My Youth Began With Him

In the duplex apartment at Sky Blessing Court, Yang Meirong suddenly was struck with panic as she was watching TV in the living room.

“Mom, what’s wrong?” Seeing his mother’s uneasiness, Zhixin immediately got up and sat beside her.

“I don’t know… I just feel uneasy.”

“Why? Is it too hot in the room? I’ll turn on the AC…”

“No. Zhixin, sit down.”

“Yes, Mom.”

“Your sister hasn’t come and visited us lately, right?” Yang Meirong said.

“Oh, she’s very busy. She took a few days off and is busy taking care of the twins at home.”

“I don’t think so. She’d send me WeChat messages or make phone calls to me even if she can’t visit for a few days. But lately, she has been very quiet.”

“It’s probably because she is busy. In her house, she has many people such as her sister-in-law and mother-in-law, etc. You know how it is.”

Zhixin still didn’t know that his sister had been kidnapped.

“I sent her a WeChat message one hour ago, but she didn’t reply.”

“Um… Maybe she’s taking a bath or cooking in the kitchen?”

“No, such a thing has never happened before.”

“Mom, what are you getting at? You’re frightening me.”

Zhixin watched his mother pant heavily with one hand on her chest as she talked about his sister. He felt it was weird.

“Zhixin, call your sister.”

“Oh. Fine…”

He picked up his cellphone and dialed the number, but no one answered after a long while.

“Huh? She didn’t answer it. Wait a minute, I’ll call the house phone.”

This time, the butler Uncle Li of South Hill Manor answered the call.

“Oh. Is it so? Okay, I got it.”

He ended the call.

Yang Meirong asked her son immediately, “What is it? What did he say?”

“My sister and brother-in-law are out.”

“Where did they go?”

“I don’t know. The butler answered the phone.”

“I never heard them mention anything a family trip…” Yang Meirong was even more alarmed.

“Don’t worry. I’ll call my brother-in-law.”

Then Zhixin called Qin Chu.

Qin Chu was driving up a precarious mountainous road and didn’t answer the call.

It rang for a long time, but no one answered.

Now even Zhixin felt something was off.

“That’s strange. My brother-in-law didn’t answer the call either. Has something really happened to them?”

Hearing Zhixin’s words, Yang Meirong’s breathes got even shallower.

“I’ve been feeling uneasy the whole evening, wondering if your sister is in trouble. Now the whole family is out of touch. Your sister, the kids, and even Qin Chu are all missing. What is happening?” Yang Meirong began to cry.

“Mom, please calm down. Let me think. I’ll call Sister Lingling and ask her.”

Suppressing his impatience, Zhixin called Jiang Xiaowei and Zhu Lingling, but neither of them knew about Huo Mian’s disappearance.

Their husbands didn’t tell them about the abduction.

Zhixin and his mother truly began panicking.

Yang Meirong got restless and wanted to call the police.

“Mom, don’t be silly. You can only call police after a certain period of time of disappearance. Besides, my sister and brother-in-law are super smart; how can they disappear? Maybe they went on a family trip.” Zhixin tried to comfort his mother.

“I hope so. If anything happens to them, how can I live…”

At the top of Yuewang Mountain, Huo Siqian forced Huo Mian to sit down at the dinner table.

He poured a glass of red wine for Huo Mian.

“I’m not drinking it.”

“It’s not poisoned. Don’t worry.”

“I still can’t drink it.” Ever since she was pregnant, Huo Mian had stayed clear from alcoholic drinks; how could she drink wine now?

“Mian, it seems you still don’t understand the situation. Do you think you have a choice?” Huo Siqian smiled coldly.
