My Youth Began With Him

Chapter 2496 A Setup within a Setup, a Mystery within a Mystery (16)

Yu, you’re on that woman’s side!? You hit me because of her? We’ve been bros for so long…”

Shen Mingxi said, feeling a strong sense of injustice. Although he wasn’t as close friends with Su Yu as Wei Liao and Tang Chuan, he thought their relationship was past the point where Su Yu would punch him this hard. Not only was Shen Mingxi shocked, he felt wronged.

“Okay, so you want to talk bros with me now, eh? Let me tell you this: if we haven’t been friends for so many years, I would have thrown you into the sea to feed the sharks rather than just punch you.”

“I don’t understand why that woman means so much to you. She’s already someone’s wife…” Shen Mingxi did not know Huo Mian that well so all his information about her was from hearsay. Therefore, he did not understand why Su Yu was so enamored by Huo Mian.

“Fine. Let me tell you why I punched you in the face. First, you slandered Huo Mian. You don’t know her and are criticizing her based on rumors. With limited information, who gave you the right to judge someone else’s life? Secondly, you said Huo Yanyan went to ask Huo Mian to go see Huo Siqian with her to save her daughter, right?”

Shen Mingxi did not dare to utter another word so he quietly listened…

“If you thought my punch was heavy, then Qin Chu probably would’ve killed you if he heard what you said,” Su Yu shouted.

Shen Mingxi continued to look at Su Yu with a confused look on his face.

“You don’t know how dangerous that psychopath, Huo Siqian, is to Mian. Qin Chu still sends people to secretly protect Huo Mian because he’s afraid Huo Siqian will make a move. You two naively went to ask Huo Mian to help you guys. Huo Yanyan used how she helped Huo Mian before with Huo Siyi to force her to help her. Let me set things straight with you. The person that kidnapped Huo Mian and her twins were Huo Siyi, Huo Yanyan’s half-brother. Also, if I recall correctly, Huo Mian helped Huo Yanyan when your ex-wife, Wei Ying, bullied her multiple times after the Huo Family’s situation became tense. What happened to Huo Siyi was the work of Huo Siqian, and Huo Siqian is not the type that will leave loose ends. But how do you think your darling Huo Yanyan is still alive? Do you think Huo Siqian is so generous or that Huo Yanyan is so beautiful that he feels it’s a pity to kill her?”

Su Yu’s words made Shen Mingxi utterly speechless…

“Let me tell you then. Huo Siqian cares about Mian. Mian has helped Huo Yanyan multiple times and she has emphasized to Huo Siqian that Huo Yanyan is now living an ordinary life. Huo Mian has prevented Huo Siqian from touching Huo Yanyan. You might not know but Huo Siqian, that sick psycho, listens to Mian’s words. After Huo Siyi died, Huo Mian went to look for Huo Yanyan and even gave her a new apartment and money so that she could start a new life. However, Huo Yanyan disappeared without even telling Huo Mian anything. I don’t know how Huo Yanyan found her way to you and I don’t care about that either but now that you’re slandering Huo Mian, that’s a different story. How dare you two use the kidnapping incident of the twins against Huo Mian? I will not tolerate that, especially because Huo Mian has helped Huo Yanyan numerous times without Huo Yanyan even asking for it. Huo Yanyan has only helped Huo Mian once and yet she’s already holding that against her neck? What kind of logic and moral compass is that?”

Yu, I really didn’t know…” Shen Mingxi said in an ashamed voice with his head looking down.

“Of course you don’t know. You’re being played by that woman left and right, so how the f*ck would you know?” Su Yu looked angrily at Shen Mingxi.
