickly took out her phone and opened up the news. Qin Chu and Huo Mian had announced their daughters were kidnapped.

The city had allocated a huge amount of its police force to hunt down her mother and He Yongjun.

Even the provincial army was involved in the search.

If what Shen Mingxi said was true, that the twins weren’t with her mother, her mother would very soon die.

Huo Yanyan quickly tried to call her mother but the line would not connect.

She felt very nervous. Finally, she decided to beg Huo Mian for help.

Huo Mian and Qin Chu did not even go home. Now that the news was out, Huo Mian’s mother and Qin Chu’s mother both fell sick and were now hospitalized after hearing the news.

Mr. Qin was also not in great shape and now was under the care of a designated doctor.

The whole Su Family was also extremely worried. Mrs. Su visited the Municipal Public Security Bureau three times a day.

Mr. Su was in a conference meeting at Jing City but he was continuously calling Su Yu to get an update.

Grandpa Su was working down at the South Sea District Military Base so he didn’t hear about the news yet.

The whole city was in chaos, with many media companies following up on the situation.

“Mian, how did this turn out like this? Didn’t you say you weren’t going to involve the police?” Zhu Lingling had cooked at home and brought the food over to the Municipal Public Security Bureau for Qin Chu, Huo Mian, Gao Ran, and Su Yu.

Huo Mian and Qin Chu had been in the office area of the Municipal Public Security Bureau for 24 hours straight now. They were overseeing the operations and waiting for updates.

“Huo Siqian probably is behind this,” Huo Mian analyzed.

“He’s such a despicable person. They made such a scene now. No matter who the twins are with, they are in grave danger…” Zhu Lingling was a simple person but even she could tell that the situation was serious.

“Have they found Zhang Manlin yet? Did we locate her cellphone?” Su Yu asked.

“Her cellphone’s location disappeared from the grid. We’re not sure if she found out that she was being tracked and so she found a way to make herself disappear from the grid. We can’t find her.”

“What are we going to do now?” Su Yu was flustered.

“Guys, let’s eat first or you won’t have the energy… I made some vegetables and soup.” Zhu Lingling took out and handed them the bento boxes.

“Lingling, I don’t feel like eating,” Huo Mian said in a depressed tone.

Before Zhu Lingling responded, Su Yu scolded, “Eat it even if you can’t!”

Su Yu’s aggressive attitude shocked everyone because he always spoke gently to Huo Mian.

Only Su Yu knew about Huo Mian’s pregnancy so he was anxious that she wouldn’t eat.

Qin Chu was a calmer person, unlike Su Yu’s brash temper, so he didn’t say much.

Instead, Qin Chu showed his care through action: he took the bento box from Zhu Lingling and opened it slowly. Then he scooped up a small spoon of rice and put it by Huo Mian’s mouth.

Qin Chu said gently, “Eat a bit or you won’t be able to make it through.
