My Youth Began With Him

“Shen Jiani’s dead for sure…” Huo Mian enunciated each word clearly.

Huo Yanyan’s face sunk.

“Huo Mian, you…”

Huo Mian continued indifferently, “What I hate the most is being threatened. Huo Yanyan, don’t think I don’t know about you bribing Han Xu… If you don’t want other people to find out what you did, then you shouldn’t have done it in the first place. With your level of skill, you’re just a little ant in front of me. Do you think my husband will trust those videos? Psh…” Huo Mian said. Then she turned around and walked away. However, after a few steps, she suddenly turned back and emphasized, “You’re mother’s dead for sure and you’re partially responsible for it. You can wait and watch her die now.”

Huo Yanyan’s face turned as pale as a sheet of paper…

“Huo Mian, you’re a malicious woman…” Huo Yanyan leaned again the hospital corridor wall, looking exhausted.

Huo Yanyan had thought Huo Mian would be threatened by the videos because they would probably hurt her relationship with Qin Chu. Huo Yanyan thought Huo Mian would let it slip, but to her dismay, her efforts fueled the opposite results she had hoped for… She felt bitter and had complicated feelings she could not articulate.

Qin Chu video called Huo Mian when she arrived back at her office.

“Hello, Chu.”

“What are you doing?” Qin Chu said in a gentle voice. He was in his office.

“I just talked to a b*tch.”

“Huo Yanyan?” Qin Chu guessed.

“Can you not be so smart?” Huo Mian said with astonishment.

“She begged you?” Qin Chu asked.

“Yeah but maybe not beg. She threatened me.”

Then, Huo Mian told the story of how Huo Yanyan used the videos to threaten her. She also told Qin Chu how she helped Wei Dong the other day.

“So I’m really mad this time. Shen Jiani must die… She’s such a calamity.”

“You finally understand,” Qin Chu chuckled.

“Honey, am I being too malicious? After all, I have our baby in my tummy right now. Should we be nicer for the baby’s sake to collect good karma?” Huo Mian rubbed her stomach.

“Of course not. Shen Jiani’s existence is a threat to us. She only has hatred towards us. Not only that, she ruined Huo Siyi and Huo Yanyan’s lives… You’re doing the right thing. Even if you agreed to let her go, I wouldn’t agree. Don’t forget that our daughters suffered because of them.”

Huo Mian nodded as she recalled what the twins had told her about their kidnapping.

Pudding said Little Bean had hurt her head and she bled. Tears rolled in Huo Mian’s eyes. Qin Chu also became emotional when he thought about the incident.

Being kind to one’s enemy was being cruel to oneself.

Shen Jiani was an evil woman. She did not deserve pity.

“Mian, I do have something to warn you about though…” Qin Chu changed the topic.

“What is it?” Huo Mian smiled.

“Don’t be so close with Wei Dong from now on…”

“Oh, is someone getting jealous?”

“I’m not jealous but I think he’s not that smart. If you hang out with him too often, I’m afraid your IQ will get dragged down too,” Qin Chu said arrogantly.

Huo Mian: “…”

“Okay, fine, you win. This excuse is perfect…” Huo Mian giggled.

“Did you eat lunch yet?”

“Yeah.” Huo Mian nodded obediently.

“Remember to eat more. Don’t starve yourself,” Qin Chu gently nagged.

“Psh. You’re not worried that I’ll starve myself but you’re worried I’ll starve your child, no?” Huo Mian rolled her eyes unreasonably.
