My Youth Began With Him

“Silly child, how could you forget?”

“Mom, I really don’t know what you mean.” Huo Yanyan furrowed her brows.

“I’m talking about your piece-of-crap ex-husband! He treated you so poorly, how could I let him live on?”

Huo Yanyan’s ex-husband was truly a piece of crap. He even blackmailed her after she got with Shen Mingxi and got rich.

Of course, Huo Yanyan didn’t let it go so easily. She made sure that a group of men sought him out and gave him the beating he deserved.

She just didn’t want to run him off of the face of the earth because he was, after all, Tiantian’s biological father.

But, to her surprise…

“Mom, what did He Yongjun do to him?”

“Don’t worry, he won’t cause you any more trouble,” Shen Jiani preened.

“Mom, you’re not saying that he’s already…” Huo Yanyan paused in disbelief.

“Yep, he’s completely taken care of,” Shen Jiani replied.

…

Her mother’s words send shivers up Huo Yanyan’s spine…

“Mom…”

“Alright, I’ll tell you the details later. We shouldn’t contact each other for a few days. Qin Chu and Huo Mian are smarter than monkeys and I don’t want to drag you into this mess. So, don’t worry about our safety. Once Uncle Jun and I get the ransom and are out of the country, we’ll call you. Also, you don’t need to worry about Qin Chu and Huo Mian seeking revenge after their children die. Uncle Jun promised me that he would cover the twins’ dead bodies with deadly poison after we receive the money. Then, once they touch their daughters, their entire family will die.”

Before Huo Yanyan could speak, Shen Jiani continued, “I will have finally avenged my son, Siyi… Yanyan, I miss him so much… I miss your brother so much.”

“Mom, my brother’s been gone for so long. Stop talking about the past. When is this vicious circle going to stop? I wanted to bring down Huo Siqian but in the end, it almost cost me my own life. I almost lost my mind when Huo Siqian grabbed Tiantian. It was Huo Mian who helped me save her in the end.”

“You don’t get it. They worked together and put on a show to trick you.”

“I don’t think so, Mom, Huo Mian’s actually not bad. You’re just always…”

“Alright, stop talking. Yanyan, we’re already here. We can’t turn back… and that’s that.” With that, Shen Jiani promptly hung up the phone…

“Mom, Mom…” Huo Yanyan called out to her mother twice but received no reply. Her heart sunk at the sound of the beeping on the phone…

She was basically kidnapped onto a pirate ship, stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Honestly speaking, she wasn’t an evil person, and if she had a say in any of this, she didn’t want to make Huo Mian an enemy.

On the other hand, she also didn’t want to see her own mother die a torturous death. Her mom was right about one thing: they were at the point of no return.

If Qin Chu knew who’d kidnapped his daughters, he would rip them to pieces himself.

– Early morning, inside a rural clinic –

He Yongjun and Shen Jiani brought the twins here.

Due to the time, the clinic was still closed. After a long period of endless knocking by He Yongjun, the doctor opened the door, clearly annoyed.

“It’s too early. We’re still not open for business yet. Go back home.”

“We can’t wait. Our child’s injured.” He Yongjun’s voice was cold.

The doctor took a look and sure enough, there was blood on Little Bean’s head.

“Oh my, the kid is really hurt. This isn’t going to work. I’m merely a valley doctor. I can’t treat wounds like this. Go to the hospital in your county.”

Afraid of the consequences, the doctor refused to see the patient.

However, He Yongjun grabbed him just as he was about to close the door.

“What are you doing?!” The doctor was angered.
